Hello, I've recently purchased my 737 from Flight1, so far I'm loving it, though a few problems have came up that have me pulling my hair out. Before I go ahead and create my 1000th new username and password over at the forums (I have a hard time remember the thousand I have now!), I was wondering if my friends here at Avsim can help me in at least identifying if it's a user error, or if it's something I should dig further on the support forum for. Hi everyone, I'm having a super frustrating issue in FS9 using the RadAlt TRI-40, provided on the fassapi website. The gauge's numbers work fine, but the only issue I have is that it does not seem to make a buzzing alert noise when I dip under the height I specify on the gauge! I have thoroughly read through the instructions provided and have also tinkered extensively (well, to the extent of my little knowledge anyway) with the sound gauge made by Doug Dawson (dsd_xml_sound3) which doesn't seem to help me. Hi. Everytime I add a light to any addon aircraft, I get no results. Example in the [LIGHTS] section, I add "light.x" (x = the next number of light lines) with the coordinates and effect names and the lights are not appearing on the aircrafts, why? I have all the effects and textures installed. Even the default lights, like the "fx_strobeh" is not appearing. I know FS has a limit for adding lights, maximum is 18 I think, I'm not exceeding that limit. Any solution is greatly appreciated.

I'm actual thinking about buying the Ifly for FS2004. I've done a test (purchase+return) while the SP2.1 was actual and no Feature Pack was released. During that time I had some problems with frames, sometimes going down in 2D Panel to 17-22fps while locked at 45fps. So this was annoying as I was never save of loosing many frames when flying trough clouds etc. Or when departing having a lacking departure with 18fps. So now after the feature pack and I found back to B737 I was thinking about buying again, maybe when on sale etc. But did something changed concerning the frames? Did the SP3/Feature Pack help? Hi, does someone if there is a update for GCLA apron available? They have enlarged the apron and added TWY C. As this is a nice and know scenery there is may something what I didn't found. Using the FS2004 Thanks mates.

If I connect an aircraft direct to active runway is the nose wheel steering allways locked,but when I taxi to the runway is it allways unlocked,how can I lock the nose wheel to the same way I have in direct connection the runway ?

I've gotten back into FS9/IFR again, and the only decent payware airliner I have for FS9 is the Captain Sim 757, and I'm sorta looking for something else. On one hand, I feel like I could do a more diverse array of flights with the 737 in terms of route lengths, but I've also heard nothing but great things about Quality Wings' latest offering, and the VC looks spectacular. Right now I'm leaning toward the iFly especially because FSBuild can export plans compatible with its FMC, and it appears to have more ease with Navigraph data. For those that own these products, what are your thoughts on them?

Has anyone found a solution to using Saitek Cyborg Evo - Pro Flight Yoke and Pro Pedals in FS9? I am having throttle problems (assigned). I think I should mention my OP system is W7 x64.

Hi Guys I have just migrated over to the above operating system from XP32 bit. I have World airports 3 by Just Flight, which is for XP and Vista, and the very early Cloud 9 Los Angeles which runs on XP. Has anyone run these on W7 and if so are there any problems in doing so? Have tried other forums with no luck and all a bit new to W7, so any help would be much appreciated. Regards Nic Jackson

I have FS2004 and have downloaded the RWY12 v1.2 and printed it's full instructions and tutorials and FAQ's. Also the 3 libraries and now I want to buy the FSUPIC from Pete Dowson site....however.....when I go there it lists several versions such as "Wide" versions and I am confused. Over the last year I have already successfuly installed Boise and Redding etc airport sceneries and a few planes without ever needing this FSUPIC. I intend to master using RWY12 to enable me to download and install more challenging airports like Salt Lake City and Vegas and whatever........ but need to know which FSUPIC do I choose for my Windows 7 and my FS9 system?

Title says it all really. Looking through quite a large installation of FS9 trying to tidy out unrequired/duplicate files. The Addon Scenery/Scenery folder has numerous (a huge amount) of various AFCADs BGLs etc from my initial attempts at adding various sceneries. Other than starting afresh is there a definitive list of what should be in this folder. Many Thanks Jim

It has been awhile since needing help on a past scenery. I had to have my HD replaced and thought I backed up this file. I did a search but could not find it on AVSIM I am sure I once downloaded it here as a free download, it was recommended by a flight simmer. I don't know if it is obsolete? As it was a great file. If someone out there can please help me out I would greatly appreciate it. What it did would replace grass that looks real, and fix the water to give it realism for FS9. Thanks. The file was either HGE or HEG not to sure.

Hi to all, when I spent my vacations in mountainuous Georgia within the last two weeks, I found a very interesting airport: There is a military site nearby, so that I was carefully with taking photos. It seems that this could be a challenge for an interested scenery builder. Unfortunately, there's not much "hard" data about this airport available in the net. I did a google search and found a few threads on various forums, but nothing that seems to pertain to my problem specfically. I usually do GA flying in FSX, but I decided today after many months to fire up FS9 again and do some heavy/IFR. I put in the FS9 Disc 4, run the FS9.exe as admin, and the normal splash screen appears, but it just stays that way, and eventually I have to close it via Task Manager. Even right after running the exe, in the TM it says it's not responding, and it takes up very little resources. Title of this post might be slightly misleading however I have been doing a lot of flying in and out of Gatwick (EGKK) which was once (not sure if it still is) the busiest single runway airport in the world. Something occurred to me: not once on final, arriving at various periods of the day, has there been ai queuing at the hold short point to take off once I have landed. This struck me as odd. I fly using Radar Contact and AI Smooth, along with Active Sky. AI moves normally when I am taking off, and a little while after I have landed. My question is this – is AI Smooth, or Radar Contact preventing movement on the ground whilst I am on the approach? Is there a…

Hello avsim-community and FS2004 lovers like me, i have a problem with the "megascenery pacific northwest", in the near of mountains are squares of snow-texture. the pictures says the rest... I thought there is a problem with the season.bgl or with other addon scenery. But i tested it with a backuped season.bgl and with disabling addon sceneries in the scenery libary, also an reinstall of the megascenery scenery couldn´t solve this problem. does anyone knows the cause for this problem, or had the problem too? thank you for advices I´m using the megascenery pacific northwest with, REX, all Georender Sceneries in PNW area, flight zone 02 portland, flytampa …

Since one of my FS computers is the family PC, that computer has 5 user accounts. Sometimes, when I'm flying, someone here needs to look for some information. So, they switch user, do whatever they have to do, sign out and call me back so I can still fly. The problem is, as soon as I log back into my user account, my FS9 screen goes black and I get this error message: "Flight Simulator cannot run during a Remote Desktop session" Then, FS9 crashes :( This has been happening in this weekend, I don't recall seeing this behavior before. OUTSTANDING... This is "wow feels like been wasting too much time flying the others, look what I have missed" addon. Yeah call me a laggard, when I was on the fence between RJ100 and Maddog,think I spent wisely on the second one. However, after spent 2 weeks to study the dc and do some workarounds especially converting some vc textures and blurry Glass_T.bmp, I wonder if there's a fix for ctd when exiting the sim? Hi All I promised in a previous thread that if I could figure out what was causing a massive FPS drop on my new system I would share the info in case it helps others. The problem occurred when flying with full AI in heavy traffic areas like London, New York etc. Turning the AI off gave an instant jump of anywhere between 50-100 FPS. Using MyTraffic AI instead of my own also gave a huge FPS increase, but as much as I appreciate that program (and them making it freeware) the AI models were just not up to current standards. I checked aircraft models and of course textures. In the process I certainly fixed a number of issues like missing alpha channels etc. I reconfigure…

Hi Guys Recently migrated to Windows 7 and have placed the core fs9 file in a new folder C:/ FS 2004/.... outside of the Windows programme/programme x86 folders ( I do not have a partioned HD).I have downloaded the core programme and the 9.1 update everything is running OK. When I insert addon planes, Scenery, utilities etc do I just point them to the new fs 2004 folder I created?. Can anyone help please? I upgraded from XP to Windows 7 but I am having trouble getting many files to install on FS9. I managed to get Gary Summons Uk part 3 on ok but i cannot get Just flight's VFR scenery volume 1 or Radar Contact 4 to install. Also many AI flights from WOAI & several aircraft don't show. In fact i can only see default traffic. Very frustrating. I have run through the installation program for the VFR scenery from scratch lots of times and t it says its ok to start FS 9 but its just not showing up. Any ideas Folks? Cheers Rod :mellow:

I'm having a problem with my throttle control. Currently, I have all of my axes being handled by FSUIPC- throttle, pitch, roll, rudder. Something is causing my throttles to enter reverse (as in F2) being pressed. The throttle is only controlled by FSUIPC- I have no separate reverser control set up, and the throttle values are showing up in FSUIPC correctly. I can leave the throttle set to around 50%, or even anywhere, and then it randomly gets brought back all the way into reverser deployment. Moving the throttle very very slightly causes it to jump back to it's correct position. I can't find anything which consistently causes it; it seems to happen every 15-45 seconds, b…

That was a bit of a mouthful, but here is was I am contemplating. At my local flightclub we have three computers in a network and two have FS9 installed. We have some new pilots who aren't comfortable with RT so I figured with the autumn evenings becoming less friendly for flying, we could instead give them a chance to work on the mic freight. So I'd like to create a training environment where a "tower controller" sits at one computer with some kind of map view and talks with the two "pilots" that uses the FS9-computers. I suppose Teamspeak is the way to go for the RT part, but has anyone got a suggestion what would be a suitable "radar application" for the ATC st…

I posted elsewhere about the FPS issue with AI. Here is a brief description of other, maybe related issues with my reinstall onto a new PC. Remember, these are all addons/programs that worked perfectly on my old rig. I am running the same OS that I had before - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with SP1. I am running the same two HD setup as before - Drive C: for everything except FS9 - Drive D: dedicated for FS9 1. I can't install the REX overdrive files. REX itself - no problem.
