Hi, fellow simmers! Like (I guess) many of you, I have been fighting with ground (texture) blurries for years. Sometimes it looks better, at other times it is worse. But I can never get rid of them completely. Well, maybe 'completely' is not the best word here (I guess it would be impossible), so let me say 'to an acceptable degree'. Although I tried FSX a few times, I still prefer FS9 for many reasons. It is another story, so let me just say that the one thing I really like in FSX over FS9 is the sharp look of the ground. Even if I fly a jet at FL350 for some reasons the FSX ground textures almost always look sharp, which never is the case in my FS9. Well, but …

I know this isn't a specifically FS9 question but you guys are my "peeps" and this forum is the equivalent of my local pub. So here we go. I have noticed that price of solid state hard drives has started going down. I remember when they first came on the scene the forecast was that they would be great for programs like FS because they would dramatically reduce the time for the program to find textures and load them into memory. (Or something like that - my tech-speak skills are pretty basic) Bottom line - is this a performance enhancer? If so, worth the price? and last question - do they have to be installed internally and take the place of existing drives or can the…

Hello Everyone! I have a small question, but complicated to ask actually. I added ILS systems to some airports around Spain who in real life didnt have it, because of the facility to land, and i even managed ATC to recognize them, so i can choose an ILS aporoach instead of only a VOR-DME or even only a Visual approach. My problem/question now is, as i added a new ILS with a new frequency, it doesnt show up in the traditional 'FS2004 Map', when you look into the airport information for a certain airport, to get the correct ILS frequencies. I was looking at some screenshots that was brought to my attention in my KMIA thread and was wondering how people are getting water reflections in FS9 now? Seeing buildings/aircraft reflecting in the water is a new one on me for FS9.

1. Does flylogic's scenery need Switzerland Professional to work/show correct? I want to get Sion but not sure if I need Switzerland Pro. 2. Does anyone know where I can get Flylogic's scenery for Lugano? I am pretty sure they made a FS9 version but I can't find one.

Hi I'm waiting for my new system to arrive and have seen that I may be facing compatability probems with my joystick, a Microsoft Sidewinder 2 in Win 7 64 bit, as in this pic http://rahulchand.blogspot.com/2010/05/microsoft-sidewinder-2-precision.html No complaints really as I've had it for nearly 10 years and it's performed faultlessly. Hi Everyone! I am really considering making a switch from fsx to fs2004. I bought an alienware computer thinking that I would be able run fsx maxed out, but I was very wrong. However, I have several concerns with making the upgrade that I must ask about: 1) Am I correct in assuming that I will be able to run fs2004 with the addons Ground Environment Pro, FS Global 2010, My world 2005, REX fs2004,Acticve Sky Evolution, Fsdreamteam Ohare, PMDG 747, FS2CREW, Pro Flight Emulator, and a traffic program to make fs2004 look better than fsx default? 2) Will I be able to run the above addons together with sufficient fps (at least 25)? Hi Of course you all know about this yet I am a bit surprised that Qwings' next projects are not so popular in many discussions, especially here in this forum since Qwings is still dedicated to fs9ers. I don't have the 757 series but to me it is not a flop. I watched some YT vids and IMO the 757's have very good models, nice VC and sound.. Twice, in a mid-weight 737, after a frustrating number of messy (shovels and plastic bags messy) attempts. But the thing that I dont understand, not being very adept at charts and deep real-world procedures, is: do all approaches into 02 require a circle-to-land? Im coming from MROC so coming in pretty straight: the last waypoint FSCommander gives me is "Libis" then RC aligns me pretty much ok (and instead of a typical RC100 mile diversion "vector" this is short and to the point). Just curious to know which one you guys recommend for trees in FS9. Hello! Im thinking of buying flight 1's ground environment to replace fs9 ground textures. All I want is ground, not sky or cloud as I have rex already installed. Is it worth the extra $20 to get ground environment pro or is just ground environment good enough?

Hi, I've been always wondering is there any way to improve turbulence effect in FS2004 the way it was implemented in FSX. AS6.5 doesn't do a good job in this aspect, neither default turbulence settings in FS2004 menu. Perhaps there are some parameters in FS9.cfg that could be edited, but I'm not aware about them Your advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi there, I am in the process of reinstalling FS9 from ground zero, and I am taking it step by step as I have tons of Add-ons. As I approached the area of Lebanon, Beirut, I am seeing a big chunk of the see has an elevation of more then 11000ft. I have downloaded the Lebor scenery, and the mesh and the coast line. Now even if I deactivate the scenery and the the surrounding area like TLV and Jordan, I still see this huge chunk of elevation of the see, and id I fly through the plane crash, as if I hit the see. Having recently re-installed a freeware package for Eurocypria 737-800, then adding 'the ultimate boeing panel' to it, I seem to have lost use of my beacon working. All the other switches work but for some reason the beacon is not active when I switch it on. So I unistalled the package and started again but before adding a new panel I used the default to see if the beacon worked but no, the beacon still does not work. I have a feeling that I have done something in the main gauges folder, probabaly overwritten an older or newer file that has somehow made it not to work. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem please? Thanks!
