This is a representation of C-FNVV (Fin 416) wearing her second livery, the Canadian Airlines International "Proud Wings" paint scheme...better known as the Goose Livery! I've been playing with this livery the last couple of evenings...still very much a work in progress!!! Most people fondly remember CAI (Canadian Airlines International) as the successor to Canadian Pacific Airways (later, simply CP Air). Truth be told, it was Pacific Western Airlines (PWA) that purchased CP Air in 1986...or rather assumed their massive debt! The rebranded CP Air Fleet (as well as the existing PWA fleet) assumed the new CAI Livery starting in 1987, which was a blue and…

The Sky in South America Were back to South America with a Sky Airlines departure from Benítez International Airport (SCEL) Santiago, Chile. Unfortunately, LatinVFR never really completed the airport due to the lack of proper night lighting (very dark at night). Hopefully, you enjoyed these images, your commentary is greatly appreciated...Darryl

This was an April 1st freebie from SoFly, but I see it is actually for sale on their website now. Beautifully done, and the beasties are incredibly well animated, plus they roar, grunt and suchlike wonderfully. No idea if the sounds are realistic - I'm not that old. I never cease to be amazed by what can be done here in MSFS. I'm just waiting now for the X-rated Stones '72 trip in their own jet. Or maybe the Zep one. Be nice to get a "picture not allowed" mark. Thought I'd do this in the Ka-10m rather than on ground transport. Better views. So here we are, waiting for the off at the rather splendid base camp "here steggy! Nice steggy!" Lookin…

Who wouldn't like a city called "Nice"...🙂...though the meaning and the historical origin of this name is different. Anyway, Nice is the gateway to (and the queen of) the famous Côte d'Azur (aka: the French Riviera) region of France. For this post, however, instead of focusing on the coastal stretch to the west of Nice (which is essentially the French Riviera), I've travelled, from Nice, eastward across the Italian border (the border is <20 miles away), and onward to Genoa in Italy, for a total distance of about 100 miles, along the pristine coastlines of the Mediterranean Sea, skirting the 2 mountain ranges: first the Alps of France and then the Apennines of Italy. …

In my previous post, while exploring the passage and exploits of Charlemagne...🙂...across Europe and into Andorra, I'd opted to use an Air Europa 737-600 as my mode of transport and discovery. And today, I just wished to fly my namesake aircraft, the 787...since I don't recall flying it for some time. I was pleasantly surprised to find, in my hangar, an Air Europa 787-10. It seems Air Europa has already in service 11 787-8s, and also 15 787-9s, with 5 more -9s on order, to operate not only on its European destinations (per its name), but also on its extensive and extended long-haul network into North and South American destinations. However, Air Europa does not…

Cap'n wanted us to run a quick maritime patrol while we're here at EKVG Vagar Airport, Even though we're flying Army birds and don't know much about ships n'boats, who's gonna argue with an excuse to go flying! Thanks to @KL791 and the entire team behind Global AI Ship Traffic! First ship spotted, let's go check it out... Looks peaceful enough, and you gotta love the rich variation in ship traffic with the latest version of GAIST! Looks like another suspect there in the harbor at Tórshavn, Capn has a girlfriend in town so we better check it out... All the sailors look like they're on board, so our Captain's girlfriend is safe...…

I made a grand tour over the newly updated scenery via WU XVI and visited next to the airports also the POI's who are indicated as been faithfully modelled. I visited 74 of them and collected in follow collage of 19 assemblies in alphabet order. A 20th shot is my favourite destination for trying the very steep and difficult approach to land on St Barth's TFFJ. Enjoy the views:

On my recent spin around (under) the Humber Bridge, I played around with the time setting and grabbed a nice shot or two of the formation against the evening sky, but then the phrase "Hunter's Moon" came in to my head and I decided to go back and try and get a suitable shot for that image. I ended up with one I was quite happy with, and here it is - And I grabbed a couple more while I was there, but the first one's the money shot! And I really like this bridge for some reason. It may not be in as exotic a location as some, like the Golden Gate for instance, but it appeals to me big time. This is the Secre…

Been playing with Airshow Assistant (got from the Marketplace for the princely sum of £1.64!) Quite fun but I daresay the novelty will wear off. Makes these photo-grabbing flights a little more complex, in that on replay (I record the flight first, then use the replay to grab shots, look around etc) the formation aircraft are controlled via pausing the sim, not the replay. So sometimes if I don't get both things paused at the same time there's a certain amount of messing around to get all the aircraft lined up again. Most of the time it's ok, but sometimes there's a touch of having to rewind the replay to get it back how I want it. When it does work, it's great though. …

Not sure what triggered it but I discovered the R172 Reims Rocket and this very splendid livery a couple of days ago, and thought it might look good over a nice lush bit of Florida landscape. The C172 is on .to of course ( https://flightsim.to/file/42097/rf172-reims-rocket-cessna-r172-hawk-xp-ii ) and of the airports here, F45 North Palm Beach is also from .to ( https://flightsim.to/file/476/f45-north-palm-beach-county-general-aviation-airport ) and KFPR Treasure Coast International is default MSFS. I might get the UK2000 F45, haven't decided yet. I really enjoy Florida in the sim. Been there a few times for work. We had a training centre in Orlando for a while becau…

In my earlier Andorra post, I'd remarked that this tiny landlocked country (an independent and sovereign principality) is nestled within the borders of France and Spain, deep inside the eastern Pyrenees mountains. Andorra's ancient roots and culture go back to the Roman times, and the country was actually at one point part of the Roman empire. Therefore, over the centuries, all three countries (Spain, France, Italy) have played a strong part in its development, with the (genetic) roots of its culture having started with the Romans. Geographically, both Spain and France are just with 10 miles of Andorra, its size being roughly equivalent to an area of (13 miles x 13 m…

[Note: First, been away for a couple of days, when I returned, the SU15 had hit my (humble) Xbox system. However, the first ~10G came and went in less than 15 minutes without any issues at all, but then for the later 16G World Update, I noticed the projected install time to be an hour or more, so, I went to the local park for a stroll, and when I returned, it was all completed...no hung (blue) status bar, no ever-spinning white circle...except for that lingering Sci-Fi DUNE thing...🙂...Oh well...I can live with it for a bit. To test the SU15 with something new, docile, and simple...🙂...I picked up an old love of mine...the Piper Seminole PA-44 Twin-prop (the Carenado vers…

After an overnight stay in an hotel of questionable quality here in Kathmandu, I fly on to Skardu in Pakistan this morning. Unfortunately, the hotels there are no better Someone obviously wants to get away even faster than me Along the Indian-Tibetan border The mountains around me look quite impressive, but none of them are higher than 5,300 meters I am now in Chinese/Tibetan airspace. In front of me lies Mapam Yumco Lake, which is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world and one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet. It is 4,583m above sea level, has an area …

In my previous post, I'd shown (via an ATR 72), the Delta colors of its livery previous to the current livery. Here are 10 pictures of the Delta A310 that I came across, in 2 other Delta liveries. Delta that has now a significant Airbus component in its fleet (ranging the spectrum from A220 to A350XWB), had introduced Airbus into its fold for the first time, via the A310 type. The A310 flew in Delta colors for the first time in 1991. However, this twinjet would fly for Delta for only short 4 years. Please find below: 9 pictures of Delta's "3D widget" current livery (lifting off in rain and cloud) 1 picture of Delta's classic "Dark nose" (Cheatline) …

...OK...Let me clarify right away a couple of points (1) First, it's a very (very) small country, but it's indeed a (sovereign and independent) country (2) Second, mountains are not the only things there, this small country is steeped with incredible history and rich culture (a unique amalgamation of the cultures from Italy, France, and Spain). I'm speaking of "Andorra", the "13 miles x 13 miles" landlocked country, sandwiched between France and Spain, in the thickest of the eastern Pyrenees mountains. With an average elevation over 6,500 ft, all of Andorra is truly mountainous...a mountain lover's paradise...🙂...Now, I've to travel from here 1,000 miles west to Denver to…
