Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

My FSX would 'black out' every time I choose an option in the menu like map, time, settings, etc. The sounds of the engines and ATC would still be running but FSX is completely blacked out. I tried turning off ENB by pressing SHIFT+F12 but it still would black out. It doesn't happen on short 2 Hour flights but it happens on long haul flights like in the PMDG 747. The preset I used was the 'natural' present from REX. I REALLY love ENB but if it's just acting up, I will uninstall it instead. Anyone with ideas OR have better alternatives to ENB. BTW, I do have SHADES installed but it honestly doesn't do much.

Hello everyone, there is a memory problem which is giving me a headache sometimes while flying long routes or just switching from one airport to another one in heavy scenery. I start hearing the windows-chime frequently and sometimes single textures do not get loaded and just show a black area where they are supposed to be. Changing views very often then or switching between windowed and full screen mode is very likely to crash FSX with the typical OOM message. Just installed Quality Wings BAe146 v1.3 package. When I try to switch to the RJ100 either from an aircraft in a saved flight or from a created flight, the plane appears just for an instant and then I get a CTD. Happens whether I'm in spot view or panel view when I try to load the plane from a saved flight. Tried first loading a C172 and switching to panel view before loading the plane. I'm running FS2004 on a Windows 7 64-bit system. Haven't tried loading any of the other variants but I'm assuming I'll get the same problem. Could use some help here. Thanks!

I am not sure what forum to put this under. It is related to OOM error. I did a fresh install onto a seperate HD for FSX and my addons. I have never had any problems with OOM in the past except in KLAX after a long flight. Now I installed KJFK V2 and MSE ultra hi res NYC and within 2 minutes of loading I get a OOM error. I was in the PMDG 777. When I use REX ESS plus OD it happens immediately. I have airline density, general aviation density and vehicle density about 20% and vehicles 5%, boats 5 %. I don't know what the issue could be. I also use MyTrafficX. I like flying with lots of AI so it is more realistic. Any ideas what I could try. I changed LOD Radius…

I shut off DEP systemwide but now upon closing FSX (but not always as of yet) I get the below error. Notice the one highlighted in red. That msxml3.dll seems to be the last one in the majority of my BEX and APP crashes. Anyone know what it does and how I can maybe fix it? My flights are usually ok until I go to the flight map a couple of times then I get that pop up that says Microsoft is shutting down. Hi I have created this tutorial to help all AMD customers with the latest driver (13.9). It appears there are some serious stability issues when using Flight Simulator X with this driver version, specifically users have experienced the crash to desktop when navigating the menus whilst flying. This tutorial involves rolling back your driver to the previous version (13.4). Many people have experienced serious computer problems when trying to do this, the tutorial I have created is the proper way to do it. Hi guys, I've experienced for two times the FSX freeze just prior to reach 80kt during takeoff. I've gave a look pressing CTRL ALT CANC and the result is that "FSX is not responding". Along with many others I have been fighting "crashes to the dsaktop". This all started the 1st week of October. Finally ended up reinstalling FSX & was actually able to make 10-12 flight with no problems. At that time I attributed the errors to problems with ATI AMD driver set. I used the install procedure that is documented elsewhere here. Here is one thing that showed up at installation. This has happened each time that FSX was installed. Click in cockpit in different aircraft and the game pauses by inself. Have to hit P to go again. Just started happening recently. Haven't changed anything to do with pause in controls. Any ideas?

After reading quite a few posts in these Forums about BEX errors I'm posting as a last resort because I don't know what else to do to sort out these erors. FSX Acceleration with the following: Current Visual C++ 2005, 2008 & 2010 already installed. MicrosoftFixit50496 (Heap limitation) installed DEP turned off permanently Do not always get Bex errors with the above mentioned modules. Hi Everyone Like many, I am trying to find a sweet spot between the PMDG B777 and my payware scenery's and airports. I have read the documentation several times trying to decide what I can live with and without. From my point of view I don't see much point in having beautiful scenery and only being able to fly out and into it with low res default aircraft and no point my hot B77 and crappy looking default scenery.
