(Posted this on the RTWR main site forum, cross-posting here...)Let's say, for example, that the weather servers go down for some reason. When FS9 encounters this, it will *pause* with an error message. And, to the best of my knowledge, pausing flight simulator invalidates the flight in the Duenna. What happens if something like this happens and invalidates an otherwise good flight? Will the flight still count? Or will it fall into the same category as computer crashes, and force a wingman transfer or re-fly?

A heads up from our practice runs.Watch your weather and your pressure settings during the Kick-off event.FS has a weather zone boundary which you will fly across at least twice as you cross the channel. This almost always results is major changes in weather and the pressure setting.Be careful if you are flying low and using an autopilot.Reggie Fieldsfor Matt, Mike, Ian and Rob

So, I know this was discussed on teamspeak this weekend but i forget what the common consensus was. Are you using FS9 or FS10?I am working on my FSX, I keep getting CTD errors and I think its the same issue reported in the FSX forum here with a dll file and win 7 x64.We shall see. :)

John asked the Teams to be informed of this:"Hi everyone!I'm looking for 2-3 people per team who are willing to keep their team's race tracker clean and report issues they can't resolve to me. Basically, what you'll need to do is go through the baton flights your team makes and verify that they're correct and properly set up in the tracker. It's just a short time per flight, but it's impossible for me to personally keep track of everything myself .If you're interested, post your Duenna name & which team you're on here, and I'll set you up!CheersJohn"http://johannesmueller.com/fsforum/v...f8bc11857761d5Rob

It will be zero'ed out the morning of the race. Please use IE7+ or FF3+ to view it as I do not know if it will view properly in Google/Safari. This is what it should look like. You can find it at http://rtw.eamonnwatson.comQuestions and comments are welcome...

Flight Simulator Around The World Race Home (Edited by Sonar5 to insert race Home) It's our pleasure to today reveal to the community a preview of this year's race. We're not revealing too many details, but we want to give everyone a heads-up about certain things. We'll monitor the various team forums and, of course, our own forum on this website, for questions. 1. Weather. In 2010 all pilots will use the MSFS Default (Jeppesen) weather engine. Select Real weather with 15 minute updates (if you can possibly do so). It is now apparent that we need a level playing field with respect to the weather. Other weather systems have terrific features, but the need …

Hello fellow race team members. I will try to follow the race when time allows I wish I had the time to fly a few legs but things are a little harry now which is why I did not want to enter and then not be able to fly a leg, Which makes every one scramble to cover the missing pilot. So do not be surprised if you see me at a airport here or there waiting and marking the place to land. I will try to inform you of the difficult to locate runways if I can.Go team AVSIM. :(

Hi All-edit to add the return trip legs-As mentioned, I have an idea for sunday practice.Let's go to Norway and fly then enitre length, then perhapsreverse.A first cut hop list would be:ENCN-ENHD-ENBL-ENFA-ENST-ENBO-ENEV-ENSR-ENHV, some 998 NM in all.Shortest leg 90 nm, longest 165 nm. The airports have been chosen randomly, some are small some are larger. If we decide to reverse the route from Cape North,I may choose some special airports like Tromso and a few others - I like Sandane for instance. And for the return trip:ENAT-ENTC-ENDU-ENSK-ENRA-ENNM-ENML-ENSD-ENSG-ENSN-ENCNThe round trip is now 2031NM. One leg is very short, ENTC-ENDU but both airports are, lets say, inter…

It is too quiet around here. I just reinstalled FS X on a Western Digital 500GB Caviar Black Drive with 32MB Cache and I am seeing much better performance there. Now if the default textures were not so lame.Looking forward to some flying.

When: Saturday 1/16 1400 UT 0900 EST 0700 MST - Europeans feel free to start earlier. Time to get as many people online as possible for a live practice session. WOuld be good to try the official VPN connection and TeamSPeak 3, but we can fall back to my server if required.Proposed route for practice under live race conditions. The legs are about 250nm long. This distance should allow practice of a full climb, cruise, and the all important descent planning. The legs should take about 45 minutes or so and provide a good race simulation. This route is only a proposal and there are plenty of opportunities to shorten the legs if we feel the need to spend more time practicing …
