Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Hi guys, I've been getting a weird problem with fsx recently. The game loads up perfectly fine and I choose my aircraft, set the route etc. however when I press fly now I sometimes get the loading bar come up on the screen with my desktop background still showing rather than the black background. I hear the engines running but see nothing! Sometimes, however, it does load fine and I see the cockpit, hear the sounds etc. but this times when I go to open the GPS or map and even speed up or down the real time fsx just cuts off! I would appreciate if someone can help me please? Thanks.

Hey i don't know where i should post this but heyo. i have an app called appcrash view on windows 7 and it logs all your CTD but now its not logging my CTD and either is event viewer on windows 7

Maybe some of the CTD experts can help me? I've been having several CTD mid air. Actually FSX seems stable but out of the blue it hangs and have to be closed. I havent been able to complete a flight for a few weeks now. I've tried reinstalling everything from ground up following NickiM's bible thread and read almost every post about similar situation and everything is "tweaked" and should be working properly, but no! On FSX start up everything seems fine except when I go to the "FREE FLIGHT" screen the display is blank. The music,aircraft,weather,location,time,etc all seem normal accept the display area where the turning aircraft should be is blank. If I wait a while and just press "fly now" it will quickly start to load and CTD. Everything was going fine and the last thing I can remember trying to do was to re-install the New York Airports X scenery. After a restart I now have this problem. During my last flights in FSX I have experienced a ping sound and FSX goes to windowed mode. Then I can see that a window has opened telling me that I have run out of memory. If I press the OK button FSX exits. If I don't I keep hearing this ping sound repeatedly but FSX continues to run. I have encountered CTD before but that has happened without any warnings. Also those CTD has been rather rare. Now it happens fairly soon so I find it strange that memory should already be low. I'm getting another crash, stack hash first it was the kernelbase.dll but thats gone since doing a windows 7 repair, well i hope. There just all linin up lol Alot of people are saying to turn off my OC as this is causing it to be unstable. Can i safely turn it off and see if my crashes go away? Hello, been using FSX for a few years now and keep having the odd problem with it, but usually managing to fix it. This time, i'm having to post a question of my own because I can't find a solution elsewhere. As far as I know, this hapens with any aircraft, in any location. What happens is that whilst running the sim, whether taxiing or flying or whatever, it keeps freezing completely for a few seconds at a time, then it all continues again. The only thing I can think of to compare it to is like a video stopping to buffer. (I'm not saying that's the cause, it's just a comparison). Any ideas? hi, I have 2 fs9 installs: one classic one and one with a fs-world with traffic and sceneries from 2014. The 2014 one crashes since this morning right after startup. I guess it is since I reinstalled a payware scenery (FsDreamteam LSGG). I must assume it is related to the resolution as it crashes when it is meant to switch from splash-screen to the create-flight window. Can anyone help? Cheers Sabi

What would you simmers say loading up PMDG 737 ngx aircraft constantly or loading up the saved flights that came with it from PMDG was causing a stack hash CTD? Well this week i have been practicing takeoffs and approaches with the pre saved tutorial 2 flights but after 10 minutes of loading up the flights (roughly 10 mins) i was getting CTD stack hash. I would load it up wait till the count down timer had gone and off i go once done i would re load the flight and do it again but later on i would get a CTD. Dear All, I have some CTDs at the german Aerosoft airports. The CTD have to do with the AI-Traffic, because if I change the time, all works fine. If I disable the traffic at the CTD time, all works also fine. I have tried and was succesfully to find the "corrupt" traffic file, I have delete them, some flight possible. Now same issues. Is there any possibility to find out which traffic file or which texture of the AI Aircraft is the problem, whitout try and error. Hello, Here's my problem I have just reinstalled FSX a couple weeks ago after having many issues with it before with an other problem. Now, I own copies of GSX, YVR, LAX, LAS, FLL, ORD and JFK that all use this poor add-on manager system. I also own Flightbeam's KIAD scenery but had not reinstalled it until today, and then I go to start my FSX again and it doesn't even open. I looked on many forums all saying, you must disable your anti-virus and what not... blah blah. Ok, after hours of trial and error, still nothing happens! Hi Guys Lately I'm noticing a lot of "fatal errors", where the sim freezes for a few seconds before getting the "fatal error" message and then CTD. I believe this is different to an OOM, but am unsure what causes this problem? I never got it when running in DX9 mode. Is this a common issue? Does anyone have any tips as to what causes it? Hi folks, Yesterday I did a repair installation for FSX (with the disks). Now when I start FSX it chrashes after a few seconds. It says: 'a fatal error has occurred.' And after that it says 'FSX has stopped working.' I don't have time to reinstall FSX and ALL the addons. Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling FSX completely? kind regards, Jorrit..

Hello all I seem to get a constant fsx crash now when landing at airport's. It first happened when flying from Gatwick to Jersey I had parked up on a stand and fsx suddenly froze and the fsx is restarting message came up. Out of the blue, FS9 refuses to start. The splash screen flashes a fraction of a second, then FS9 closes. There is no BSOD, no error message, no event in the Windows event log. It seems to just exit cleanly. The task mgr shows FS running for a couple of seconds. I have made no (known) changes to my FS since my last flight. What I have tried: - restore Windows to a point prior to my last good flight - disabled all non-stock sceneries (although it does not get as far as renewing the scenery index) - deleted FS9.cfg. Dear all, I am fighting with the CTDP and only one least problem still apears. I recently found that I better run without any overlocking (at least till I install brand new AC power supply). so after cancel the overlock everything now runs smooth and fine (i5, 8GB RAM, GTX660Ti), but form time to time I get CTDP with error of DINPUT8.dll.
