Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

I have just updated the sim to version 3.2 but after a few minutes the sim crashes to desktop with the app error named Stackhash. This has only occurred following the 3.2 install and apart from a complete reinstall do not know where to go next. Any advice/ comments would be appreciated and many thanks in advance. Michael

have been running without issues until now. Everytime I start a flight the application crashes, even the default content. I have tried deleting the prepar3d.cfg and all the usual fixes, but no luck. Hello, I recently updated to P3D V3.2, and for somereason it keeps on OOM (out of Memory). Its weird because i get 60 FPS and it just freaks out. any tips. D.Lifrieri

Well i can hardly report anything except P3D crashed with no report in event viewer. I have also got appcrash downloaded, but that useless because nothing gets sent to that anymore, nothing is getting logged. The crash happened about 9hrs into my test flight which i left the NGX at a set altitude and height. I'm using P3D V3.2, 737NGX, Orbx global, vector, open LC europe. Any ideas why nothing is sent to event viewer?

I've been a long time user of FS9, but in late 2014 I decided to give FSX a try. Before installing FSX Deluxe Edition for the first time, I made sure that my video drivers were up to speed and my hard drive was cleaned up. I also read up on the installation of FSX just to make sure I was doing everything correctly. Hey Pilots! First, I know there are many many possible reasons for such a problem, but I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced such a crash and maybe a solution for it. THE PROBLEM: Yesterday FSX was starting as normal. Today when I start it (yes, as admin) I can see the splashscreen. But after 15sec or so it disappears and thats it. BUT, when I trie to start FSX again and again, it will work at some point... so to say, it will start on the third or fourth trie. Gentleman, I now randomly have been receiving the NTDLL crashes after having no problems for months. Its consuming me. I am at work now reading every forum for answers.

I recently started to get MSVCR80.dll CTD's when switching aircraft. I can start in any but get this event failure when I change. The only thing I did recently was add some addon scenery, the Carenado Hawker and update my Orbx to 1.40. I had been primarily flying the Phenom 300 but went to change plane to one that always worked and it CTDed. any Ideas???? Hi guys, after upgrading to 3.2 I experienced "Application hangs" (that's how it is called in Eventviewer). I have no idea where they come from as the error message does not state any more. No dll or whatever. P3D simply stops working after about 10 to 30 minutes into the flight. I even reinstalled Windows and P3D 3.2 to have a clean install - same issues! Then I uninstalled 3.2 and went back to 3.1 - and it works without any problems. Does anyone else have this problem? :-( Best regards, Stefan

I just finished a flight from RJTT to ZBAA, and either my joystick is acting up, or my computer is, but for whatever reason RC4 would not tell me to turn off at the next high speed etc, and whenever I tried to do anything with the joystick FSX would freeze up. It didn't seem to be a FPS issue, as when I looked at it while it was working the FPS was hovering between 30-50 fps. I haven't flown very much in a long long time so I don't remember if there was this issue previously in FSX or not. Any advice is appreciated. (Beijing Capital and I forget the one in Tokyo, I hope I have the right call signs)

I have seen other users on Avsim and LM forum and facebook posting the same problem. Selecting an airport and aircraft, hit the OK button, and instead of getting the box in the middle of the screen with the loading progress bar scale and telling what is loading like Terrain data, Autogen, etc, the box is devoid of any test or bar scale. About 5 seconds later P3D shuts down. I have done all the updates on any add on that I heard needed it for version 3.2 including the add on manager from FSDT. This is the error I get. Hello All I operate Windows 7 professional, with all updates. My desktop is an Aero theme. My operating system is on drive C, my P3Dv3.0 on drive F, and I have a backup, drive B, for P3D. I recently installed FSX Gold on drive B into a folder labeled "FSX". The only other files on drive B are the two files resulting from a Shadow Protect backup of the entire F drive. P3Dv3 operates fine. FSX launches OK, but when I launch the default flight, a warning pops up that says I have launched a program that is incompatible with an aero theme; that Windows will temporarily change to the windows default, and revert to Aero when the program closes. Hi all, I started up my computer today after months of not simming. At first, even before starting P3D 2.4, the GTX970 was crashing to black screen. I installed the latest drivers...same thing. The slightly good news is that the longer I leave the computer running, the longer it seems to be taking to crash after restart. Not sure if anyone else has had such a thing happen. I have a pretty hefty power supply BTW. Gregg

I have never had this problem before, or anything close to it. I have shut the machine off (using task manager) at least a half dozen times, and it always hangs at 86%. I've been using this same machine for at least two years, never had a problem running FSX (although at reduced settings, of course). Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Hi, Has anyone else noticed an occurrence or increase in CTDs since a recent Steam or FSX-SE update? Any time I have made any type of flight between airports recently I have got a CTD, and I noticed there was an update to FSX-SE not long ago. I didn't have any problems at all up until a week or so ago. Now I have had three CTDs in the past two days. I have been able to fly around different airports with no problem, but if I make a flight plan and travel between two airports I have been getting a CTD. I wonder if someone can help me ( I am not a high tech guy) . I did a full uninstall to my prepared V2.5 following all the steps written on the forum then done a fresh download . Without installing any add ons or flights ( still the original download) once I open and the screen comes with the default flight if I move anything ( mouse- yoke...etc) it immediately shuts down and that is it. Thanks for compiling the AVSIM Crash-to-Desktop Guide which is very easy to understand and is complete in providing instructions for troubleshooting these problems. After building a new computer with Windows 10 for FSX, I was ready to blame Windows 10 (as many have) for my repeated crash problems, especially since my Windows 7 computer has run FSX flawlessly for years. The UIAutomationcore.dll issue is not new, and I thought that I had addressed it in the new FSX install. Hey all. First post so be gentle Anyways, got P3D today along with the NGX for P3D. It worked but at one point, I decided to install some liveries. After installing a Delta -900 and two Southwest -800s with the PMDG Ops Center I started up my sim. It was in the loading screen with all the sudden "A fatal error occurred". Hi, Please help! FSX has been working fine for me for years with Win 7-64 bit. After all the popups encouraging me to upgrade to Win 10 I finally took the bait and installed Windows 10. While going through the walkaround with A2As Cessna 172 which was never a problem before, I had 2 CTDs and a "Flight Sim has stopped working" freeze. I have several ORBX sceneries along with Global, Vector, and Open LC Canada. Again I have not had a problem before. Also, I have plenty of Ram and HD space available. Any ideas? Thanks. Tom
