Hi,Two weeks ago I switched into new system (i7-950, p6XT, 12gb RAM, 460GTX, 2xWD300 Raptors, Win-7 Ultimate 64-bits) reinstalled FS2004 from the scratch with all my addons and noticed via Process Explorer that Virtual Memory size usage increased by ~2GB (from 1.5 average to 1.7 average). Yesterday, while boarding at 19:00 GMT at AI Aerosoft EHAM with iFly-738 (UT Europe, Custom made Traffic, GE, REX) I had almost 1.93GB usage of Virtual Size barely doing nothing, just watching AES movements with 46FPS.The question is - should I expect OOM soon and what I can do to prevent it? I do not use 3GB switch (there is no need for that on 64-bit systems). I also read the reports t…

Hi there,Have been flight simming for approximately 5 years of my life and I find I am usually flying with Meljet aircraft, be it for the 747, 777-200ER and 777-300ER. However, recently Project Opensky's aircraft have very much caught my eyes in terms of their lovely exterior models and visuals. However, one thing detracts me from switching. THE POSKY FLIGHT DYNAMICS!!! I find it much easier to fly Meljet's rather than POSKY's!So I was wondering if there was anybody out there who knew how to merge the two (i.e. have Meljet's flight dynamics but have the POSKY model)?Any help would go greatly appreciated...

Hi All I’m looking for some ultra high realism textures for some of my aircraft, like the ones that McPhat studios make. Having a look at McPhat it seems like most of them are FSX only which is shame, as their repaints are beautiful. I had heard that there weer some freeware textures from McPhat for the Wilco Airbus series but the freeware section of their website seems to be down. Ideally I’m looking for some for: PMDG 737NGWilco AirbusPMDG MD-11PSS 757 Thanks in advance! Martin

Looking at the 707 "demo" that captainsim is offering, I dont know why anyone would even download it. Nothing works. How can you even fly it? These people make some good stuff but the disconnection between their potential customer base and what these folks think is marketing is huge.I think they mean well here, but if CS wants to give away a "demo" then they are going to have to allow people to actually fly and enjoy the airplane on at least some level. Frankly with this demo, I'd rather go get a fully functioning free 707 at Historical Flight Group. Just my 2.3 cents (US).Eric

i currently have merged the POSKY 777-300ER with the PSS 777, and it flies excellent. the only thing i want to change and tweak is when you are executing an ILS approach and when the plane meets up with the localizer and starts the glideslope, the plane just starts going up and down and up and down(but not too extreme), which is quite frustrating since i have to always adjust throttle. is there any fix for it on the aircraft.cfg?

I've downloaded and installed the PF70/100 in my laptop (an Inspiron 11z with Windows 7 Home Basic) so I wouldn't miss the Fokker when travelling. I'd like to thank all the people at Project Fokker for such great airplanes: simple enough for flying it in the little time I have available, but interesting enough for keeping me wanting to fly it every time (although an EHSI with Map mode and TCAS would be sweet). My aircraft loads fine and keeps the locked 20 FPS when in 2D cockpit, but as soon as I turn on NAV or WING lights and go to spot view, my framerate goes down to 11-15 FPS. Beacons and strobes pose no problem at all; 2D cockpit is inmune to the problem. I have to om…

I'm looking for a tool to automatically sort/renumber the fltsim.xx lines in aircraft.cfg. I found two files on AVSIM, one AirCfg checker which is not freeware and cfg_tidy which refuses to run.Any other ideas?

Hi guys, I have very specific request here. I´m using vroute for my flight planning. Now I would like to fly GEC8210 and 8211 flights - Lufthansa Cargo flights from Frankfurt, Germany to Dallas, TX (EDDF-KDFW) and back. The route from KDFW to EDDF is not stored in vroute. I tried to enter it by myself based on the real route from Flightaware, but with no success (due to some errors). Could someone please try to enter this route to vroute so I can use it? I can´t do it by myself as I´m not so familiar with this advanced flight planning. Thank you in advance.

A couple of questions. Has FS Commander 9 been released? When I look at the Aerosoft site it shows a 22 November release date. Simmarket makes it appears as though it has been released. Also, if it has been released, has anybody tried it in a Windows 7 64 bit environment?I have never really been interested in the product, but I beginning to fly more flights in Europe and I am having a hard time finding charts for many of the major airports. What I have read about FS Commander it could solve by SIDS and Srars issues. I can find almost all the charts that I need for American airports but I don't have a good source for Europe. I have tried and have used the VATSIM PRC…

I am having a big problem in FS9 with "wavey" graphics. What I mean is when I move the plane or pan in spot view the buildings and scenery and clouds all seem to pan at different rates and it makes a wavey effect. For example the bottom part of the screen will not pan at the same speed as the middle or top and if makes kind of bands of horizontal waves. I hope I have explained this clearly.Anyone know if there is a fix for this as I have not had this problem up until this week.I am running FS9 on dual core, with GTX460 on W7 64bit. I am getting good fps so it's not performance that is the issue. Andy S

Does anyone know where I can download a copy of Tom Goodrick's Piper J3 Cub .cfg file (Cub.zip approx. 110kb)? Have done a search of Tom's homepage (even so far as using the Wayback Machine Search Engine), and attempted to email the author but no luck :(If anyone has a copy, could they please PM it to me?TIA.Regards,Dorian

Ihave come back to the forums to offer my thanks to those who assisted me with fixing VOZ. But it is no longer here? Any reason? Maybe a server error? OOPS. I searched my user name yet no posts came up. Anyhow I found the post i was looking for. Why is it so hard (or am I that dumb?) to find things?http://forum.avsim.net/topic/299729-voz-causing-load-error/page__p__1844699#entry1844699

Hi folks, after a bit of help with what may be a futile mission here.I use the WOAI models with squawkbox whilst flying online in fs9. At the moment they display with their gear permanently up which is obviously not ideal. Now in FSX it's simply a case of editing the cfg contact points to resolve the issue (thanks to 'bojote' for writing the program to make all that possible), but in fs9 SB/fs seems to ignore the contact points, and reads the gear information from the .air file. That leads me to the question, does anyone know which fields I might edit in the WOAI models .air files to show the gear in a static down position? I've had a look through them with AirEd, but have…

Hi all,I have been using Devyn GE90 soundpack for years. It is a great soundpack overall but it lacks the sound of thrust reduction during takeoff. (like the sound at 0:48 )The TSS GE90 package seems to have it. However, I found its whining sound is too weak for 777-300er (more like for 777-200 to me). Perhaps I am too picky, but I am wondering if there is any other good soundpack available? Thanks~Danny

I have recently installed the Aerodesigns A318 found here - http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=79773The file name is: ad318_ba.zip The aircraft seems to work fine.....EXCEPT the panel gauges do not seem to function. They are there, but they are not active. The documentation states: "The installer automatically installs the latest FS2004 version of Eric Marciano's excellent A320 panel. However, an extra step is required for the panel to work correctly:--COMPLETING THE PANEL INSTALLATION (Base Pack Only)*** You must download and install (if you haven't already) Peter Dowson's FSUIPC module for FS2004 (available from: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html ), and register Er…

A couple of days ago I happened to load a previously saved flight in FS2004 at KCLT and noticed that the animated jetways are jerking back and forth. They didn't do this when I first installed WA3 a few weeks ago! The jetways at KATL, KCVG, KMCI, and KLGA continue to function as they should. So far the only way I've found to stop this is to change the NAV2 radio away from 111.00. Has anyone else experienced this problem? The only thing I can think of that might be causing this problem is that I updated the driver on my Windows XP system GeForce 7600 GS video card a week ago. Is there a fix for this or should I roll back my driver to the previous one? I had been expe…

Hi AllI am contemplating purchasing Volume 1 of the Wilco/Feelthere Airbus package as I like to fly shorthaul european routes and a lot of these routes are fulfilled by the smaller Airbuses. I already get lots of enjoyment out of the PMDG 737 but it would be nice to be able to mix and match and fly a combination of Airbus and Boeing jets.It looks to tick all the boxes in terms of functionality for me, and there seems to be a plentiful supply of repaints in the library, but I have heard some bad press about it, especially about the crashing to desktop problem when changing aircraft/ending flights on Windows 7.I would appreciate any feedback on this product from anyone who …

Hi Everyone,I reinstalled FS2004 today, its been a while since I used this sim. I've been using FSX for so long I have forgotten how to setup FS2004. I have FS2004 installed with three monitors running at 5760x1200x32. Is there a wideview setting somewhere?. I'm right on top of the VC panel and no amount of zoom and/or moving back helps. It seems I'm behind the seat before I can get a view I likeThanks

Wow, really good news!To be clear: I've never been to Turkey. But flying over its teritory a few times (to or from Egypt) I had a chance to admire the wonderful mountainous landscapes.I've always thought it would be great to fly to a well-made Antalya in FS9. It is a very popular destination for many charter airlines, some even using jumbos occasionally (Transaero).Recently I've written I am not expecting any interesting FS9 sceneries very soon. I simply didn't think the FS9 version of Antalya will be out so fast.It is already AESed, so all of you who want to support FS9 products and simultaneously enjoy a really great scenery (get a good mesh of Turkey!), go and get it!…

Sadly, tomorrow, after 27 years of service of the type, a British Airways 757 will fly for the last time. One of the most elegant aircraft of all times wearing the smartest livery in the history of aviation will fly LHR-EDI-LHR, the route they flew so many times in Super Shuttle Service. Here, as a tribute, I´ve mixed the original 1983 livery with the Landor livery tail and engines (the model is PSS). I think it looks better than ever.30-Oct-2010, a day to remember...
