I was finishing a flight from ZSPD to KJFK in a PMDG MD-11. As I was exiting the runway at JFK I started getting the OOM dinging noise but wasn't worried as I had finished my flight. Then I remembered a discussion from a while ago about freeing up memory switching from windowed mode to full screen mode. As I always fly in windowed mode I thought I'd give it a try. I brought up Process Explorer and, no surprise, I was very close to the 4gb limit. I then switchd FSX to full screen mode. I then had to use ctrl-esc to bring up Process Explorer and when I did I had only 3GB showing as used by FSX. So I freed up 1GB in VAS by switching from windowed to full screen? Doesn't soun…

A bit frustrated. Updated patch according to instructions and now I get OOMs every time I attempt to change aircraft, or change airport or change scenery settings. This never happened in V2.3. Anyone have similar experience?

Hey guys, I am having the same issue. Every time I attempt a flight over the Canadain Rockies from CYYC to CYVR for example I get a CTD. I also have My Traffic Installed but was having same issue when it was not installed. I am running the NGX with ASN and Orbx Global Vector. Not sure exactly what it is but I have ran the event viewer and it appears that ntdll.dll is crashing FSX. Thanks for any help you can provide me! Cheers, Brad

  13. I've been dealing with a number of problems, and one of them is a frequent CTD, which seems to point to the uiautomationcore that is supposed to fix crashing from clicking too many things on fsx, should I remove it and replace it, or remove it and see if fsx runs better without it?

Just recently FSX started experiencing fatal errors. Strange as it is, I only get them when I load up somewhere I have addon scenery. If I load up at a stock FSX airport, my sim is fine. I experience the CTD about 5 seconds after loading up. If you have any ideas or need more information, please let me know. -Daniel

  17. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has come across this odd problem. I have FSX with sp1 and sp2 installed as a clean install on a brand new machine with windows 7 home premium and with everything (including drivers) fully up to date. If I start the computer and load FSX within the first 5 minutes, all is well. If I wait over 20 minutes say, it won't boot saying it has a fatal error. Once fired up, it will run for hours with no problems. The same problem does not occur with P3D, but much of my add on collection may not be compatible with P3D, so I still want FSX to be working. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rich

Ever since finishing the build of my new flightsim computer three weeks ago I have been trying to get FSX to work with my 737NGX, unsuccessfully up till now. When trying to load a previously saved flight with the NGX FSX crashes after 3% loading. The fault module is the PMDG737NGX.dll. It is possible to load the default ultralight at an airport and then change to the PMDG. I can then go and fly. Problem is, after every crash FSX reverts to default and I lose all my hardware settings so I spend an hour getting all my hardware to work again. I disconnected all my hardware (Saitek yoke and rudder, Opencockpits FMC, MCP, COMM, 2 X NAV, ADF, XPNDR, g throttle, Ar…

The error show a Faulty module C:\Windows\system32\nvd3dum.dll.. I am getting frequent crashes...wondering if there is a solution. I've been using A2A Cessna 172 (with July 2014 update) in free flight at highest realism and graphics settings....Computer is only about 2 months old, running Windows 8.1 (Asus G10AC, Intel Core i7-4770 @ 3.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM. NVidia GeForce GTX 760 with 3 GB GPU). Had infrequent crashes with FSX on this computer, nothing like what it is doing in the last few days. 25. I have a pretty robust system (6 core i7-3930K) with 8GB RAM and a GTX580 1.5GB VRAM. I use mainly photoscenery without autogen in the US and fly small GA aircraft such as the A2A Skyhawk and Cherokee. Up until now I have really never had an OOM crash, except in NYC when I had enabled HD textures. I have since reduced my max texture to 1024. Yesterday I started to get crashes with the FSUIPC VAS alarm (ding, ding, ding) going off, but FSX.EXE was using around 1.9GB according to Task Manager. Is there a way to log VAS and specifically the process using it? Does the moment of task swapping out of full screen to a window cause VAS to be reduced by close to 2GB?
