Keep it mind it is not yet functional but it will look like this.. (subject to slight changes).. It is not functional yet however. Now I hope your all using semi-modern browsers.. Hey Guys, Thought I would post this, there is very little information as this only happened last night.. A small 172 crashed not far from where I live. The personal connection I have to this particular accident is that the aircraft I have flown before.. Its a rental from the flight centre I belong to. Unfortunately the 4 people on board this aircraft did not survive. I personally did not know them but my condolences out to their families.. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/08/25/ontario-plane-crash.html

Non-RTWR topic I know, but I thought I'd share with you guys: this appeared on the BBC website today: http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-17863501 It can't have been much fun to be a passenger (or pilot!) on any of these flights, especially the one that gets blown almost completely off the runway just before the pilot decides to go missed approach. Looks like all the pilots did quite a job.

Darrington 1S2 to a nearby Fire Tower (XFTH) Calm winds made for a much easier approach to (rough) landing. :P And then a short hop over to XGMH where someone has bags packed ready to head back to Darrington... And one more at Hidden Lake (XHLP)... There's a number of these in the area...( "X" Helo pads / Fire Towers).

Hi all,The Cape-to-Cape Cup is now officially posted with rules, etc, now available. The Registration thread is open as well. All at the Sim-Outhouse Multiplayer Forum here: http://www.sim-outho...tiplayer-EventsThis is an event something like the 2009 London-Melbourne Race. Golden Age pilots fly from Europe's North Cape to Africa's Cape of Good Hope in 1930s vintage aircraft using primitive navigation abilities. They follow a route through the Alps, over the Sahara, along the Congo, and then the highlands and savannahs of British East Africa. This part of the event recreates the atmosphere of Golden Age intercontinental flight. Modern Era pilots fly a reverse course from …

According to the Daily Express and Paris Soir, MRC Investigations has been at it again. Those newspaper reports indicate that the detectives were able to obtain a late draft of the upcoming Cape-to-Cape Challenge Cup. This race, from the North Cape to the Cape of Good Hope, has been mooted about for a little while now, so it is good to finally see something concrete. Our agents have been able to obtain a copy of that draft. MRC Investigations indicate that even this late draft is subject to further change...You can get a copy of the draft over at SOH, here:http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?6-Around-The-World-Race-Multiplayer-Events (This is our "Spring…

Hey all,I pulled the trigger and got a domain for the bonus bank.. I also have some hosting for it.. Its not dedicated hosting, dont quite need that level of hosting but its on a shared hosting server in a US Regional datacenter. This makes it easier on my home network as here in Canada my provider (Rogers) limits my upload to 1mbit/second which i maxed out quite a bit during the race.. The website is www.rtwrbonusbank.comBut not only is the bonus bank on this hosting but I've put my personal website there too so im not just paying for hosting for the bank..

Okay RTWR Team mates,Whats your opinion of Microsoft Flight?? Shall we plan the around the Hawaii race in stearmans next year? :)I found it interesting that the entire world is in the sim (zoom out from topdown view to see it) but im assuming its just the terrain mesh and no scenery/airports/navaids/etc. I personally think if they were to open up the entire world and allow 3rd party access then we might have a good sim.. It flies well, I get excellent frame rates and it looks good. While yes there is a game aspect to it, there is free flight so if the entire world was open and they allowed 3rd party access then we can get it running really well. I guess this will all de…

RTWR 2012 Celebration EventTeam SOH cordially invites you to take part in a celebration event to close out the Flight Simulator 'Round the World Race' for 2012. All pilots are welcome and it's a 'fly what ya brung' event but bear in mind the route is roughly 100 Nm in length and the destination runway rather short so choosing the Vin Fizz or a 747-800 may not be the best option! The event will kick off at 18:00 UTC* on Saturday, February 25th but please assemble prior to that time so that we can start the event promptly. Simulator weather and time settings are at the pilot's discretion. We will be using the SOH FS Host server for the flight and the connection details are:IP…

Hey all, thought I'd kick off a PIREP thread for this years race. The kickoff event was fun.. Landed in Santa Barbara no problem, picked up my hollywood star and ATP Pilot and set course for Van Nuys.. However on descent into Van Nuys, there was a catastrophic failure of the airframe. Airplane flew itself apart on approach.. Another one bites the dust..My 1st leg of the race (as wingman) was on the way into KEGE.. Here's Harv and myself waiting for a flock of Vin Fiz's before departing.. It was fun to mow them down on the runway before departure..Later on in the Race, as we were in Europe and for some unknown reason I was still awake.. However it was asked for someone to …
