I broke down and bought the Gold Edition of FSX. My computer runs it just fine. My first impression was it had a lot of eye candy. I also thought the airplanes had more functionality. I thought "This could be something really nice". After a few days I thought I might dump FS9. I decided to take one more flight out of Seattle to Portland, Oregon in the DA Cheyenne. About half way there, I started thinking I would have to be crazy to leave FS9. I've done all the tweaking I have numerous addons and twice the framerate. I will probably keep both simulators, but FS9 is my go to version.

Dear Simmers, I've just downloaded the PA 320 latest version and I merged it with my PSS panel ( I've just replaced the Panel folder) however if you see the attached pic I'm having bad Upper ECAM parameters. I would like to use the air file which PA provides as in my opinion is very realistic. Is there anyway I could solve this problem? Also is there any config on how to use the 3D shockwave lights with this type of aircraft? Thanks BUS320

Hi Folks, OK - this morning I'm planning a flight from PHNL to KLAX - and - I'm not really a long haul trucker... I'm using the Singapore Virtual 777 PSS/POSKY merge and I believe FSBuild calculated about 95K lbs of fuel to get from PHNL to KLAX... I'm working my way through the FMC setup and it looks I keep getting hit with an "insufficient fuel" error when I hit the "Execute" button... Even if I put substantially more fuel in I get the same error... Does the FMC read the actual fuel loaded or am I inputting something wrong ??? Also - I keep getting caught in a loop off the "Perf Init" between "Takeoff" and "Thrust Limit" screens and can't seem to get back f…

Hi Folks, Just completed my FSDT trilogy over the weekend... I now have all three products installed... Nice job FSDT... Couple questions - how do real aircraft treat Hilo ? I was flying the Tin Mouse in Aloha retro "Funbird" colors from PHNL to PHTO using RC4... Since the winds were out of the East gusting to 18 - ATC directed me West to setup for the approach on 8 - right into the side of the volcano... Clouds were around 3K - so not real good for the visual... How would real world operations handle this ? 26 is the only ILS so would airliners always use 26 no matter what the winds are doing ? Since the elevation increases steeply off the approach en…

I've just purchased and downloaded a Wilco Citation x for FS2004 and after much trial and error have succeeded in configuring it for an alarm free flight. Considering its ultra high performance, it's a very pleasant aircraft to fly. However no matter how I load a flight plan or set any of the three positions before or after alignment, I cannot set an initial heading. The heading set knob on the pedestal remains stubbornly inoperative and the HSI on PFD displays a big red X and a heading failure indication. I'm told that if you load the Citation onto FS2004 with the engines already running this problem does not occur, but part of the attraction of the Wilco aircra…

Does anyone recall the Key Combo to move scenery within the FS9 Library? Where you only need to hold the left mouse button on the Move up/down switch rather than make umpteen individual mouse clicks. Can't for the life of me recall what it was....tried a few without success.

I've always had a thing for the C337 and had been extremely disappointed that Carenado's C337 previously only worked with FSX. When Carenado announced a couple of months back or so that it was releasing an FS2004 version (as part of their decision to release FS2004 versions of a number of their FSX only aircraft) I couldn't log onto Carenado's website fast enough to purchase a copy. In my rush I only glanced, briefly, at the product discription and failed to note that the plane doesn't come with a 2D panel! While I suspose VCs have their uses, I've never liked using one for flying, much preferring a 2D panel to fly with. So to get to my question, is there a decent …

I recently upgraded my Operating System from Windows XP Pro to Win 7 Home Premium and am having the following problem with FS9 shutting down.. In random fashion, anywhere between selecting an aircraft or after a flight begins I get an error message of "Microsoft Flight Simulator is Shutting down". I removed all addon aircraft with only the MSFS9 default aircraft installed and made a flight with no problems. I then added the Gulfstream V as my only addon third party aircraft and tried a flight. My problem reappeared. By a process of elimiantion with trial and error, I was able to isolate the problem in the panel to the installation of my Reality XP GNS 530 W…

Ok i really love FS2004 and frankly i prefer it over FSX, Dont get me wrong i think FSX has its advantages over FS9, But lets face it, Performance wise FSX is just to much unless you have a really good PC. Yes I can get FSX to run well on my PC, But i really don't want to go through all those tweaks and texture conversions ect ect.... Being that i love FS9 So much Id really hate to face the reality in knowing that soon it will probably become a thing of the past, but also seeing that so many people are still playing it (and I haven't seen any other simulation that comes closer to reality With the exception of FSX) I'm hoping we can keep FS9 around. Specially for …

I have looked high and low on the mejestic forums, posted in other places to no avail. Have any of you been able to successfully merge the Shockwave lights into your PAYWARE version of the Majestic Dash 8 in FS9? Ive seen plenty of fixes for the FSX version, but none seem to work on my FS9 version. Thanks.

A final farewell. What do I mean might you ask? Well, I recently ordered a new PC to catch up with the times and move on to FSX like many people have or are likely going to do, moving on to far more complex planes than FS2004. But just today, while thinking about my new PC, it hit me, I've been using FS2004 for almost 10 years now, rarely even fiddling with FSX untill the order of my PC a few days ago. In those 10 years I've made many fond memories with FS2004, the first big one was the PMDG 747, which really made simulating fantastic. I love FS2004, with all my heart, and it holds a special place in my heart for being the sim that really brought to life flight simulation…

I've been inactive from Flight Simulator for about 6 months because of school and go pro e-sport game. Now I have plenty of time to enjoy FS again  For the past 6 months are there any new good addons for Fs9? Aircraft, sceneries,ultilities...And in the near future? I just look around and see iFly upgraded their 737 to 3.1 and AES upgraded to 2.24. Thanks all! I'm updating my AI to the newest flightplans from Alpha India, this could take me days Dusts are all over my joystick

For me at the least. Just yesterday, while researching the DC9, I happened to stumble upon Retro AI. Now those of us here who know me well enough might know that I primarily used FS2004 in the past months for CalClassic stuff for flying 60's style. Well RetroAI, which offers traffic from the 40's to the 90's, gives me the chance to sim my favorite period in aviation, the 80's, when Classic 747's and 737's could fly among the more modern 757's and 767's at the same time. The best of both worlds! I think I could really keep FS2004 alive instead of scrapping it for FSX, not entirely sure (you'll find out why in a moment) but a good thought at the least. The reason I'm no…

Hi FS9 folks, the title says it already. I want to move on from my "only propliners" attitude and try a jet, but it has to be vintage. I just don't know if I stay with a jet for long (many years ago a made some flights with iFDG A319, but I found them - with one word - boring), thats why I will try freeware first. Searching a freeware 737-200 I found the TinMouse v 1.32. More recently, the TinMouse got quite good reviews. Is it still really good for me (as I see myself as beginner on the area of jetliners), or is there a better recommendation? Edit: 2D-panel is a "must", VC not. Thank you very much in advance Harald

In an about-face QualityWings has confirmed on their forum that FS9 will no longer be supported Apparently sales of their Ultimate BAE were not as expected (reaching only approx. 25%) that, and the excessive time to convert from optimised native FSX, killed the Boeing 787 project for FS9. They acknowledge many dislikes /brickbats are likely following their very 'tough' decision.
