Has anyone mapped a turboprop condition (mixture on piston planes) to a joystick ??? The mixture lever doesn't work on turboprops and I can't find any reference for it in either the FS9 or FSUIPC settings... Regards, Scott

Hi guys, I noticed a problem in fs2004. In areas with no buildings or lights at night, the textures appear pitch black but you can still see the autogen. Is this normal. I bought ge pro thinking it would fix the issue but it didnt, textures are still black in areas with no buildings or lights. It is as if there are no textures at all! Thanks for the help!

Hello all I've updated my GeForce 8800GTX card and now the PC crashes when FS is running. Normally just after take off. I haven't ventured off my normal routine i.e start up taxi etc. The previous version was 285.58 and the newer version is 306.81 I've also updated FSUIPC to 3.999w Two days previous I upgraded the memory from 2GB to 4GB (acceptable) according to Dell but didn't experience any issues with this. I have a Dell XPS 710 Quad Core. If anybody has any ideas what may be causing this CTD or can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance Al W

Hello, I am having a little trouble with the fsdreamteam ohare scenery and ai. I am using ai smooth. My problem is that the ai will descend to the runway way too low. They are at the same level as the autogen trees. Consequently, They touch down far before the runway begins and by the time they get on the runway, they already have their spoilers up . I really love the scenry but this is so unrealistic and I hate watching planes land like that. It kills the realism. Thanks for your help!

Hey guys, just looking at what types of frames I will be getting in the following heavy FPS on FS2004, with Full AI traffic, addon sceneries etc. New York City area, KLGA, KEWR, KJFK, Atlanta, Chicago, LAX (San Fransisco), East Coast. I am upgrading my current 5 year old system to this and I am finally ready for smooth flying! No more laggy frames!!! I hope that somebody will be able to help me with a problem I have discovered over the last week. I was flying in Norway from Kjeller ENKJ to Hamar ENHA. I took off and headed north towards Oslo Gardermoen ENGM. My planned route was to continue north towards MORSKOGEN NBD (MSK 347.0) on the southern tip of Lake Mjøsa, and then to turn north-west towards Hamar. As I was passing overhead MSK FS crashed completely. The picture froze, REX Weather Engine also stopped responding, and I had to shut everything down. Hey there long time FSimmer here, I've added some scenery from different makers Like Blue Print and others, what would be the right place to put them, mine is in Documents\Flight Simmulator Files.........It seems to work fine. Running Windows 7 64 bit, FS 9.1. Would it be better C:Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery?

I have been flying FS9 on the same platform for the past 6 years. Recently, I chose to go flying and could not communicate with ATC. I can manually tune the radios, yet there seems to be no way to bring up choices on the ATC window. It opens up and is empty. I can hear and read traffic from others, Tower, Ground control, other aircraft, and ATIS, yet I have no way to transmit to anyone. I haven't yet tried an IFR flight plan with this problem so I don't know if I would be receiving instructions along my route even though I can not respond. Does anyone have ideas on how to fix this. I have recently developed a rather bizarre and unexplained problem. Up to this point, I have had no problems with FS2004 nor airports in and around Seattle. I went to create a flight out of KSEA and I noticed that the only option available was the default runway. I chose it, and the simulator hung up at 25% memory and I had to close FS9.exe via the control panel. I have since created flights in other areas with no problem. My most recent flight was out of Portland. I took off on runway 27, destination Billings, MT. When the plane made a North turn to start heading East, the simulator froze, and I had to do another 3-finger salute. I then went in and chose the f…

I had interest in the QW 757 before, but I read a review in avsim that said that it had bad frame rates so I decided not buy it. A couple of days ago I bought the bae 146 after hearing positive things about, and I am really happy with it. So, can anyone who owns it tell me about it?

Hi guys, I run both FSX and FS9, both having installed FSDT KDFW scenery. For some reason, I get substantially better frames in FSX than FS9 at that airport. Can anyone shed some light as to why this might be? And are there addon manager settings like that in FSX to reduce FSDT scenery complexity? Help is much appreciated, Brendan

Morn'n Folks, Well - since my new rig is coming along nicely - I decided to treat myself to a new plane purchase... I chose Feelthere's ERJ Regional Jets V2 pack... One of the reasons I chose this purchase is I've see an nice old blue USAir paint in some of the promotional pictures and again in the manual... I've checked the McPhat site and I can't find it there... Would anyone know where I can find this or some other high quality USAir paints for this bird ?? What I did find surprising is not a single airline paint was included in the package - all you get is the Embraer's factory colors... I'm probably about to get myself into trouble, but why would someone go to all the effort of creating an original aircraft, repaint, panel, or scenery and not include any pics of their handy work under the Zip Drive list of files? There are extremely talented folks in the FS community but some not so much. Personally, I am very hestitant to download anything if I can't get a glimpse of what I'm going to get. Any thoughts?

I just upgraded my video card from a 560 Ti to a 660 Ti and every game or program seems to be working fine except when I use any custom panels in FS2004. When switching views from the front panel window to any side panel windows and back, FS2004 freezes for about 10 seconds and then continues normally. Any outside views (tower, etc...) work just fine. It's just the views for all (and I mean all) of the custom panels that I have installed whether freeware or payware. All default panels work fine with no freezes. I didn't have this issue with the 560 Ti and I've tried different drivers for the new 660 Ti with no solution. I've even deleted the fs9.cfg file and let FS200…

Well, my FSX machine is out of commission for the next 9 months till I can build a new computer. I melted the processor while doing a real time around the world flight in the A2A Stratocruiser. SO, after I finished real world ground school, I loaned all my controllers to them for FS9. Hi all I got a new PC especially for simming about 18 months ago and from day one have been very disappointed with the overall look of FS9. The main culprit is blurry/soft and blocky ground/water textures. I've tried every tweak I've come across and read every thread I can find about this frustrating problem and seem no closer to a solution. Therefore - seeing as I exclusively use this PC for FS - I'm thinking of reformatting my PC and going for a totally clean windows as FS9 installation. My question is - which OS? Hi A manual says "A wind of 062 degrees with 11 knots results in a headwind component of 2 knots. So enter 0/HD2 into LS2R etc ..." 1. How to get the 2 knots? 2. Is OAT that should be inserted on FMS/FMGC/FMC the one we can get from ATIS? 3. Is it correct that 062/11 means wind direction is 62 and the speed is 11 knots? Thanks

Hi I have recently merged the project airbus A320 with wilco feelthere panel and everything works fine. Only when i apply brakes the nosewheel sinks into the ground by half. I have just copied the project airbus model into feelthere A320 folder along with the texture then copied the usual 'contact points' 'lights' and 'effects' so don't know why this is happening. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, I have used FSINN many times, and have let it database all of my a/c correctly. Now, all of a sudden, it seems to have lost the 'unique aircraft ID's' and starts the whole databasing process again! I have quite a lot of aircraft installed and is a pain to run through the whole library, even though it has already done so the first time I installed FSINN. Any solutions? Thanks, Brendan

You probably all saw the announcement but I thought I'd make sure you get the word by posting something here. I hope as many of you as possible will support this FS9 release. Imaginesim has improved their products enormously over the past couple of years - their recent KDEN is excellent. There's a free trial version of KATL so there's nothing to lose by checking it out. Combine this with the Megacity Atlanta photo scenery and we have a winner! YEA! FS9 continues to attract some developers so let's show our support.... Cheers Ian

After months of tweaking my system I can finally say I have my FS9 performance right where I want it. Having to do a reinstall now would take away a lot of work and i'm afraid I would not have the patience or the drive to start all my tweaking from scratch, i'm trying everything I can to avoid this. The problem is, I have noticed a lot of my default FS9 airports are missing. Airports such as KJFK,KPVD,TNCM, etc. I dont get any errors on start up. If I recall correctly, there was a petition couple of years ago when FS2004 simmers were overwhelmed when an influential developer stated they would stop releasing addons for FS2004. The petition itself had (only) 800 votes. Some said it had more than 1000 voters. However, nothing has changed. The developer sticks to its decision. We'll never know if the developer took the petition as a serious potential market to be considered to keep supporting FS2004. And perhaps "800 or 1000voters X $75.00 = " didn't meet their budget expectation. What If there were 2-3000 simmers who signed in, could it change the situation? Maybe yes or maybe it was just wasting of time as they…
