The dream of a personal air vehicle to commute to work, me commuting out of Casa Grande towards the Phoenix metro area in the Mini-500, over my homespun OrthoXP scenery. Simming hardly gets more fun than this! John

My last payware purchase (possibly) this month, the Carenado Beech 1900 which rounds out my commuter airline lineup for P3D until the Emb 120 is released. I have taken many flights on the 1900, including many short flights of less than 50 miles, such as between LAX and Oxnard once. I always liked the leather seats and the single line of seats on each side, guaranteeing a window and aisle both. Longest 1900 flight I took, with a series of stops, was between Ohare and Michigan in '94. My most interesting flight was going into Philly from Binghamton New York, when we had a heavy crosswind and the crab angle was so large I could see the runway from my pax window on final. …

Always loved this "bus with wings" since I flew on it back in 1990 out of O'Hare to Springfield IL and back a couple weeks later. I flew on the 330 going down to Springfield and the nicer looking Short 360 going back to O'Hare. I loved the picture windows view and flying around 8-10,000 feet. I remember the sunlight shining in and the nice warmth it provided, then we descended below the same cloud deck we took off under from O'Hare on our way into Springfield. I took a couple more business trips to Springfield in '94 and '95 and had a funny time with the girls at the front desk, who flirted with me on my first trip to that client in '94 but then heard by their boss t…

Passing Homer And over Kodiak Getting closer to Cold Bay with the Cold Bay Volcano in the distance Welcome to Cold Bay. Hi, this is the follow-up to my Atlantic flight, as I proceeded from Cologne to my home-airport-in-choose, Tbilisi. The first picture shows no Tu-134, but a German Air Force A310 as a tribute to this legendary plane - one of those which were purchased still by GDR's Interflug and passed to German Air Force. It is always interesting to rediscover what one's AI traffic is good for. Now this is my Tupolev shortly after taking off, showing the view towards Bonn: Into the sun: The Danube river near Bratislava: After flying over Hungary and Romania, we have to cross the Black Sea: We arrive at the Turkish coast over Tr…

Enjoying a tour in my personal air vehicle, the VSkylabs Mini 500 for Xplane11. This copter is even equipped with their autopilot for Microlights which holds the altitude and heading during cruise flight. It's a wonderful low speed platform for VFR photo scenery flight or autogen flight too. I love Xplane11's modeling of rotor craft such as gyros, copters and large manned drones such as an odd freeware drone I found in the .org. Also there are some good blimp models, albeit with 2d panels, still fun to fly around with. John

Following on from my previous post (here), we're out in Korea and about to head towards the States. There aren't many A340 operators in the US anymore but United run a 789 from Seoul to SFO and from there we can find an A340 to fly. UAL892 parked up at RKSI, I've remembered to activate the scenery (works fine in P3Dv4) and AS is communicating just fine... what could possibly go wrong? A bit of a murky afternoon, we're pushing at 5:05pm local and the light is just starting to fade. Taxiing out looking over at the cargo apron... ...and Korean Air's main terminal. Pax eye view shortly after take off, admiring the local terrain close to the airpor…

Following on from my previous post (here), I'm continuing down the coast towards KSEA in our classy and subtle Disney 739. Descending into KSEA and there's a layer of bleurgh to get through. Popping out with the city below us. Gear down just befoew Boeing Field. Parked up. Glad to be shot of such a garish and vomit inducing livery we turn to a slightly less obnoxious logo jet, an old Virgin America A321, now unashamedly in Alaska colours but also with the SF Giants logos emblazened all over it. Standing out but not requiring a bucket. Pushing back in the mid morning light. Taxiing past all the company traffic, Alaska Airlines…

Following on from my previous post (here), I'm about to find another A340 to fly to Munich but I've been distracted by new shiny things... Aerosoft just released the A320/321 and iFly the HD update to their P3Dv4 737NG. I did a quick KSFO PHNL PANC KSEA KSFO circuit, all with Alaska Airlines and their new (then) aquisition of Virgin America. First up, Virgin America (still running 'their' flights at this point) A320 evening flight to PHNL. Old KSFO jetways not working, using buses and steps to board the aircraft. Shortly after take off flying past some bridge. Climbing out over the Pacific as the sun sets. A lot of darkness and water …

I tested the Drzewiecki Design New York Airports (that I picked up on-sale today) with an ATR pack I'd purchased from Virtualcol at the end of last year, but had never installed/flown it before. This test-flight is from KLGA to KJFK, a direct distance of only 9nm - the takeoff images are at day and the touchdown images at dusk. Thanks for viewing and hope you like them. Following on from my previous post (here), I'm in KSFO and about to fly another one of Lufty's 16 A340-600's. They have some based in Frankfurt (that we flew to Seoul) and others based in Munich, which is what we're going to fly here. DLH459 leaves at 10:50pm and is now operated by an A380 but last season, it was this fine beast. Pax view out of the economy seat, pretty much a full moon tonight. Pushing back Tow truck disconnecting. Moon reflecting on the water. Looking back at the main terminals at SFO... ...and out into the bay. Some views of the city as we climb out. Low level stratus hanging over the Golden Gate Bridge…

Shalom and greetings all my pals, I am sure all of you would recall the terrible Category 5 Hurricane Maria on 18 September 2017 hit Dominica which suffered a direct landfall with damage to 90% of the buildings on the island with infrastructure left in ruins which propelled many many airlines to fly relief aid supplies neighboring islands to be loaded on ferry boats to Dominica or small planes flying directly to that island's airport which had 7/8 of runway intact and 1/8 being washed out. Presenting emergency relief aid flight from TTPP Piarco International Airport located 19 miles east of downtown Port of Spain in Trindad to TDPD Douglas–Charles Airport orme…

I have to admit, I haven’t flown heavies for ages, especially not the queen. Yes I know, that's the wrong cockpit. But hey, it’s freeware and of good quality, so I don’t complain. And so far I haven’t found a decent flightdeck for the 741 Dinner is being served Over the western tip of the Olympic peninsula with Vancouver Island in the distance Now comes the fun part. When I said earlier that I haven’t flown heavies for some time, this includes landing this sucker Now what?? Ooops, I don’t think …
