Hey guys, lately the heading in my PMDG has been off by 5-10 degrees. Is there something I can do to get it aligned properly? You can see an example here: http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n257/fl...pg&newest=1 You can see that I am aligned on the runway, however the nav display shows me off by about 5 degrees. The runway heading was 085. Thanks.

Anyone think we'll see a highly detailed (ala Capt Sim/Feelthere/Wilco/CLS/Level-D) version of the A380 any time soon?

Hi; Don Grovestines cyyj 2010 has an auto installer and some compatibility files for UT and VIc+. if you use the installer you have the option to select one of UT or Vic+ apparently not both. The instructions read as follows." Otherwise, check the add-on(s) with which you want CYYJ (2010) to be compatible. Except for FS9 add-ons BC Roads and EVI Shorelines, only one add-on may be checked; to select another, you must uncheck the first. If you don't check any, CYYJ will be compatible with the default Flight Simulator." Should one be checked then unchecked and then the other checked before finishing with the install. Hi, i'm new to the avsim forums but i fly in MSFS for few years already.in the last month I started to encounter some framerate problems in FS9.when I fly and there are heavy clouds my FPS drops from 30 to something like 10-15, i didn't have this problem before.I tried to re-install the sim but it didn't do much and even with default clouds, plane and scenery i get bad FPS, when the weather is clear i get 30 FPS even with the most complex airplane and scenery.I also noticed that if I turn-off the AA the clouds doesn't cause framerate hit.I have an relatively old machine but it did the work in the past:Intel core2due E6550 2.33GHZnvidia 8600gt 512MB2GB ramruns on WIN7 ulti…

I installed the Classic Liners Vol. 1 package that comes with the 737-200. The plane has an ugly 2D panel, so I installed my own. Now the plane had smoke exhaust with the original panel, but the exhaust doesnt show if I change panels.Now I was wondering if I missed a config line somewhere. The smoke effects are still in the airplane config file, but they just wont show anymore. Any suggestions would be helpful.Thanks

I don't recall where the initial default starting KSEA C172 file is located. I have vista 64bit. I've read somewhere if the splash screen doesn't appear when you click on fs9.exe, or it appears then goes away without starting FS9, you can reload the basic default starting flight and it may work. Does this starting flight need to be in FS9.cfg as well?ThanksRich Perry

If you have not noticed it yet, you may want to take a peek at "voicechecklist_v13.zip" in the AvSim Library. It is a simple audio checklist program for any flightsim program (or anything else for that matter). It may not be quite as sophisticated as FDC, but is freeware and a great little program IMHO. Several ready made checklists are also uploaded, or you can make your own. If you have multiple monitors, or particularly multiple computers there are all kinds of options with which you can fill your monitor as well (i.e. selective lists, follow the text as you listen to the callouts, etc.).Thanks so much Oliver for your contribution!RTH

I am running fs9 since many years and have invested quite heavy in add-ons, sceneries as well as planes. Now that my computer has gone dead, I got a new one,a 15.5 inch Vaio laptop, but they are all loaded with window7 as window XP is no longer available. Installed the programs but when I wanted to run them, it did not work and my dvd drive got busted.Now, is that the end of my flightsim days, do I have to write off all the investment in add-ons? Why is Microsoft doing things like that. I am all for progress but then the software should go in the same steps, after all its also Microsoft.

Ok, I have the original version of this aircraft and I have finally figured out ( on my own by trail and/or error) how to work all of the different Auto Pilot things that I need, EXCEPT programing the FMC. I'm saving that for a rainy day.What I can't figure out is what MORE or DIFFERENT features do I get if I spend about $50 and get the version 2 ?It is only, mainly in FMC things? Thanks jerrycwo4

Does the [flight_tuning] section -the drag sections- and [TurbineEngineData] affect fuel rate? ie in [TurbineEngineData] if you decrease the static thrust will it mean more power is needed to keep a speed so more fuel burned etc?Also does [flight_tuning] section affect ILS, aileron effectiveness affecting turning rate etc?

Hi,I did some changes with the ground textures then after it finished I closed it then when I try to open Ground Environment Pro it says "Ground Environment Proffesional has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"Then I closed it then it done nothing then I kept on trying to open but it wouldn't anyone know what might be causing this? But the textures do work on my FS2004.Thank You

I recently bought a new PC based on Windows 7 64 bit. My previous system used XP SP3. I am finding that I cannot get the mouse pointer to disappear in FS. On my old system the mouse pointer would appear when I was using the mouse, and it would then disappear after a few seconds. This is not happening on my new system, so the pointer is always there in my FS window. Any suggestions how I can fix this?Thanks.

Hi, I had a problem which get me mad while crossing Atlantic this afternoon. I experienced a lot of huge changes in wind direction and speed. Since I left Ireland I could not have (almost never) a constant IAS speed, N1 value, wind direction and speed. In certain moments IAS speed dropped from 270 knots to 220!!! When reached that value four GE engines of my Jumbo rose up to the maximum thrust for 5 and more minutes to recover that gap. Then, when I reached 270knots, another wind direction change (sometimes for more than 80-90-120 degrees) and engines went to idle to decrease speed and then increased again, and then decreased again... and so on. I have an issue with PMDG 747-400, i.e the plane crashes while still on the runway. In the support forum for PMDG I have been told that this is because the runway in question (DTTA) is bitumous and I need to change it with a AFCAD editor. So I have found AFCAD version 2.21 by Sword Lee. According to this program the runways at DTTA is concrete but nevertheless I changed that to asphalt and saved when prompted if I wan't to save the changes. If I then restart AFCAD the runways are listed as asphalt so the editor did indeed save the changes. When I start FS9 the scenery database is updated which I would expect. Hi there. Hope someone can figure out what's going wrong all of a sudden with my FS9. For a start FS is taking an absolute age to boot up. The splash screen seems to be on for ever. In Windows Task Manager it shows that FS has stopped responding...but after a while it suddenly pops into life again and the entry screen appears. I've read that this has something to do with the number of aircraft you have in FS. Well, I don't really have a huge hangar going on here, so I don't know about that.Then when I choose my airport and go to fly FS seems to hang. For the default KSEA it's not so bad. I can't even get FS9 to run on Windows7. It starts and hangs. It installed in the Program Files (x86) directory, and despite uninstalling repeatedly it simply will not run.I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, but I understand legacy programs install in that (x86) area so they can run in 32 bit mode, so exlpected FS9 to simply work.Has anyone got this thing up and running successfully? If so ..what's the davinci code for doing it?jj

Hi folks,The real airline that my VA simulated is going to move it's operations onto Boeing 717-200 aircraft soon, so I need a B717 for FS2004 and would like it to be as realistic as possible...I am looking at the Perfect Flight product 'Fly The B717-200 X' but can't find all that much info so wondered if anyone here has it and could tell me about their good or bad experiences with it? I would like to know; How good is the model, are the panels good (2D and VC) and how well are systems simulated? My other option that I am aware of is Ken Michell's freeware panel (with ISG upgardes for FMC etc) on the JCA model. Anyone know any other B717s out there?Cheers,Geoff
