May 16, 201214 yr Hi I'm waiting for my new system to arrive and have seen that I may be facing compatability probems with my joystick, a Microsoft Sidewinder 2 in Win 7 64 bit, as in this pic http://rahulchand.blogspot.com/2010/05/microsoft-sidewinder-2-precision.html No complaints really as I've had it for nearly 10 years and it's performed faultlessly. I understand and accept that things don't last for ever. So, does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement. For space, and many other reasons, I'm not going to install rudder pedals, etc so am looking for something that's vitually identical. I like the twist grip for rudder - yes I know it's not realistic, but I'm not a real pilot, just a PC one ;-) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. May 16, 201214 yr If for space then I really want to get the Saitek Cyborg if coming to a replacement :D Or else Saitek X52 :D Hoang Le i7 13700k - Sapphire Nitro+ AMD RX 7900 XT - Asus TUF Z790 PLUS D4 - Gskill Trident 32GB DDR4-3600 LG 34GP63A-B Ultrawide - ASUS VG259QM MSFS2020
May 16, 201214 yr Commercial Member How much do you have to spend? I would have recommended the logitech attack 3 since it is the best replica Airbus sidestick you can purchase of the high street but no twist axis. http://www.logitech....cks/devices/302 Best low end stick is the Saitek X52 pro - http://www.saitek.co...rod/x52pro.html Best High end is the Warthog - http://www.simhq.com...ology_174b.html I plan to replace my X52 with the Warthog as soon as get some free time to properly study the A10 combat simulator. May 16, 201214 yr Author Thanks guys. So, is there anything similar to the Logitech 3 with twist axis? Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
May 16, 201214 yr Logitech Xtreme 3D. The one that I'm using right now. The twist axis has a bug but with FSUIPC you should be able to fix it. Hoang Le i7 13700k - Sapphire Nitro+ AMD RX 7900 XT - Asus TUF Z790 PLUS D4 - Gskill Trident 32GB DDR4-3600 LG 34GP63A-B Ultrawide - ASUS VG259QM MSFS2020

May 16, 201214 yr is there anything similar to the Logitech 3 with twist axis? Yes, Logitech 3 with CH Pro Pedals!
May 17, 201214 yr Author Yes, Logitech 3 with CH Pro Pedals! True, but the cost of the new flat I'd need to give me the necessary space is prohibitive. :shok: Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

May 17, 201214 yr Author Come on, mate, they take less space than my butt! Do you know how much one square metre of butt space costs in W-Wa these days ;-) Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
May 17, 201214 yr Thanks. Have you been able to fix the bug? Yes very simple with FSUIPC. Using the joystick calibration. Although my English isn't good, I will try to explain. When you twist the joystick, it has a little bit "free move" before you can feel the force of the twist. That free move somehow does move the rudder. So it might go left or right without using any force at all. May 17, 201214 yr it has a little bit "free move" before you can feel the force of the twist I guess you mean the null zone. Unless the controller is faulty or worn-out, it can be callibrated according to your taste. There are three ways to callibrate it: the FS9 sensitivity setup, the controller's own setup software and registrered FSUIPC.
May 17, 201214 yr Here is the video I've just recorded showing the "free move" that I was talking about. Only little bit but it actually turns the plane in Fs9. By using FSUIPC I disable the range of the free move so that it can't interact with the rudder.
