The FS2004 (FS9) Forum

Someone once told me that you don't have to copy the gauges of an aircraft to the Gauges folder in FS9. That you can keep them in the Aircraft folder if you wanted to. I just don't quite remember which folder they have to go into. I think that it's the Panel folder. Anyone remember how this works? Please advise and thanks!Mark

Has anybody tried the Digital Avation Cheyenne on a 64 bit OS? I switched to a W7 64 Bit OS and have had problems with aircrafts that use load managers or aircraft configuration changers. The model looks like a interesting piece of software and it is being offered at a reasonable price. I just want to make sure it will work or a system that is similair to mine before I purchase.ThanksTom

Hello all,I had to delete fs2004 because of a bug. With that, I accidently also deleted my L1011.It was a pack I downloaded from a site which I can't recall (I thought it was called something like flight simulator guide, which linked to diverse planes for download).The pack I had contained the L-1011 with various textures and a simple 2D cockpit and the gauges weren't the classic L-1011 but the other version, with those meters coming up when you accelerated. It also included a nice Delta livery.Can you help me?Thanks

Hello AllI have been trying some of my 2004 aircraft in 2002.I have just moved three P.A. ABuses over to 2002the panel shows up but not the planes.I am sure I had this with another aircraft yesterday and solved the problem somehow.If I did then I have forgotten how.Can somebody help.PS I have moved an IFDG Abus and that is fine.cheers Andy

Personally; and this is just me, I would like to see any FS9 V FSx thread immediately locked and I would subsequently like to see any of the why is X add-on being made for my sim threads locked as well...They are nothing more than opinionated peeing matches and do absolutely nothing to enhance the community feel of the forums. To the contrary the only thing they do is serve to create an even larger divide in the FS community than I ever remember seeing in all my years of simming. I know others love the FS9 v FSX threads and love to vent about why some add-on wasn't made for their sim but these forums were originally created for simmers helping simmers and neither the FS…

I have tried to create my own ai flights but the aircraft do not appear. As far as I can tell I am doing it correctly (I get no error messages). Here is an example, written it GMT with the correct aircraft title.AC#7119,N30062,95%,8Hr,VFR,13:39:58,14:21:10,040,R,9026,KSEF,18:18:56,19:00:08,040,R,9027,KSRQReplacing the aircraft with a default aircraft makes no difference. What else should I do if the flight plan is correctly written?

Hi, thought I'd try again with another question. In FSX which I use for GA, the navdata is much more up to date than FS9, infact the FSX GPS has all the current approaches for one of the airports I fly out of in real life, so I was wondering if I could use that data from FSX to update the approaches in FS9? If not, does anyone know how to add approaches to the GPS?Thanks,Jeff

Hello all,I was having the OOM problem earlier, and resolved this by doing a re-install of FS9. FS9 loads no problem, but I am having issues with the FS9.1 update. I ran the uninstaller, and uninstalled it. Then, I ran the installer, and it tells me that "It looks like you already have version 9.1 installed." It then closes. I loaded a flight in FS9 and went to double-check what version I have, and lo and behold it is 9.00. So, I did uninstall it successfully. How do I re-install it successfully? I downloaded a fresh copy from Microsoft, but no luck. Any ideas?Thanks very much,Adam

Hi, i've finally got a computer on which I can run FS9 as smoothly, which by my standards is running Captain Sim 757 @ 60fps in the VC, up from a previous 13fps :)To make things as realistic as possible, can the forum suggest which scenery add-ons (in terms of weather, traffic, mesh etc, so not airports) should get? I have GE Pro and Active Sky, is there anything else? I fly mainly between and around Ireland, UK and Holland.

Hello all,Does anyone happen to know which specific files/location are related to the OMI beacons in FS9? An addon aircraft replaced them with some pretty lousy sounds and I'd like to restore the originals, just need to know where to find them.Thanks!

Is it true that PMDG is pulling all support for FS9 as well as no more product develoment? are they completly abandoning the FS9 pilot in general? that would be sad as more people still use and even went back to FS9.

Hi, I want to purchase the Alaska mesh (FS2004) by FSGenesis, but Firefox tells me it is not recommended to make any purchase there since it is not a trusted or registered site. Has anybody had any problems dealing with FSGenesis before? Just making sure. BTW, does anybody know a good Dutch Harbor (PADU) scenery (pay or free)? Thanks in advance for your help,regards,Macs

Hey, im new to the forum and i would like to start by asking does any suffer the same fate as I do when I run FS9 at native resolution. Using a 23" samsung syncmaster is fine untill I need to use the PMDG 747 and when I look at the Overhead pannel the buttons arn't configured propperly. This makes me never use FS9 at native so I take it down to 22" size which is I think 1920 x 1080 this fixes the dials all good, apart from the fact FS9 now doesn't look as sharp not that good makes me pretty sad. Does anyone else suffer the same??Also if I *ALT + ENTER* and get the screen in windowed mode in 1920 x 1080 it sharpens up again. If anyone knows a solution I would be greatfull.…

Hi, as many of you I installed recently lots of World of AI packages into my FS2004. A few days ago I saw that all AI aircrafts coming from those packages are shown into the main aircraft menu. This is not good for me, there is a way to exclude them?Thanks bye.RR

HelloI need to know where to get hold of the view skip gauge.I have it installed in most of my 2004 aircraft,but can't locate the actual file.I would like to try it in fs2002.If it doesn't work in 2002then this post is pointless pants.And i will eat something as i am bloomin hungry.cheers Andy

Yep, I did the unthinkable and deleted FS9 and use FSX as my only sim, but who cares and why post this here? Well, here's why. I've been one of the staunchest opponents of FSX since the day it was released. FSX has been and is suboptimized bloated software in the same fashion that Vista was suboptimized bloated software and just like Windows 7 fixed Vista (which is now a dead end operating system), FS11 would have (could have?) fixed FSX. But there is no FS11.Fast forward... I've installed and uninstalled FSX and never even flown a complete flight since the day it was released almost throwing the software in the trash a dozen times, it sat in my amoire gathering dust …

Hello , I recently move from FSX to FS9 , i have a very strange problem, At night the ground is geting black not shadowed.. neither less lighted , but absolutely black, that problem is appeared at empty fields the cities are displayed well lighted.I have installed Ground Enviroment Pro ,FS Global 2010 , and Ultimate Night Enviroment , but absolutely nothing happend.i tryied to activate/deactivate the seneries, i tried to reset fs9.cfg file, turn to my first backups but nothing.. P.S i dont remember if at the clean install of FS9 it was appeared the same problem. I look forward for you ideas and solutionsThank you very much

Can someone explain to me the difference between mipmaps and non-mipmaps. I download scenery and it has a mipmaps texture folder and a non-mipmaps texture folder. All these years simming and I never knew what the difference is.

There are one or two air files which AirEd does not open as they have been coded (wilco CRJ). I believe there is a simple work around.Does someone out there know a work around (please keep it simple !!) and able to assist ?ThanksTrevor

Hey, I have uninstalled the update as a mistake, and I cant install it back. I'm getting "Update Error Type : 34". I have done what Microsoft suggested, which mean to fix the registy entries, but it didnt work.I tried to uninstall FS9 and install it again. It still give me the error.I have Windows 7 64 bit.Need help!
