Great Job Team AVSIM!Whatever the outcome, you guys exhibited outstanding planning, organization, strategy, airmanship, and awesome TEAM Camaraderie.Looking at the Map shows our route as a work of art, and you were the first team to bring the Baton Home. Great Job!Congratulations on finishing, and I look forward to the official results later on, once the other teams come home, and the Judges tally the time..To Team Sim-Outhouse and Team Flightsim, a hearty congratulations as well, as you fly the Baton towards its final destination. My apologies for missing most of the race. I am currently in Abu Dhabi and have been in Cairo, Alexandria and Muscat the last three weeks, and wasn't able to tune in as I usually do. Once again, regardless of the official outcome, the AVSIM team has done itself proud! I am very pleased to see all that have participated, the new faces on the team, and the excitement that it has generated in the team and for the viewers.Congratulations to all, and I look forward to seeing an even bigger event next year (who knows, I may be home long enough to even participate myself). Good jobs guys!

THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL RACE THREAD.Dear Fellow RTWR Pilots,Here is a "Special Rule" for 2007. The Rule is set as a Special Rule because we want to see how it works in practice before making it a General Rule. It has passed the scrutiny of the Advisory Committee, but we now want to put it out for general comment before releasing it formally. Our motivation here is to keep the RTW Race a community event. That is, the race should be kept before the eyes of the full filght-simming community and not buried away as a participant-only event. We started out on the forums. Lots of folks would secretly follow the race at work, hitting refresh from time to time. The RTWR forums got…

I have assigned a key to "push to talk". But pressing that key (~) doesn't do anything. When connected to a server, the green light next to my name doesn't lit. Neither does it in local test mode. In the past I have had it working. At first I thought it was a microphone problem, but the mic is working correctly, because I can record through the mic with windows sound recorderAny advice?Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg

Hi all,For the second year in a row, I cannot go on multiplayer.Either the FS Host is not properly configured by opening the required ports, due to a router, firewall, or other unknown reason, or someone who is on there is preventing me due to their settings running either a Router, or Zone ALarm. And if you are on a Router, maybe turn off Windows Firewall.I can connect to Flightsim's MP server and numerous others but not our own.Since last year, I even have a different router. If you are on Multiplayer, and you are running through a Router, Zone Alarm or a Firewall, you are probably the cause of me not being able to connect.if you have a router, you need to go into your …

*For use by anyone who cannot be there for the kickoff or the race itself*Just wanted to say to all pilots good luck at the starting line. Unfortunately, I will be pulling a double tomorrow at work and won't be able to attend. I'll try to keep myself updated on the first day's progress. Guaranteed, however, that I'll be popping on no later than Day Two. Until then, keep the blue side up, post well, and don't lose the baton. :)

Hi Team! Here in the calm before the storm, let me once again say that I'm sorry that I won't be there to help out. On the other hand, I've seen a bunch of new guys come in and do some really great work and the 'veterans' seems to be up to par, so I'm not terribly worried - except about mr. Murphy, of course :-eek It's been fun training with you guys, even if I didn't have as much time to do that as I would have liked. Sometime real life tends to get all too real...Lots of advice has been given and taken and there is not much more for me to say on that account - except to repeat the *very* wise words of Reggie Fields: Always set up for a good go-around - landing is seconda…

Hello everyone...This year we are going to try open our server to the public. As more and more is done using TS, its getting rather dull watching only the posts we make for baton pickups and so on.First I'd like to ask for someone to connect and stream the audio using multicast or something similar. This would save a lot of bandwidth on our server, which is limited. If you have the knowledge and bandwidth to do this please send me a PM on the forum.Others interested to listen please send me a PM with the subject: TS Access.I am doing this to avoid random people picking up on the address, using websearch and so on, and swarming the server.A few things to know...You will not…
