Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

For this specific CTD it's been happening randomly. I could be in cruise, or just switching views. It's happened in cruise with both the pmdg ngx and the aerosoft airbus x extended. My computer information should be in my sticky. The specific flights were TNCM-KATL (crash cruise) KSTL-KDAL(crash cruise) loaded up at KDAL and went to external view for a crash. Hi, Here's me thinking I was finally getting to grips with FSX and its recurring problems (Run Time Error caused by TrafficX traffic file etc.), when I go to load up FSX I now get an error message saying:- "Your computer has run out of available memory. Please restart Flight Simulator and select different graphics, scenery, or traffic settings." How can I when I can't get pass the opening screen I rant!! Did a perfect flight yesterday with no traffic selected and shut down, nothing added to any files. FS9 works brilliantley. When I fly and close out the program, I always get the message about it having problems closing so I click ok to close the program to clear the message. When I go to reopen the program it just sit there on the first screen. When I go into the task manager, it states FSX is not responding ... the only way I can get it to open again is to reboot the system. Any idea what is happening and how to correct the situation? While flying My Majestic Dash 8 the plane will stop in the air, but everything else is moving. The water, instruments, cars , etc. The freeze usually lasts about fifteen seconds. What do you think it can be ? Thanks

Hi all! Whenever I try to play FSX after about a minute it crashes saying it ran out of memory. I didn't used to do this. Just in the past few weeks. Computer Specs: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.00GHz 4096MB of Ram(~4GB) 750 GB HD with 132 GB remaining Any help?

Hi, I'm new to FSX simming. I have my system configured so that FSX is now running very well and very smoothly except for one issue. I get a CTD when accessing the Nav Log from the knee board (shift + F10). The faulting module is MSVCR80.DLL. I've tried both versions of the UIAutomationcore.dll file and neither one fixes this crash. I've found other threads discussing a MSVCR80.DLL crash, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what will fix it. Does anyone have any clues? I have a fresh install of FSX, along with add-ons. I did not back up my rewards stuff and I am now re-flying these. I have found that on several occasions I get a crash. Faulting module is ntdll.dll if I look it up in the crash reports. Odd thing is that I never gat a crash in the sim when flying PMDG NGX - and I have flown countless hours now since the re-install. Never once a crash but I can almost be sure to get a crash in the missions. I can usually repeat and finish the mission but it is irritating. Any ideas on where to look?

Often, when I'm on approach to a major airport in a major plane, the game gives me an OOM. It's extremely frustrating because I spent 3 hours flying from Madrid to Frankfurt today and the game crashed while on final. Last week, I flew from Istanbul to Thessalonki. Everything looked so nice when I actually landed but when I got off the runway, I get a OOM. Last month, I was doing the SimCheck A300 tutorial flight and while on approach to London, it gave me a OOM. On all of these situations, my FPS was locked at my 20 setting. Hello, I was forced to restore my Windows 8 and by doing that I had to reinstall fsx. After a day of tweaking and installing I finally setup a flight on IVAO from Valencia by AKESOFT to Zurich by Aerosoft on the Airbus X Extended. Just recently FSX started freezing after I complete a flight and turn the avionics master switch off. It doesn't matter what airplane I am flying, or what airport I am located at. After landing I taxi in and start the shut down process, when the avionics master switch is turned off the sim freezes and I have to use the task manager to shut it down....this is while using the Reality XP 530W. The only thing I have changed recently was the latest update to Active Sky Next. Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks, John

If FSX freezes in flight, it might show an AppCrashView report showing BEX/StackHash and/or NTDLL.dll as the faulting modules, sometimes these crashes will alternate between the faulting module as StackHash and NTDLL.dll. This has been traced by me to an access violation. It happens because your user account is not shared with the main FSX folder. Some have fixed this (or they think they have fixed it) by installing FSX outside of the C:/Program Files (x86) folder (i.e., in something like C:\FSX). You don't have to do this and can keep FSX/P3D in the default Program Files (x86) folder. You can fix these types of crashes by downloading and installing a simple program …
