All,This is what the race would look like visually. The green airport is starting/ending location, yellow airports are possible bonus airports, red airports are closed, red areas are restricted airspace, green areas are areas we have to land in. The black lines are 40 South and 65 North.Should be interesting.

I know it usually starts on the saturday after Valentine's day, which would make it on February 19th... But, does anyone have a more official start date for the 2011 race? I'll need some idea soon, since I have a couple other things I'll have to work around the race so it doesn't interfere...And could we get the countdown clock updated on the fsrtw site accordingly? ;)

  10. Started by StoneC0ld,

Is anyone else here able to post or view the Duenna attachments over on the sim-outhouse forum? I just discovered that I don't have access to view any attachments, and when I tried posting a message there to ask about it, apparently I'm not allowed to post a message either...Or did I miss something in something I have to do to restore this access?

Hi AllLast year we did a Norway round-trip ENCN-ENHV-ENCN.I don't think we ever got it completed, so I suggest we do it again this year, with a few modifications, like going all the way to Kirkenes.Outbound trip:ENCN-ENHD-ENBL-ENFA-ENST-ENBO-ENEV-ENSR-ENHV-ENKRHomeward trip:ENKR-ENAT-ENTC-ENDU-ENSK-ENRA-ENNM-ENML-ENSD-ENSG-ENSN-ENCNAlmost 2200NM, should be enough for a few hours...Also, plenty of night landings - and mountains! What say you? Should we try this next weekend, like SAT 05FEB11,Maybe 1600UTC? NEWCOMERS: You are most welcome to join, this is a golden opportunity tofly "as real as RTWR gets".BRGDSSven

I've watched this race for several years now, and near as I can tell it's all about time and distance and nothing more. Is that correct?I wonder if anyone's ever considered adding fuel use into the equation? Such that the team that uses the least amount of fuel due to optimum flight planning gets a bonus.

Time to get the ball rolling on some practice flights for the upcoming RTW race. Only a month to go so we all need to get up to speed with the art of forum posting, running the Duenna software, actually flying legs without crashing, etc. After a bit of discussion we propose to run last years race back to front. Folks,Since we probably won't have the opportunity to fly them in the race, I would like to propose an On-line Concorde Team flight. The proposed leg is SCIP-SCTE. This is a reprise of the final leg of the Concorde Conundrum from the 2005 RTWR. The full story of that event can be read here starting at the end of page 17. I propose that we should fly on the weekend to maximise possible participants. My schedule is very flexible on the weekends so I am open to changes. How about Sunday January 16, 16:00 UTC?Meet on Buzz's Hamatchi multiplayer and teamspeak.Of course all AVSIM veterans are invited to join the on-line session regardless of what they are flying. I thought …

Hey all,152 Days till the race.....Kind of a slow day in work for me so I thought I'd bug you all. Where is everyone and what is everyone up to? Its been very quiet around here. I've been just starting to work on updating the bonus bank for 2011 and putting together a nice tracker for us for the race similar to the map I hastily put together this year. I am also gonna install a backup forum on my webserver as well.. Something without ad's. :)I'll post more as we get closer and i get some work done on it and see what you all think and maybe some input from you all. :)Hope you guys had a great summer.
