I almost got to live in the Aleutian Islands when I was 13 dad was a USMC Gsgt stationed on Whidbey Island when he got orders to Adak Alaska. We were getting ready to move there but the Marine that dad was replacing decided to extend there so we didn't go. I always wonder what it would be like living there.

Flyndive's ex Dave Garwood Auster J1 Autocrat updated for 2024 from 2020. Flies just as well as it did in 2020. Just missing the pilot, which is a known issue for 3rd party transferred aircraft, & I believe, being worked on by MS/Asobo. T45

Alright, finally I'm settled in to MSFS 2024. I've got a few of my favorite addon aircraft that seem to work well. I've dropped a few 2020 sceneries into my Community folder for the PNW, such as the ones pictured here, S43 Harvey and the famous KORS Orcas Island. Please enjoy this lovely flight (mostly direct) - I've changed no colors or settings on the photos like I used to do with 2020. 2024 is looking really quite amazing with the new environmental upgrades. Liftoff from S43! It's fairly short but the runway is no issue for the DA42 Over the Snohomish River headed NW Possession Sound and the Port of Everett L…

Hi all, wanted to know if my backup of the old sim is still flyable in Win10 and it's perfect, even better than before. More than 20 years old... The OS is sometimes a bit annoying but overall first class. So here I have a few shots showing various aircraft and locations. Most planes are perfectly flyable though some have only a nice 2d-panel. And it's interesting to see that in some details the sim is even better than msfs: - Hop from one location to the other in 30 seconds and change the aircraft from the airport in 30 seconds. - Very nice little tooltip labels, readable but does not bother at all. - Outstanding performance and quali…

two weeks and I'm back home to try mfs2024, so I look back to 2020 for a moment. My main fun in flightsim is painting aircraft, and I think I did about 1100 textures for 2020. Here are the 10 aircraft that I had most fun painting, in a random sequence. Should you have any favorites among the 1100, don't hesitate to post a shot, I'd appreciate it. Dino's MB-339, getting this kiwi camo paint done took me forever: the Milviz/Blackbird FG-1D Corsair, I spent so much time studying pics of the real thing to get all the stencils right that I suddenly noticed Milviz mixed up the left and right on the nose textures...decided to leave it as it was, it would have …

The flight is a bit unusual, as you can see from the first picture. But it was a lot of fun. After having passed by Mt. Denali, I fly to Anchorage, then further down south until I reach Homer. I fly with live weather, which was surprisingly nice. Thanks for viewing

I'm continuing to test the MSFS2024 a/c that fly normally w/o any issues on my Xbox...while also pursuing my fascination with the glorious dusk light of the new SIM...🙂...So, please find this collection of 14 pictures of my (quick circuit) test-flight today at my hometown airport (Chicago O'Hare, KORD), as I lift off Rwy 28R (westward i.e., inland, away from Lake Michigan), and then land back on ILS Rwy 10L. Here, I've activated the Approach Procedure on the Garmin for effortless landing and touchdown...🙂... The airplane is Asobo/Carenado Cessna Corvalis 400 which is actually same as the (original) Columbia 400, but the Cessna name being now the official designation …

B737 Business Jet on approach into LSGG, Rwy 22, early evening. Another Autoland after a flight entirely on Autopilot, which has been rock solid as regards LNAV & HDG. Haven't tried VNAV yet. As far as graphics go, I am using Medium/High settings & would like the scenery lights to be a bit sharper. T45

First of all, this is my 3rd flight in MSFS2024 with (Asobo 737 MAX, AH DC-3, LVFR A340-300) in that order (if you wish, please see my previous posts). However, I must point out that today while attempting to fly, on my MSFS2024/Xbox, either the "A330-300P2F" or the "A321LR", I was not successful. These two aircraft simply would not load even after multiple attempts (the SIM freezes and becomes unresponsive before the VC loads into the screen), so, I need to examine why, because I'm particularly interested in these two default a/c from iniBuilds. For this post, I am flying here, instead, the LVFR A340-300, which is a quad-jet, that I am also very fond of, having travelled…

Today, I defined a few more (essential) controls and assignments on my MSFS/Xbox, and wished to fly the DC-3 on a short flight to continue to getting my feet in the (troubled) waters of MSFS2024...🙂...For this post, I picked one of my favorite (test) flight routes that I must have flown 100+ times since the FS9/FSX days. The distance between Seattle and Vancouver is about 120 miles, which is the route I've flown often in the past. Here, however, I travel, in the opposite direction, from Vancouver/CYVR (8L) south to Seattle/KSEA (16L), along the Pacific coastline and across the many picturesque (and scattered) islands on the ocean (see images). The flight was not perf…

It looks like I missed all the excitement of the launch-day of the MSFS 2024...🙂...Nonetheless, today, the installation, on my Xbox (Game Pass version), went reasonably well within a reasonable time, without the frustrations of any dreaded "Server" or "Queue" issues that I am reading about. But MSFS2024 seems like a different beast altogether from my familiar domain of MSFS2020...🙂...Most significantly, the settings and controls on my Xbox Controller (which I typically I use for Camera and Screenshots), and the Thrustmaster Hotas, and the Keyboard, the 3-way combo that had enabled me to enjoy MSFS fairly well even on the Xbox; have pretty much become inoperable (I'm …
