Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Ok, I'll post that here since I suspect it may be DX10 related but I am not sure. I currently need some help tracking down a BSOD issue that randomly happens after 10 minutes till 2 hours of flying the PMDG MD-11. Usually one would suspect unstable overclock for that, but since I flew the same route, same situation and same overclock in the PMDG 777 twice without issues, as well as pass any possible stability tests, I dont think thats the cause of the problem. Anyone has a tip on where to start? Since I understand that blue screens are never directly related to a software, I think reinstalling won't fix anything here....

Hello! I was flying from Istanbul to Cairo and near Ankara i contacted Ankara Center and after some seconds the sim quitted to desktop, without any prompt, without any event log. I started again the same flight. And it happened again at the same exact point, just after contacting Ankara Center. A third try, same. At the same exact point. A fourth time, without any addons. Same... :blink: P3D 3.3.5, Windows 10 64bit. This is out of my understanding. Could someone have any idea? Thanks a lot.

Hi I in need of some help. A while ago i posted topic in the official prepared forum, which is that I've been having issues since v3.1, in that the simulation crashes after using simulation rate greater than 8x. Once going back down to 4 and below the traffic re loads, carries on a for a few moments, then crashes. This happens regardless of any add ons installed etc. Its completely ruined my experience with prepar3d. If anyone could offer any help id appreciate it. thanks.

i DOWNLOADED THE soh a-26 INVADER WITH ALL THE FIXS, BUT i CANNOT GET IT TO RUN IN fsx acceleration. The aircraft shows in preview but when I hit fly now I get a white box where the textures normally load the a CTD. This is the only plane this happens with. I haven't touched anything with files, nor have installed anything, but randomly, my P3D just now started crashing on launch. The reason being the ai_player.dll. I deleted the file, no luck. Replaced the file, no luck. I have no traffic on, and I have 2 freeware ORBX sceneries (cause I heard ORBX had trouble with this) Please help Grant

Good evening, I have had constant crashing of my P3D over the past few days after NEVER having a problem. It appears that I am having issues after the program has been running for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes due to an unhandled exception. On viewing my event log I am showing a .NET Framework Version: v4.0.30319 failure but I should have a much more current version. Any ideas?

Following steps from the CTD Guide, I narrowed my crashes down to the dll.xml. Is this required for P3D to run? What are fixes for it? Cheers Grant

Had this problem before but can't remember the fix.. When I start P3D I see the splash screen. Then I see something loading and then the splash screen goes away and I can't open P3D. The program is still running according to task manager but I can't ope or activate it. Tried a fresh DLL.xml and config but that won't help. ***EDIT*** My god... How can I forget to update FSUIPC after installing a sim update....

Dear All, I recently started getting lots of CTDs with P3D 2.4 with the faulting module always MSVCR100.dll. Having done a load of Google searches and trying all the fixes I could find, it was still happening. I spent best part of a day disabling, testing, disabling, testing until I found the culprit. What fixed it for me was to delete the FSUIPC4.ini file and let it generate a new one. This is not a dig or accusation at FSUIPC (v4.937) but it seems to have got it's knickers in a twist about something and letting it start over fixed this particular CTD. Hi all, I get this error "display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding" when I initiate decent in the Airbus in FSX. This is a recent thing. I've rolled back my graphics driver to a previous version and still the same. The sim continues but in sound only, after the screen goes black, any ideas? Cheers. Having this problem too (NTDLL.DLL CTD). Not Overclocking (don't even know how.) constant CTD's just migrated from FSX to P3DV3 this weekend. Im still having CTDS... i truely am ready to pack it all in after 12 yrears of simming.. Its so damn frsutrating and it only happens with the pmdg 777 nothing else, Ive even up logging tickets with them I just get flobbed off. The issue im getting is P3D just closes down. Nothing in the event viewer, no OOM box comes up, Nothing. It literally disappears from the screen. Its always about 6 hours out from the flight. If I cant see the eventviewer log how can I see what the issue is. Its obviously pmdg 777 as ive hours and hours with other addons with no issues just the 777

Anyone have this issue and with these drivers? My first BSOD with Windows 10... :( Been having so many issues with Prepar3D crashing lately with no events recorded in the Event Viewer or AppCrashView, and now this. I'm certain this is due to the updated graphics driver (updated it yesterday), but still...very frustrating when you can't complete a single flight. Steve

Dear All I'm struggling with FSX Gold Edition and PMDG NGX the general appearance now lacks the 3D appearance, airports FSX and add-ons appear more like blocks than shaded realistic airports and some ground vehicles are completely white and FSX crashes early into flight, I have tried flying with/without the automation dll. which has made no difference. I recently had the computer initialized and was told my drivers/graphics cards were all appropriate for my computer indeed a higher graphic card was installed which made no difference to the scenery appearance. I am running the latest version of P3D on the most recent update of Windows 10. For the past few days whenever I hit the button to load a flight in P3D after a few seconds the screen comes up and tells me that P3D.exe has encountered a problem and will close. When I go to Windows event viewer it identifies that the offending module is gdiplus.dll version 10.0.10586.20. Has anyone any experience with this problem and what I may do to resolve it? PROBLEM DESCRIPTION I evidently have two problems with the operation of my FSX. The first I have been dealing with for over a year. My computer is about 5 or 6 years old, but it was designed and built specifically for the FSX program. I originally had the Gold Version with Acceleration. When it was installed, following tweaking, it performed for four years without any problems at all. I have aircraft only from Carenado and Alabeo and scenery only from ORBX. I just bought v3 to upgrade from v2.5, and I'm getting more instability than I ever had in 2.5. I'm running the same hardware as before and same addons in P3D, so I doubt it's an issue with my computer. Here are the event logs from the crash, one for P3D and the other for .NET runtime, as these happened simultaneously so I'm thinking they're connected (I have .NET framework 4.6.1 installed). I have just downloaded FSX-SE (five days total to download - Indonesian Internet .... power fails .... internet speed) went into set up, which was automatic and great by the way, I got two 1005 errors and a 1012 (all in scenery config) but loaded the game anyway. For the past several months, I have been having an issue with P3D in that occasionally when I move the mouse to the menu section to change location or vehicles, it freezes on the left side of the of screen, causing the computer to completely lock up. Even Pressing Control-Alt-Delete does nothing and the only option seems to be to do a hard shutdown and restart the computer.
