The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

It took me two flights to get this story right, so here is Part I... A controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) is an accident in which an airworthy aircraft, under pilot control, is unintentionally flown into the ground, a mountain, a body of water or an obstacle. In a typical CFIT scenario, the crew is unaware of the impending disaster until it is too late. The topic and images of this story (in 2 Parts) cover the case of a well-known CFIT accident. On 28 November 1979, Air New Zealand Flight (TE-901), designed and marketed as a unique sightseeing experience, left Auckland International Airport at 8:00 am for the continent of Antarctica. It was expected to arrive…

It's been quite a white since I last flew any big iron, least of all anything fully loaded with about 90 tons of cargo. Let's just say that the approach into Portland, Oregon was not pretty, might have scared some of the local populace and no doubt made the tower curse a blue streak.. (I was distracted learning the idiosyncrasies of the Sky Sim MD-11 autopilot and wondering why it didn't intercept the localiser..) Anyhow at least by the time the mains made..... "firm" ....contact with the tarmac I had her pretty much squared away and pointing to where she needed to be. She might even have been on the centreline! I think the oleos were fully compressed.. EDI…

Homecoming from my business trips via Salt Lake City. For some reason, SLC has always been my fav airport to rest at for a final leg home, whether to SFO where I used to live near when I lived in Napa, or Phoenix where I live today. There is something about the peace of one of our more spiritual states, the Wasatch Mountains, what the Native Americans and settlers both knew about Salt Lake, a resting place for those seeking their riches in California or for going back to their roots back east (many of us in Phoenix are from east of the Ol Mississippi, like I am). I like living in Arizona because I am both a Northerner and a Southerner, I inspire to be like Abe Lin…

Following on from my previous post (here) we find ourselves in Cape Town (old NMG, not nice new shiny FSDG) and about to operate DLH577, a Lufthansa A340-300 to Frankfurt. The flight leaves in the early evening and arrives very early in the morning the next day. Lufty only have 12 A343's now but CPT is a regular haunt for them. Parked at the main terminal with all the usual suspects... Pushing back, Table Mountain covered with clouds this evening... Turning onto the runway, Table Mountain still in the background. Looking back at the airport after departure Climbing out with, well, Table Mountain in the background... again. Finally! …

Following on from my previous post (here), we're now on one of Lufthansa's 16 A340-600s. We are DLH712, departing late afternoon and arriving around midday in Seoul. Parked next to a retro 747-8 Lining up on 25C Following the SID which will take us out to the east. Just as we approach the German FIR boundary I notice this military P3 Sun now setting for our accelerated night. Some Russian AI traffic Technically this one's Chinese And this is a Canadian registered Global Express a long way from home. Thought this was a pretty good rendition for FSX More Russian AI traffic parked up Sun rising fast North …

Since I had the DA40, and DA42 when the DA62 was recommended I wondered why I should buy it. But my add-ons are my best form of entertainment, they are part of my monthly and yearly entertainment budget and because I have a grown child, even on a modest fixed disability income I can afford them, enjoy them, and give back my surplus money back to those that develop these products, and I believe Carenado/Alabeo comes from an area of the world that needs more economic votes. They may not be perfect, but maybe one out of the dozens of aircraft I added to FSX and then P3D I did not like, I believe it was simply the C152 because I like the rarer Tomahawk better, so it was thr…

Ortho4XP photoscenery L16 Khamsin B-25 The venerable B-25 Mitchell once made it in 1942 from an aircraft carrier, so I thought it would also be capable to take off from Lukla. Great! Now we have to make it to 30,000 feet, although its service ceiling is only 24,200 feet At 19,000 feet We have finally reached 30,000 feet with Mt. Everest dead ahead and Mt. Makalu in the distance The smaller peak between Everest and Makalu is the Lhotse The mountain range in the distance is already Tibet …
