Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Anyone know of any issues that would cause FSX to crash with no error message? It only happens when I use replay but not every time. FSX simply closes to desktop. No error message and nothing in Windows 7 event viewer.

Can anyone help me? Just purchased ASN and installed both updates (except the key one) and every single time I try and load it, the program will crash within seconds. It will say "Please Wait" at the main page and "Initializing" at the bottom grey bar. After a few seconds of waiting, about 10-20, it will just close with no error message and the icon at the bottom task bar will disappear. I run Razer Game Booster but its not open when ASN is. I spent $60 for a weather engine and now I have a program that crashes. Kind of disappointed for the price I payed thought a program like this would work fine off that bat. I started receiving this pop-up box from FSX that states "Failed to read from file". This came at the end of 2 flights and I was able to ignore the box and then taxi and park, once I clicked Ok on the box, FSX crashed. Something else I noticed at the time was the beeping sound that I believe is the FSUIPC warning for a possible impending OOM crash, however I never got an OOM crash. Ive been getting a crash while flying the pmdg 737ngx over megascenery areas. The crash happens while flying over new mexico and southern california. In new mexico it is approx. 65nm east of the SSO VOR. I dont have the exact location of the socal crash but it is south of the PMD VOR. The crash is reproducible every time using a saved flight file, but only occurs when the offending mse areas are activated in the scenery cfg. The sceneries all installed without a hitch. So after doing a reinstall of Windows 7 a while ago, I finally got round to reinstalling FSX (Deluxe Ed), however I'm having loads of issues with it. I complete the install, pop in my activation key and it says it's all done and good. Then when I try to start FSX, it goes through building sceneries and indexing the databases (or something like that), but then the screen flicks black as if it's changing resolution and the splash screen disappears. I don't get any form of error message or crash message, there's nothing in the Event Viewer to indicate what keeps happening - the splashscreen just disappears without warning. Well, it wasn't really a crash, but I was on a flight from KPIT to KBOS and cruising at FL350, and then in mid flight, FSX blacked out. I then tried reopening FSX but that failed. I then just decided to exit FSX and ended the flight. I am now a little frustrated. I have FSX standard with the two service packs, Radar Contact, FSRealWX Lite, FSUIPC, WOAI and AISmooth. My computer is an I7 with am AMD graphics card. Do you know what happened here? Thanks.

Hi Guys I can barely finish (or sometimes even start!) a flight these days without a CTD of some kind This is the latest one, which I've never seen before (this particular faulting module). Hi everyone Whenever I plan a longer route to fly in my ngx I get an error message saying MS FSX has stopped working and my computer closes fsx. I have tryied to find an answer in the forums but haven't had any luck yet... Hi Guys, I've been getting a problem with FSX. Unless I use DirectX 10 preview mode in setting, after clicking on Start Flight the Fsx crashes. I have Windows 8.1 op system and FSX with Accelaration (I didn't install SP2 I know they are incompatible). I've tried to run DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer to install DirectX 9c but it says that a newer or equivalent version has been installed, no install needed. I've also tried to run the installer from the FSX's disk but it also didn't work. I would like to use DX9 because I've some addons (Scenery, AI) which don't work under DX10. Hi, first my ctd-story. I upgraded from a GTX 570 to a Gigabyte GTX 770 about 2 months ago. Evreything including "games" like XPlane or Arma3 ran stable and at highest levels of detail, but not FSX and P3D. Both always crashed - no matter what settings, addons, modules etc -, sometimes already after 2 minutes, but after 30 minutes at the latest. The Crash reports showed numerous dll-faults (among them ntdll and dinput8), but most of the times StackHash. I reinstalled FSX with no luck, testing my complete hardware (memory, CPU, GPU) showed no negative results. hello folks hope you well....... i have NGX installed on my machine (i7 2600K 5:0GHz, 8GB 2133Mhz, ASUS GTX 680 DCUIIT) with fs2crew voice control, REX4, FSGRW, Pro ATC X, PFPX, TOPCAT and everything is okay, till the 1st 35 minute, after 35 minute of preparation my flight i get BEX CTD (MSVCR80.dll). i cannot fly for along time, and yesterday i just finish my format (due to this problem but its still). in shortly i have read so many posts today and i belive my problem is 90% from my C++Microsoft Visuals. so i need to know all of the C++ visuals and the correct ones FSX needs to run without this bad crash problem.... sorry for the prolongation guys. My FSX will freeze and a Microsoft Error report will come up. It shows a module that has caused a problem, This being the D3DCompiler_43. It is the latest version I have checked in my Windows files. This is on Windows 8.1. I tried searching other related issues about this but none are specific to my issue. The crash does not show in the AppCrash view or events logs. The only information available is through a Microsoft error report.

I have just acquired 8.1 Pro & cannot get very far in FS Deluxe. The program keeps crashing, usually when I press the alt key. Was just able to fly a pre-installed mission but when I go to free flight it gets as far as setting up airplane, airport, weather but then crashes with a fatal error. It all worked well with windows 7...there's no going back though! Getting very frustrated. Windows 8.1 Pro 3.3 GHz 64Bit. 8GB RAM

hey guys, recently i did a long hauler from lppt to egll, everysingle time on approach i get an oom. this is the first time ive had this ever when doing this long haul flight. normally i fly from egcc to egll cause of time constraints. every signle time in on approach i get an oom, why? this is so annoying. ive tried to read other posts ut they just explain to why you get an oom error. the iarcat is a 777 pmdg, with gex and rex, uk2000 egll my system: i5 2500k hd 6870 8gb ram any help, thanky guys!

For some time I've been having a problem with my sim minimising to desktop from full screen. Causing no end of angst! In trying to trace it down I was able to delete 2 or 3 spurious programmes that did nothing other than to waste computer time. The problem still persisted however. The one common thing that I noticed was that it always minimised at a set time past the hour. I went through everything looking at .ini files etc and found nothing conclusive. Hi, I'm being plagued by crashes .. The worst is when it happens well into the middle of a flight, and I have to start all over again .. They seem to just come out of the blue and the program just dies .. I've looked through the CTD Guide and tried a few things - including rebuilding .cfg, turning off my GPU overclock, verifying the .NET versions, and cranking the graphics settings down.
