I think we should try to get together tomorrow to practice baton transfers. The idea is to find an area with some close airports and do 10-minute flights between them for the sole purpose of drilling baton transfers, probably somewhere in the U.S. so we can have daylight. I suggest starting at 1600z tomorrow. Feel free to propose a different time if it is bad for you, I realize it will be pretty early in the morning for some of the team members.

Just curious. If everyone uses a TU-95, like this one: http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2549/fsx-tupolev-tu-95ms-bear/ Wouldn't we win by a massive margin?

Hi All, When applying the fsxconstellationsuperchargerfix_1_64 patch to the Connie... I lost MAPs (all read zero) and poor performance... ReadMe file states: ------------------- Add the following two lines at the end of the main VC panel ([Vcockpit01]) section (given example for L1049G): Gauge##=L1049G!L1049GGSuperChargerCtrl, 0,0,1,1 Gauge**=L1049G\PL_Gauge!SuperChargerCtrl, 0,0,1,1 ------------------- Note that in the first gauge there are two "G"s before "Super" (L1049G!L1049GGSuper)... you need to remove one of those G's... My panel config for that section now looks like this: ---------------------------------------------------------------…

  7. I've been trying to get the Bearcat ready to race in FSX but I'm struggling with the portover from FS9 and I wonder if one of you had the same issue, as I know quite a few use this aircraft. The problem I'm having is opaque VC cockpit glass at dusk/night. Searching the web has told me it's most likely an issue with alpha channels that need modifying, but I haven't found a fix specific for this aircraft. Has anyone had the same problem and found a workaround, or do you just limit it to flying either in daylight or from the 2D cockpit? Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

  8. Friends, We are happy to announce that the 2013 Round the World Race will be run this year. The start date is traditionally the first Saturday after Valentine's Day. That is February 16, 2013. We have lost three members of the Executive Committee. Although they may be around to give sage advice, Matt Smith, Reggie Fields and Ian Dale will no longer be active participants. We should all express our deep gratitude for the great contributions that Matt, Reggie and Ian have made to the RTWR event and the flight simulation community more generally. That leaves the two of us. Although some of the 2013 Race Planning has been accomplished, we shall have to ask the com…

I thought I'd try a different 'heavy.' It's pretty easy to learn, and has the usual PMDG attention to detail. It might not be quite as fast as 'The Queen' but I find the FMS a little easier to program, and the systems seem a little more intuitive.

Hey all, so today was the 1st day a scheduled commercial 787 landed at pearson international airport.. It was Ethiopian Air flight 502. So its scheduled arrival time was 720am Local time, so my wife and I got up at 5:30 this morning, and drove the 65 minutes out to CYYZ to watch it land.. I know, I drove over 2 hours both directions for quite literally 10 seconds worth of watching an airplane land..

Hello! I was wondering if anyone might be able to provide some insight regarding an issue with the Duenna software: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?257349-Duenna-Help-Needed-Please&p=1731178#post1731178 Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Alan :p0504:

  13. Hi guys, For those of you who like your warbirds with a British flavour (Bry, I think you might like this one). It was released yesterday at the Classic British Flight Sim site, www.cbfsim.co.uk. I spent most of this evening getting to know it. Flies very nicely, and with a good VC, it looks like a top piece of freeware. Unfortunately not really a race aircraft, the best I got was about 335 KTAS at 22,500ft. But definitely something I'll be getting some hours in.

The Sim-Outhouse has launched our first Practice for the RTWR 2013 Season. This year we thought we would do things slightly different. We have opened the practice up to all pilots from any Team. This practice is really designed to be fun and simply cover the basics. Its a good time for the new people to get familiar with the General rules, see how the Routing rules define how the race is run, test their system, and generally get the bugs kicked out. Planning should be kept to a bare minimum we experienced members can help provide guidance to new racers but we will not be working up a complete race plan. Please see the rules http://www.sim-outho...Open-Prac…

If you want to fly some new routes I would like to suggest World Flight 2012. I have flown the route the last two years before the official contest starts. You can go to World flight group.com and download the map and all the flight plans. I downloaded the 737 plans and FSINN plans. So all I have to do for each of the 47 legs is figure the fuel and time in route. It is a blast. there is a promo video on the vatsim front page. Cheers, Don Emerson and there is a map of the complete route on the website

Hey all, Discussion has been brought up lately on flightsim's forum about possibly getting us all on the same server for the race.. I'm curious what your thoughts are on this.. What I was thinking was possibly renting for 1 month a Virtual Server with Windows Server installed on it. Then obiously FSHost would need to be installed, but this would allow all the race participants to login to the same server. We would still maintain separate Teamspeak servers to prevent cross talk and we would keep an AVSIM race server in case main server goes down and also for scouting.. Which brings up a valid point.. All scouting would have to be done in private, so if…

Good Day fellow RTW racers, The following has been posted on all 3 websites.. (But you guys already know) I have updated the bonus bank in preparation for the RTW2013 race. I just finished testing it this morning and it should be all good to go less some changes needed by the race committee but those wont happen until race time. First off, the bonus bank can now be found at http://www.rtwrbonusbank.com/ I decided to clean it up a bit and give it a much more modern appearance using some of the latest web tech and methods. This should work on all modern browsers, hopefully you all avoid IE like the plague. The system is now completely done by logins. Anybo…
