Just a heads up about salt_air's (Austin's) devising a Fall event using Radio Range navigation. Sounds a very interesting challenge. Still in the planning stages at the moment.http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=38512

The RTW is known as a test of skills, planning, willpower, and endurance. The 2010 edition of the race did not disappoint in any of these regards. Now it's time to go back and relive some of the drama and excitement of the race. PLP is proud to release this video commemorating the 2010 running of the RTW. Enjoy!

  6. Just had to share this with you guys......For my birthday, my wife suprised me with an hour of flight simulation at a place called ACES Flight Simulation in the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. You have the choice of doing a warbird (my choice) or jet aircraft. Both types have multiple types but seem to be limited to the D models of the p47 and p51. You can do :30 or 1 hour. Prices are reasonable. The setting is WWII and active shooting and flying. Dynamics were ok, except I couldn't control my flaps or gear that was done by a person who was in the 'tower' (of which you are in touch with via-real life aviation headsets. Lastly as you fire the seat actually vibra…

Jeff brought up a good point that hasn't been discussed much. Most of us have been using rtw-2010 practice to log our flights to the Duenna server during this time leading up to the race. Jeff, thought this might need to be changed. Jeff or anyone else, have we asked this question to any of the committee members and do we need to change the setting in Duenna to ensure our flights are properly maintain on the Duenna server? I know official timing is through the forum but Jeff's point is good and vaild and needs to be addressed with everyone. Thoughts? I have updated my Duenna anyway to say rtw 2010 race.
