Hello. I have FS9 and use ASKY 6.5 and FSNav Is FSUIPC (freeware version in my case) essential for the correct functioning of these apps? Do i need to use FSUIPC at all? cheers Andy

I have developed new scenery .bgl files for FS9 and added them to the Scenery Library. My new files consist of a Folder (eg. EGLL), within this folder is:- a) Scenery folder (containing the EGLL.bgl file) and b)a textures folder (which is empty). Now while this structure is ok. in FS9 Win7 OS. someone has mentioned to me that the folder structure is not ok with Win XP OS and will return a 'Out of memory' message or some such thing. Can anyone throw a light on this. .

Hello all. Strange minor problem. I cannot scroll with the mouse wheel in the menus (aircraft selection, airport selection etc.). I am using a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 at the default settings in it's control panel. The scroll function works fine in both cockpit and other applications. Any thoughts or assistance would be most appreciated. Cheers, Glenn

Hi Folks Just wonderd if anybody knew any good sound files for the B777 GE or Trent. I know there are freeware and payware such as TSS and Syncrosoft The problem I find with those is that it simulates the sounds from the PAX Cabin, I am looking for one that does a good job of hearing the sounds in the Flight Deck, such as the A/C Systems when the ENG are shutdown like this clip below Also when the ENG are online, you can barely hear them from the Cockpit, where as the majority I find online, the ENG sounds are so loud its like you are physically next to them. Would appreciate any good ones you could recommend. Regards

I was wondering if someone might have some ideas, currently I am experiencing AI induced stutters at certain airports. Specifically my "home" airport, KBDR (Sikorsky Memorial Airport) which is located in Stratford CT and KOXC. At KBDR, taking off on runway 6, all is smooth until I reach the intersecting runway 11/29 when I will experience two brief stutters. After I clear the intersection, usually beginning my climb all will smooth out. This only happens when I have my AI Traffic enabled. Currently I have default GA with WOAI packages installed. Some days ago UTT's new B737-200 for AI got available on their website. Some more days earlier a new model by FAIB - FSX AI Bureau came out. Has anybody (con)tested these models and is able to present his/her experience, regarding especially visual design and framerate-friendlyness? Regarding the amount of repaints available, FAIB's model seems to have an advantage so far, while UTT seems to focus on "retro" repaints until now. Thanks,

I have used a program called FS Navigator for several years. I use it on a second monitor for navigating to various airports and lining up with runways, with or withhout ILS. Works great but is outdated. Is there a similar program available?

Hi all, over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site we have available some very unique scenery designed just for your flying pleasure. The latest to be released is an entire airfield burried within a mountain in Switzerland. Yes, a whole airfield, buildings and all. Two runways - one external to the mountain running across the face and another partially into the mountain. There is an easy tunnel take off option leaving from runway 18 end or you can take the hard route - take off from runway 36, flying back into the mountain and climb out through a tunnel to the rear. First of all, I am trying to put this on the FSD forum, but am waiting for confirmation that my registration toward that end has been accepted by FSD. I imagine it will get more exposure here anyway. I recently upgraded to a new P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 motherboard, 2700K CPU, Mushkin 997057 Memory and GTX580 Video Card. I also upgraded from WinXPPro 64bit to Win7 64bit. Does anyone have this problem, or has anyone had it and fixed it. Using the default flight, I can attain 65 fps with 100% Traffic and Scenery. After 10 minutes, my frames rapidly decend to single digits. I've isolated my CPUs to run FS9 on all the others except CPU 0, and I've deleted my .cfg file. I still get the dramatic dip. I've also deleted the autogen file in it's folder and adjusted my .cfg to not allow vector objects. Any ideas?

I did a flight in the Leonardo Maddog from ESBK Gothenburg. I experienced this. From the "D panel cview when looking left or right I first see the outside view for a fraction of a second then a blurred image for several seconds. This seem not to be the case in the VC but I don't like the Vc in the Maddog. Anyone recognising this? I also see purple squares for a short while before all textures display. This problem I don't experience in FSX for example. My system AMD Phenom II X4 3.4 GHz 4 GB RAM NVIDIA GTS250 1 Gb Win 7 x64

Had a look again today (for the first time in nearly a year) at the AirSimmer website. I see they are still completely censoring their forum so that nothing bad can be seen, so have they made any improvements to the product or got it to the stage where it is actually worth buying it? Up until they censored their forum, nothing about their product made me want to invest any of my money in them whatsoever.

Normally before the start of a descent, one determines the runway in use (at destination) and then plans the approach accordingly. I am using default ATC. I am only able to get the runway info from ATIS just before landing. Is there anyway to find out which runway is in use at the destination airport just BEFORE starting the descent ? Trevor

Hey guys! I've also posted this on my VA's forum, but I haven't received any answer so far. I've reinstalled FS9 a couple of weeks ago and it just looks way to dark at night. I can't even see the taxiways while taxiing. Take a look at this screenshot: Doesn't that look way too dark? It does look like a texture thingy, I use REX with Overdrive. Been searching in the settings, but I haven't found anything related to the dark textures. To compare I have another night shot when I had my previous FS9 installed: Anyone has a clue on what my problem can be? Many thanks in advance! ~Anthony

I did a search and couldn't find it. Does anyone have or know where I can download a double chime seatbelt ding mp3/wav for flightsim? The sound usually happens when a passenger rings the call button onboard a flight for a flight attendant to get them something.

Hello, I just got the GoFlight standard autopilot panel and it keeps freezing when usinig Wilco 737 pic (both FS9 and 10). Basically the led readouts lag behind the actual setting and finally after a few minutes the whole panel stops responding/controlling the sim. The default planes and Ifly 737 work fine. I've tried different usb ports along with some add-on cards and powered hubs with no luck. Any ideas on how to get it to work. Thanks David

Hello, I recently re installed FS2004 onto my new PC but am having issues. The download worked correctly but I am getting blue mountains as shown in the image and the ground textures are all messed up. Also at the airport the grass is just blank green with no textures. I recently installed Microsoft FS9 and the 9.1.0.40929.01 update in a new Acer desktop computer w/ Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is with the "Controls-Sensitivities Advanced" setting for pedals in FS9. I'm using a CH Flight Sim Yoke [uSB] and CH Pro Pedals [uSB]. I've configured the CH yoke and pedals in the "Settings-Sensitivities-Controls-Sensitivities" window using the "Advanced" option [instead of "Simple"] and clicked the "OK" button. When I return to the "Settings-Sensitivities-Controls-Sensitivities" window the configuration for the yoke is "Advanced", but the pedals configuration remains "Simple" instead of "Advanced".
