As a very long term user of FS9, seldom with major aircraft problems, all aircraft are now experiencing the same failures with electrics or some other component... Whether on the ground or in flight the electrics cut out randomly (sometimes will cut back in again), gear and flaps fail to operate (being no electrical power to operate the hydraulics, etc), no radio (vhf/nav comms), no autopilot etc, no civa and so the list goes on. Has the FS decided to play tricks and reconfigured itself? It is akin to something in real life that is short-circuiting the electrics or a loose wire! Any pointers as to what could be causing this would be most welcome, thank you. …

Hi I accidentally removed a scenery file from SCENERY/CITIES folder, the folder being SYDNEY. Here's the series of events as to what happened: 1) Bought a new version of YSSY 2) Had previous payware YSSY scenery from a company called CLS (although did not remember who at the time this happenned) 3) Found a folder called "Sydney Professional" in Add-on Scenery folder so asusmed this was whole airport 4) Deleted from sceenry list in FS, clsoed FS and then removed folder 5) Installed new YSSY and opened FS. Saw some of the older scenery showing through 6) Closed FS and uninstalled new YSSY 7) Opened FS and could see some buildings etc from original payware. No…

After all these years with FS9, Disc 4 still sits in the CD Drive always waiting for the next FS9 use! Perhaps it comes with age and resisting change, but is it possible to use FS9 without the use of Disc4 having to be in the CD Drive unit? An answer to the above will be most welcome. To take this further, can it be placed elsewhere on a network (a different location to that where FS9 is located)? Sauviat

I found these Really Nice Simulated Traffic, Basically what this little addon does is add tiny moving lights that ride along the Roads in FS2004 worldwide. It pretty much Simulate's Traffic headlights to add a bit of realism to your flight. Arrrrghhh, dont like things like this because it generally involves me having to re-install my entire FS (days of work despite backing up stuff!) I recently attempted to install the new Xi'an scenery available on avsim. When I next opened FS9 after pasting it into my addon scenery folders and effects folders etc, it updated scenery files as usual when you install new sceneries, but then I got this message: Error - FS9 Failed to read from file It then crashed to desktop. Any subsequent attempts to open flight sim have resulted in the same error message and CTD. I have deleted all of the files added with the Xi'an Scenery (bearing in mind its not even entered …

I have no GA traffic for Canada. Is there a Canada traffic file at Avsim that I can download, use Traffic Tools to decompile, put in the GA aircraft I want to use, and recompile? Airline traffic in Canada hasn't been a problem for me. Thanks

Two days ago, I was playing around with random settings. I accidentally came across a full moon. It rose just as the sun set. I thought the scene was beautiful. I managed to not pay attention to the time nor the date (I had set it to something else just before flying). If anyone can help me find a time and date for it, I would be glad. The location I need it to appear is at KSME and during winter. The only mod I have for the sim is the "fs9.exe" file that allows gameplay w/o the CD.

Hi I had 2 FE.dll ctds and 4 Out of Memory crashes in less than 2 hours. I tried like 7 times in the same airport, in the same gate, same FS time and the same aircraft. 6 attempts, 6 ctds. Since moving to Windows 7 and upgrading to intel i5 2500k, I never had Out of Memory crashes, it says my hard drive is full. From what I have been searching, FE.dll is mainly caused by faulty textures, either AI or scenery. And I had OOM when using XP years ago and had hard times dealing with OOM and BSOD, and Windows 7 has been stable until today. My question is, can faulty texture (FE.dll) cause Out of Memory? can faulty textures be read as Out of Memory? I have 4 GB RAM, …

I'm looking for an add-on that would allow me to see the overcast forecast On a radar. Kind of like the picture below for fs2004Active sky 2012 would have been great but is not for FS9

I recently had to reload XP and when I loaded FS9 I noticed a problem: On any add-on aircraft when I'm looking forward in the cockpit and try to look to the side or back my picture freezes and I have to wait for a few seconds before it comes back to the forward view. I have a Saitek X52 and this happens either using it or the number pad on the keyboard. I seem to be able to go to the views outside the aircraft (tower view, etc.) with no problems. This doesn't happen with the default aircraft. I found that if I load FS9 in safe mode the problem also goes away. Also, if I delete the panel there is no problem. Ive used FSX Follows on the iphone for FS2004 And it actually worked.But Id like to install a program that will allow me to track my flights using my laptop? From my host PC( through my network) Any suggestions?

What is a good (user or developer supported) AI (freeware or payware) for FS9.1?

I've suddenly had a problem with using zoom in the VC in fs9. In external, top-down, and tower views, etc, the zoom works fine; backspace resets it, and the +- keys zoom in and out. However, in the VC, this doesn't happen- then pan rate is much higher than in other views, and zoom remains fixed at the default value. Deleting the fs9.cfg has no effect. I'm not using active camera. Any ideas? thanks

Hi to all, I bought a new PC with WIN7 64, 8GB ram, and running at 4.5GHZ CPU and 8GGB GPU. so power is not an issue. Now after my full install, all my AI, Scenery, mesh UT, AS6 and REX overdrive with tons of add-ons, I locked my FPS to 30 and I was getting 30 all the time no issue. Yesterday, i was flying an SGA MD95 srom SVMI - KBOS, and around KDCA I saw my sim dropped from 30 FPS to 3-4 FPS, and shut down after. I restarted and tried to continue flight, same thing crash arround same area. So tried to go to a different area, the sim run, but now my max FPS is about 15 and when I change view in the default Cessna Aircraft it drop to 1-4 FPS, tried to go to Europe ar…

Hello all, I have seen in several posts, reference made to an "Alpha Channel Utility" I believe this is a programme which sorts out scenery files and I think I may have a problem in this area. Can anyone tell me where I can download this programme (I have googled it but the resulting download pages are confusing in that I am unsure if this is the actual tool I require. ie is it a Windows tool?? Hi folks, I consider buying the ZULS Lhasa Gonggar scenery by Skysoft simulation. Unfortunately, at simmarket there's a review by a user who states that the scenery "causes a CTD - even with a clean installation of XP and FS9 - when flying elsewhere in China, north of waypoint WXI VOR, N36* 21.80', E114* 55.00' and KR Ndb, N39* 8.70', E114* 36.00'. This is on the great circle route between S.E. Asia and Alaska/Canada over Mongolia..." As I like this airport - it's my favourite chinese airport - I would like to know if this statement can be approved by other simmers before buying it. Thanks in advance Harald

Hello All, I was searching the forums (not only this one) but couldn't find an answer for my question.. Is there any add-on, or a program or anything that could animate the airport vehicles and jetways so that they service AI traffic? It would be great and highly more realistic if all aircraft (or most of them) at an airport standing at the gate were connected to an air bridge and serviced by fuel trucks, baggage loaders etc. Is it possible at all?

so i have fs9 and im trying to do the flight lessons. however reading it in 1920 screen resolution is extremly hard because its so small. is there a pdf version where i can put it on my tablet and read them?

I remember a file a long time ago that made the default red lights on various antenna towers visible in the day and for longer distances. For the life of me, I can't remember the file. Anyone have any ideas?
