I load up the Leonardo MADDOG Pro in FS9 at Kastrup airport EKCH. On the ground the fps was only about 15. If I open a 2D panel it drops to about 7 fps. I have used the utility to convert it to DXT1 textures which only cured long display uupdate times when looking at the side. Also I have MIPMAPPED the textures. Everything is maxed out in FS9 which I should be able to do with my system. When I tried loading the Level D 767 and PMDG 747 I got about double framerates compared to the MADDOG and no such drops in fps when opening a 2D panel.So it seems the MADDOG is very hard on framerates or is it only me seeing this abnormal low fps?My systemAMD X2 6000 3.1 GHz4 GB RAMGTS 25…

The VOZ switcher image comes up and it displays incorrectly. Is there any workaround for this apart from having to choose a suitable display resolution?

I am in the middle of rebuilding FS9 and I decided to put it on a bigger drive and also to put all addon scenery on a seperate, empty drive. Since doing this, however, Flightsim Manager (FSM) refuses to find duplicate texture files like it used to. Some of my addon scenery have obvious duplicates of textures which I already have in my Static Objects Library. The S.O.L. folder contains all the Runway12 and EZscenery stuff in one location. I have tried all sorts of directory changes...moving SOL folder back to the FS9/Addon Scenery folder, putting it's scenery and textures in the main FS9/scenery and FS9/texture folder and on and on...with no luck. I have the Flight1/Dreamfleet 727, which I love. However, I cannot find certain repaints, that do exist for the Vistaliner. And since the Vistaliner seems to be a good plane too I was wondering if the two could be merged.Any experience?Thanks

Hi, Im having problem with my one scenery with its texture, i can see flickering white texture and the runway is all white, do i decided to remove it but even though i already remove it, the scenery still appearing but in all white this time. how will i completely remove this? i already check the scenery.cfg and the scenery is not listed there anymore but still appearing on my fs9. any help? thanks

Sorry for the stupid question, but is there somewhere in FS that you can see useful postflight info such as fuel used, total flight time, total distance flown, etc?

I used to fly the PMDG 737 a lot and was pretty good at using the FMC, but I haven't flown that plane in close to a year and totally forgot how to use the FMC. I would like to buy some high quality planes but a lot of the planes now have a FMC. So what would be the best plane to re learn using the FMC? I have a Saitek Cyborg X Flightstick which comes with its own programming software for assigning sim functions to buttons etc. I also have MSFS2004 which has its own Controls Assignments options (as do other sims.)So which should I use - the Saitek or MSFS facilities? Does one take precedence over the other?TIA

Well, I somehow managed to delete the "intelliscene" cfg files for my Wilco CRJ 700 and 900. This causes FS to think that the main gears are both up, and upon loading at the gate, the plane bounces wildly on the ground and is unflyable :-roll. Not very productive.Anyways, I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what is in the 700/900 intelliscene file; from looking at the CRJ 200's, it's only a few lines. Hello I've been experiencing crashes in the Juneau/Stikine Regions of Flight Simulator for a few months now. It is one of my favorite regions to fly, I have many sceneries installed there and they had been working great up until a few months ago. I don't recall installing any new scenery/mesh in the area or anywhere else at that time. I just started to get crashes there.I can for example start off at PAPG and take off for and fly 040º and after a few minutes the sim will turn all black, and I usually get a error message for a dll and what not. The name of the dll changes most of the time so I can not figure it to be a specific dll. I've tried disabling just about every sc…

We are quick enough to complain about bad service from manufacturers, so I'd like to give a public thank you to Abacus for the excellent support I received yesterday.It dawned on me that the A4 Skyhawk in my install of their Vietnam Carrier Ops was missing its HUD. A look at the panel.cfg showed it was looking for a gauge which I didn't have. Without great optimism I contacted their customer support, and in less than an hour I had received an email with the missing file attached. That, I think, deserves publicising.

Hi,I had to perform a system restore on my pc last night due to a graphics problem.Anyway everything is working fine except FS2004. It loads up without a problem until I select or create a flight. I get on error message about the ATC.dll then shuts down.Is there an easy way for fix this or am I going to have to start all over again with a clean install?.Hope someone can helpThanksAdrian

Hi All Not sure if you can help me, but I’m looking for a resource whereby I can choose an airline and type…i.e. “Scandinavian Airlines / B737” and have it return routes that the airline operates with that particular type. Being a bit of a realism nerd I don’t like to fly routes in a type that the airline doesn’t actually operate. I know this info can be pieced together from various sources, airline websites, flight stats websites etc. but it would be brilliant if there was somewhere that I could get this info all in one. I know of Flight Aware which is quite useful but a lot of the airports I like to fly (Western/Eastern European) don’t seem to have much info on them and…

Hello, kind of a weird questions here:Is there any way to make AI planes always have their NAV lights on? I just think it looks very unrealistic (at least at night) to have them on. I might be alone in thinking this, but I want to know if anyone has any ideas to have them always have their NAV/cabin lights on.Thanks!

Hi AllIn an attempt to reduce shimmering on all of my AI, I mipmapped their textures using a batchfile and ImageTool. Unfortunately, although the shimmering had disappeared after adding the mipmaps, I started get pretty severe micro-stutters when panning both inside and out of thecockpit.I therefore, attempted to remove the mipamps by running ImageTool again, but this time, addingthe -nomipmap switch to the batch file. Unfortunately, this seems to have had no effect on theAI. Hi Folks,I just assembled the new system and I'm trying to set-up my new GTX460 according to Nick's setup. What wonders me is the fact that Nick fully turn off Transparency Supersampling in his set-up. Does anyone know why? I decided to experiment a bit and makes TSS 8X. Hi,I'm using the file apt_lite.zip from flightsim.com, I have no clue what I installed but something decreased the size of the lights which use this texture, a few days ago I had an excellent light effect but now all lights have become much smaller, I tried to download it again - the halo texture was still the same, also I checked the FS9.cfg entries however I can't see any difference by modifying or reseting it. How can I increase the size of the effects in FS2004?

When I was flying and recording the flight, I did everything as usual, but when I look at the play back, I realize that the movement of the control surfaces after engaging the autopilot can't be recorded. I've disengaged the autopilot and auto throttle and the flight director during the replay, but it doesen't work. Anyone know how to solve the problem?

I have found a way to get the call sign and manufacturer of an airplane on ATC. I was surprised it was this simple, yet a mystery to myself because I am not a writer of programs neither am I familiar with the code that it takes to write the airplane. I was looking in the cfg. file of one of the airplanes that I downloaded and lo and behold there was a very short and sweet little line of code written to make ATC recognize the plane. Hi there! A friend of mine has just given me his old steering wheel, and I thought, with a little ingenuity, I can use it in flight sim.The rig I thought of was to have the pedals, as rudder pedals, which works well in theory - as the drivers can map both pedals onto one axis, and use the steering wheel as a trim wheel, while using the joystick on the desk up top. In theory, this would work really well for me.I encountered one problem though - When mapping the controls in FS2004, the game only finds a set of 3 axis, X, Y, and Z. When I move the steering wheel it moves the yoke, and the joystick does too.Is there any way I can seperate the steering wheel and pedals from th…
