Hello Terry,First post here so I'm unsure if I'll get it right.I think I've found a problem in the terminal procedures for EGLL DVR sids and the LAM3A procedures. On the DVR sid, it seems that the DVR VOR at the end of the procedure is displaced to a position that is 2nm abeam or abaft of the DET VOR.On the LAM3A STAR, Tripo seems to be displaced (position unknown) and the transition also seems to have displaced LAM VOR by 20nm to the west of its radio position.Chris

Hey,Your Terminal Procedures are excellent, but just wondering if you have plans to include Canada? Just thought I'd askThanks kindlyJake

Terry,I downloaded the latest Terminal Procedures file you're offering at planepath.com and noticed that KLAX was missing the SADDE6 Star. Then I compared the procedure from the 0704a set and there was a large difference in file sizes, with the latest being quite a bit smaller. My question is were there major changes to the procedures that I can't find or is this a glitch?BTW, as always, thanks for the work you've done with these procedures and for giving them to all of us for free. I feel bad about bringing this up in light of the pricing... Regards,Jim Karn

Dear Terry,First - a huge thanks for the service you have provided over the years to us out here in the big room, who are very much reliant on your kind efforts to keep our online flying in track with the current real world. I know there are others out there in the field writing SIDs and STARs for a variety of planes, but I must be honest and say I have learned more from you over the last couple of years than any other contributor in this arena, and for that I am truly grateful. :-beerchugOkay - now to the wrinkle I think have just discovered in your latest 0705 cycle* which I downloaded for the PSS Airbus Pro series recently. On many of the SIDs (in PSSSID.DAT) I notice …

hii have read most of the posts and dont see one regards my problem, although i am sure i have read about it in the past.I have updated my pmdg 737 nav data and sids stars.if i open the sid/star data base i can see procedures for the airports i want to fly to eg LEAL but when i try to access them in the FMC i get STARS NONE APPROACHES NONEit looks like a small promblem with pmdg's fmc not recognising something in the way the procedure is writen, it would be cool if i could edit the existing file instead of starting from scratchadvice please :)

Hi again Terry,I asked this question on the PSS Forum, and Rob Elliot suggested that you might be the best person to ask.Any ideas? I seem to be having difficulties getting the PSS 'bus to respond to CR, CI, VR & VI trackcodes correctly (CR & CR just get ignored completely and the plane files off on a heading until doomsday, while CI & VI just seem to cause a far-too-early 30-degree intercept to be set up for the following waypoint in the next leg, and that isn't accurate enough to avoid traffic-conflicts on some procs).Unfortunately, as some friends of mine who use the payware service are discovering, the latest Navigraph procs seem to make heavy use of these…

Hi,When does the WpNAVFIX.txt file get accessed? Building SID/STAR?Building a flight plan in MSFS?Is it used by MSFS scenery? For example, when programming (rebuilding) a SID or STAR for the Level-D manually (using the FMC) to add a new waypoint to the SID/STAR that is not in the .txt file already. I assumed the waypoint must exist there first. But, I tried a downloaded SID and it worked in my FMC. I later discovered that a waypoint did not exist (at least I could not find it) in the .txt file. Must I first add the waypoint to this file with the LAT/LON and put it in "numerical order" with the other waypoints already in the file?Or, can SID/STARS be edited without worry ab…

Couple weeks ago we tossed around an ATL departure right off the runway, either going with a direct to fix or flying a track to intercept a radial from that fix. The differences were so close that either worked.FYI: I have found a RNAV SID that indeed specifies a track to intercept a radial from a fix ... KCLT JACAL ONE RNAV; actually, all of the new RNAV SIDs are written this way at CLT on the northbound departures but not the southbound departures. Interesting, these provide a good example of when to use a direct to fix verses a track to intercept. The directions provided are clearly different than for the directions given in the ATL departures. Therefore, I stick to my …

Terry,I was waiting for automatic replies notifications from previous posts on KATL SIDs and KATL STARs.Never got any more. From reading the posts I thought you released KATL Rev "B" but then discovered a problem wanted to check with the Level-D programmers for additional information! which would be a Rev "C" update. So, I was waiting for update "C" for KATL.Today I decided to review the AVSIM forum and found you had left a question for me on a thread (KATL saga) you started.I had read that post originally (saga), and it just told everyone that the new KATL file was ready for download. I never left a reply to it so I was not "automatically" notified when you posted the ques…

Loaded up the 0704 procedures into the LVL-D 767 from your website. I then loaded up the FMC as I always do and finally got to the point to input the DP for JKF. I selected runway 31L. I then selected the BET.CRI departure which of course stands for the BETTE3 departure with the Canarsie climb. As soon as I selected it, I was staring at my deskop. Did not even get the chance to hit the EXEC button. I reloaded a older JFK procedure file overwriting the one I got from you and it worked fine. Soemthing is big time amiss with the new JFK file for 0704 Level-D 767. thanks

Could someone please point me towards a website that shows the procedures (SIDs/STARs) and airfield diagrams for Hong Kong International. I've tried the link that's given in the NAVData Charts website/page, but it ends up redirecting to another page and I can't seem to find the required AIP charts. Thanks,Guy

Hi,KATL procedures:GEETK change to GEETK3, NOVSS to NOVSS2The KATL BRAVS4 (RNAV)SID has duplicate waypoints.Like SNUFY repeats itself. There should not be any VOR radials in the procedure. They all should be heading to altitude followed by several fixes. This is the only one I have checked so far. Will check all the KATL procedures later today after I do my taxes.File size is like 360K so maybe there are similar problems elseware in the procedures for KATL.Which US airports were updated in this cycle?

HiAll the KATL departure sids for south and west departures are not part of the current procedure file.I would like to create (.xml) departure sids using my FMC) for KATL.Where can I get the LAT/LON for new waypoints so I can manually enter them in the navdata fixes file prior to creating the sid?Like is there a reference or on-line document for all the waypoints in the USA showing there lat/lon?

Hello Terry,When we find gerneral errors in your procedures where would you like them posted? Here on the Forum? These are for PMDG.Take a look at the KLAX VTU5. The Dinty Transition is missing the FIX SUDDO and the San Marcus Transition is missing all together. The KSFO Big Sur Arrival,BSR.BSR2 has holding defined over ANJEE and SKUNK. These shouldn't be in the Procedure and would be entered into the FMS only if requested by ATC. Also there is no crossing restriction over CARME or ANJEE.It should look like this and this information is taken off the current Jeppesen Chart.STAR BSR2 FIX BSR FIX CARME FIX ANJEE FIX SKUNK AT OR BELOW 12000 FIX BOLDR AT 10000 SPEED 250 FIX …

Hi there,I'm JUST starting out writing Terminal Procedures for the PMDG 744, focussing on South Africa as it is usually left out by others, and am struggling on my second SID. I have the following:SIDSSID KOD1A RNW 01 KEEP HDG UNTIL 3.0 FROM NAVAID CTV TRK 330 INTERCEPT RADIAL 354 FROM NAVAID CTV TRK 354 UNTIL 8.0 FROM NAVAID CTV TRK 060 INTERCEPT RADIAL 032 FROM NAVAID CTV NAVAID KODESSID KOD1B RNW 19 KEEP HDG UNTIL 5.0 FROM NAVAID CTV TRK 240 INTERCEPT RADIAL 210 FROM NAVAID CTV TRK 210 UNTIL 5500 TRK 335 UNTIL RADIAL 250 FROM NAVAID CTV TURN RIGHT DIRECT NAVAID RIV NAVAID KODESENDSIDSI have got KODES1A working OK, but KODES1B just does not play ball when I put the U…

I attempted to update the procedures in a newly installed PSS B777. I updated the nav data using AIRAC 608. Next following the insert procedures using PSS Procedures 702 The SIDS updated without error; the STARS did not update. The error log states "In GetNextUserNames the error was invalid procedure call or argument"Any idea how to resolve this?

Reading Terry Yingling's guide to writing terminal procedures, I got the impression that PMDG aircraft will search the AIRAC data for any fixes that are not locally defined in a FIXES/ENDFIXES section of the procedure. However, when I actually tried to write a small procedure of my own, it seems that the FMC never looks at the AIRAC data at all when reading procedures, and every single fix used by the procedure must be defined within the procedure. Is this true?? If so, doesn't that mean that any change to a navaid requires a change to every single procedure that references it? Seems awfully inefficient.

Terry:Runway 16R/34L at KSEA Seattle Tacoma has been changed to 16C/34C, and this change is reflected in the current airac data from navigraph. I guess they're getting ready to open the new runway next to this one. Thanks for your support, especially your excellent tutorial and willingness to let us modify your procedures and re-issue (with reasonable caveats). I have enjoyed the pursuit of learning to create procedures for others, but you have been my pathfinder. Thanks again.
