Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Hell all, I've spent quite a deal of time reading other threads to see if any fix can stop fsx from CTD. It usually happens after clicking the menu up top to change sim speed. I've tried pausing before I do it to no avail. I understand the uiautomationcore.dll may have fixed this for windows 7, but I am running windows 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm saving my money to build my own gaming pc, so I realize this laptop is not nearly ideal to run the program, but I've put the settings as low and still get the crash. Hello, Recently I have been plagued by stackhash or ntldll.dll crashes in FSX. I came across the AVSIM CTD guide which has been very helpful in helping me to try and track down the issue. But I am at a loss as the crashes continue and it's driving me mad. So far the things I have tried are: cleaing up the dll.xml files and the fsx.cfg file and removing uiautomation.dll I have pasted in the appcrash viewer log below. System specs: i7-3770 o/c to 4.6Ghz, water cooled, temps running around 40-50 celsius during FSX operation 8Gb RAM Geforce GTX670 Nothing running on FSX PC except RC. Hi I was using the FSX with four monitirs like a chime, until the OV 43 touch screen received today, I set this screen at its place above myhead, everything is good. When I go to the FSX to test, I normally run fsx on 1st screen, 2rd & 3rd screens are duplicated (as one screen so lets say its a 2nd screen) for the PFDs & NDs on the both sides, drag the NDs and PFDs and they work normally without any probs, 3rd screen to the upper/lower eicas's, drag them and everything is good, the 4th scresn for the FMCs and work normally , BUT in the 5th screen which is to the OHpanel, open the OH panel and drag it to the 5th screen ----------》 after that …

hello everybody! last night i was trying to start fsx in dx10 so i modified the cfg with D3D10=1. once the splash screen was up, the aircraft preview window was all black. And starting fsx it CTD. I also have noticed that setting D3D10 the application DID NOT HAD REBUILT the Shader10 folder.... really odd. any suggestio, a part from clean reinstall ?

Hello all, My FSX starts normal, and I can do a flight that is normal. When I'm dome and want to shut FSX off, Windows well say there has been a problem then restart FSX. I can cancel out of this restart so that it will shut down. Does any one know how to fix this? OP Win 7 64. Thanks in advance, Ed

Hi all So FSX stops. Sound carries on, but all else is locked. I go to the task manager and click the Performance tab. One the eight cores is showing 100% usage and the rest essentially none. Physical memory usage is 4.24GB. The hard drive light is chugging away. On my previous fs PC, after a while (maybe two minutes, might be 10) the clogged core would drop back normal and I could carry on my merry way. With the current set up that doesn't happen. I'm flying over FTXG in a Carendo Bonanza, so not exactly pushing the limits. I'm not getting an OOM message, which I have had when getting a bit carried away. Hey guys, i'm having a problem, after spending many hours today re-installing my fsx. I have started fsx several times during installation of different addons, now suddenly this shows up: Scenery read error, attempting to open a nonexistent directory d:/fsx/terrain I have, as said, been reinstalling for many hours, and now it suddenly wont work. Hello all, I hope there is a guru amongst you that can shed some light on my recent FSX crashes. I have read the CTD guide here and it would appear the ntdll.dll is the cause of my issues. One of the causes mentions MyTraffic 5.4C, which I'm running but I'm keen to find out how I can roll back to version 5.4b without a complete MyTraffic uninstall. So far I have removed the UIAutomationCore.dll and it made no difference. I've updated FSUIPC to 4.297a as I also had a g3d.dll error right on the back of an earlier ntdll.dll error. I want to set Affinity Mask to 14. Should the format be: Affinity/Mask=14 OR should it be: AffinityMask=14 ? All posts seem to suggest Affinity Mask or AffinityMask is the correct format, but Bojotes utility set it as Affinity/Mask in the config file but uses AffinityMask in the instructions. Does it matter if the forward slash (/) is included or not? My config file has the / in the setting and I am wondering whether it is being recognized by FSX in that format.

I just recently reinstalled FSX and am coming across a problem. I use SPAD for some of my proflight stuff and also run FSUIPC for some of them as well... I have noticed that every time I switch on my batteries through my switch panel I get CTD. Has anyone ever had this issue before? Could any please help me out? Thanks so much for your time...

I picked up the Razbam Metroliner last night and had some fun with it. Everything was working perfectly. But now today when I tried loading it up, as soon as fsx loaded to 100% and I could see the world/cockpit rendered for about one second flat and then the sim would just close out. In a way that It appeared the process was killed on the task manager. No notifications of "FSX has stopped working" like I would get if something had crashed. Nothing has really changed to my FSX besides installing that new aircraft. And I recently got FSUIPC.

Hi, when I started using the PMDG NGX almost every flight I've done, a fatal error occurs and FSX crashes it usually happens when I start setting up for descent or when I'm on base or on final. The last time it did this was today and I was about 10 minutes before dissent into Santa Ana KSNA, The two times before that both times I was going into Phoenix The first time going into Phoenix I was about 5 miles from the runway Second time I was on pace for runway 25L getting ready to turn onto Final. My son (12 y/o) has had FSX for about 4 years and has not had any significant trouble with it until today. FSX worked fine for him last night and now it just won't start. The task manager says that it's not responding. I have scoured various forums to find a solution to no avail, so I'm hoping someone here can help. I have done a system restore and followed the steps to fix a corrupted logbook (which seemed to be the most common cause of this type of problem), but nothing has worked. Recently I've been doing more flying with the PMDG747 and now lately I seem to be getting this constant CTD during flight that tells me "YOUR COMPUTER HAS RUN OUT OF AVAILABLE MEMORY. PLEASE RESTART FLIGHT SIMULATOR AND SELECT DIFFERENT GRPAHICS, SCENERY, OR TRAFFIC SETTINGS." Sometimes I get this CTD with default aircraft but the PMDG seems more frequent. My system has 4GB of RAM and Windows XP is reporting that it sees 3.25GB. Should'nt that be enough? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
