Greetings! Wanted to let the AVSIM MP folks know about a BIG event happening, from our friends over at DC-3 Airways. Looks as if their MP guru Glen Broome is cooking up a pretty awesome Berlin Airlift event to welcome the Thanksgiving Season, complete with MiG-15's harrassing the transports, and the ever present inclement weather to make things more realistic! There's a thread over at FlightSim.com: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?267478-Upcoming-Event-Series&p=1793116#post1793116 And all of the 411 about the Event: http://www.dc3airways.com/special_events/bal_4/bal.htm It's just after the World Rally, so dust off the Gooney Bird, …

OK, it's not quite summer yet. Anyway, the wife and I had the opportunity to drop by the Strategic Air and Space Museum just outside Omaha, NE during our excursion to the Badlands and Black Hills in South Dakota. By chance we happened to arrive about the time they open up the back lot, where they have a few aircraft parked. Imagine my surprise when they said that we could go inside... :yahoo: What I presume is the Radar Navigator/Bombardier position Electronic Warfare (I think) Main office! It was all I could do to squeeze my 5' 6" 200lb frame (I'm not exactly svelte) between the seats to sit in the pilot's seat. I was so amazed th…

More Test Pilot work while furloughed from the YMF-5... Over to Cardiff with the Gee Bee... Then to Edwards... 500,000ft + in the X-15-1 Then a run from SBSV to FHAW (we don't need no stinkin' L-1011s) Turning Final (really a bit low here)... gliding in like a proverbial brick.. A possible entry for a jet leg for RTRW 2014?

Hello! I wanted to know if it is possible to make the race with only one issue in duenna. For me it is impossible to set the Real-WX warning light to green. It always stays in yellow independendly what I do. I tried lots of things, lots of solutions from internet and forum, but none of them works. I am going to start a race at Niska bush race 2013, and they let me race with that issue. But I don't know if the same issue is allowed in the world race. Of course I fly with real weather. With OpusFSX weather engine... (I tried of course the default real weather engine of FSX updates every 15min, and download upper winds on, and leave turbulences.. but nothing.. s…

I run into the same issue every year, Duenna doesn't read the weather as correct, no matter how I set it.I know this has been an issue for many, but the solution seems to vary from setup to setup. I'm still trying to get mine right, can someone help?

This was filmed a couple days ago - FedEx donated a 727 to the University of Alaska Anchorage and had to land it at the campus located on Merril Field. Buzz & Stone -- B) LOL It drew quite a crowd.. Reference Of course quite a bit more by searching You-Tube for "727 Merril Field" Roman PS - My partner in the F-111 project is now getting the "virtual call" errors,, now it may come down to AI aircraft ( I rarely use ) -or- the use of Doug Dawson's dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau ???

I found a nice article here, describing Sir Alan's survey route and journey. Looks fun! I'm off to find a vintage float plane (although the default Beaver or the Goose might be fun as well). Who's in?

Gentlemen, After looking at all the data, winds, altitude etc it has come to my conclusion that we did not look at the alternative. Lower may be slower, but it's easier to get there. Copyright www.MyBombshells.com - It's not the Bearcat, who cares? Roman

RTWR 2013 Finale at Cape Town The pilots at AVSIM have set up a final barbeque to be held in the Cape Town region. Everyone is invited to celebrate the eleventh running of our crazy race. We shall gather at 1900UTC (14:00 EST) on Saturday, February 23, 2013. In order to allow the circuit to be flown in the Western Cape's late afternoon sunset, we shall want to "time shift" the virtual takeoff time to about 15:45 Local (14:45 UTC). The Cape Town Circuit Jeff Williams has created a shortish (112.5 nm) route around Cape Town. This Cape Town Circuit is sponsored by the letter "C" for Cessna. He proposes that everyone fly his favorite Cessna around the cir…

All, to anyone experiencing "Error 404" issues with the server, there seems to be an issue. I have a support ticket with the provider open. For the time being, just be patient, it does come back intermittently. Thanks

As per the provisions of the Special Rules, you may begin at Cape Town (FACT) for your journey around the world and back. Please remember to set up your Duenna with a check mark on "Enable online flight tracking" and pick the proper event: "2013 rtw race official tracking". You also need to use the "Baton-carrier or wingman" check box if flying in that role. Best of luck to all the teams and pilots in this year's race! GO ! Second, we are absolutely delighted that Eamonn Watson has volunteered to take on the role of Communications and Technology Officer for the race. 2. Race site. Eamonn has set up the race site for RTWR 2013 here: http://www.fsrtwrace.net/ . 3. Expanded governance.
