Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Two contributing factors motivated this flight of mine today: In my previous post, I'd indicated, with that flight in an A340, my multiple attempts to complete the approach and touchdown into LSZH/Zurich Airport had failed, each attempt resulting in my cockpit avionics and displays (abruptly) going dark in the final approach phase, prior to completion of the landing process. So, I wished to re-try that approach segment here with a different a/c (a simpler single-prop rather than a quad-jet long-haul airliner...🙂...). However, initially, also with this a/c, I still faced the same issue. Fortunately, a couple of (quit & restart) of MSFS seemed to eventually reso…

[...🙂...OK, I mean, I finally couldn't resist flying one of my most, if not the most, favorite (classic) airliners...in MSFS. So, when I caught sight today of a "new" (5* rated) livery pack of 707 repaints in the Marketplace (with that easy-to-spot yellow-tag), my mind went back (for the 10th time) ...to the base (707) a/c, which has been somewhat maligned due to some imperfections in its current version, especially in the avionics suite. Therefore, if you wish to wait for an (hopefully) updated version of this a/c, you might do so, since our (new) SIM would be incomplete without this classic quad-jet. On this first experimental flight, I did however make it work well eno…

The flight is outrageously short. 5 miles, 2 min with my C172 if flying straight-line 😉 I just did a detour to manage the weather: shall I continue? What is my plan B, my plan C... etc... I love simflying this way to stay current with my VFR skills and train with Foreflight on my iPad. I love spotting planes while I'm holding short: Look at the windsock while I'm lining up 16L à Seattle Tacoma KSEA: Immediate right turn after departure to head north, joining above the right downwind: I have enough resource to look down and enjoy boat trafic from GAIST: Double sided picture: left side is free of VFR. I sho…

This is my 2nd (experimental) flight (please also see my previous post), with the MSFS/AH B707 to get to terms with what exists in the current version, for personal use. So, I did a couple of basic tests as below: Flight 1: I take off (in the colors of Lufthansa, part of the (nice) add-on repaint pack, that had prompted me to acquire the base 707 a/c, in the first place) from EDDF Rwy 25R (i.e., in the westward direction, deliberately chosen so, to fly over River Main immediately after lift-off (see shot #5), a river, I've always made it a point to catch sight of from the air and during final approach, on the umpteen occasions, I've landed in Frankfurt in RW). I t…

Hi all, now some updates are available for Orbx basic files, so this here is Orbx KSAN which now works in v6. But the scenery itself is for version v4, not yet updated. And the rather old but also rather fantastic Nemeth Design AS350/H125 for FSX/P3d, I love it, flies like hell...🙂 Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas

Now this is why I love MSFS. The iFLy 737 is a wonderful aircraft, and I'm really enjoying it (although I wish it were a bit more amenable to us non-piloty types - different states like "cold and dark", "all systems running/ready to taxi", "ready for take-off" etc would be a huge improvement and needn't distract from all the clever stuff for those that want it) but by far my main motivation and pleasure is discovering and exploring interesting places around the globe. This set started because I saw a new airport, DTTZ, on SImMarket a few days back. I check that site at least once a day to see what's new, and there's many a gem among the dross. I looked at the sample …

[Note: I had big difficulty with my flight today, with the a/c (cockpit) avionics going blank/dark as I neared Zurich airport (multiple attempts to complete the flight did not succeed). BTW, this is not uncommon for me with Xbox a/c, but typically, quitting (and restarting) MSFS or/and moving the a/c to another ORIG airport, has always resolved my issue in the past, but today nothing worked... (very frustrating indeed). So, you do not see below any touchdown shots of my A340 landing in Zurich (I attempted both ILS 16 and ILS 34 Rwy approaches into LSZH) ...Oh well...My MSFS2024 (at least the Standard Edition) is now ready to go with Xbox Game Pass subscription been though…

My landing and taxi in to Boston, MA. Tons of beautiful airliners to oogle at while I make the long taxi to Signature FBO We're cleared for the visual rwy 33L! Ground control has me pull off in this pad to let the Lear taxi by A beautiful UAE 777 "N626N give way to the JBU airbus from left to right" …

I'm taking the Cirrus from AXX to Double Eagle (AEG - just outside of ABQ) this afternoon. It's pretty much VFR but there is forecast for some serious haze in the area so we'll file IFR and plan for 16k ft Routing (I like to show the VFR sectional for reference), we'll climb out on the obstacle departure procedure and then proceed south towards Fort Union VORTAC (and coincidentally above the town of Las Vegas, NM hehe) A lovely view from the FBO And a nice day to fly! Flight will take about 1 hr 30 min KAXX sits at a very high elevation of 8,380 ft - but is no issue for the turbocharged Cirrus G6 - I pitch for 110 ki…

I thought it was time to change my mode of transportation again. I hope you’ll forgive me 🙂 Refuge Cove is a year-round community on West Redonda Island in the heart of the Desolation Sound area of the Inside Passage. It serves as a centrally located supply stop for boaters travelling in or near Desolation Sound. Today we take our private yacht and will go from here to Vancouver Let’s go Once we are out of the cove, the sea gets rough Passing by Sechelt. I don’t want to be on that sailboat right now Close to …

A beautiful day for a 500ish nm flight from JYO to BOS in the turbine Duke. The trip takes about 2 hours chock to chock. Part 1 is most of the flight, and part 2 is the landing and plane spotting! A fine morning at Leesburg Executive A quick taxi out for departure on runway 35. Routing today is KJYO JFK ORW WOONS2 KBOS I took an intersection because we just have too much power lol About 3500 fpm climb rate at 160 kias - not too shabby Potomac tracon is working hard to get us on course and up and away to center Washington Dulles IAD in the background / Potomac River Center told us we'd get this more direct route if we …

a few quick grabs from recent test flights. First, the LVFR A330 somewhere over Oz, possibly heading towards Brisbane Then, a grubby 727 out of Stanstead heading over the Isle of Sheppey towartds Sarfend The rather splendid Fw-190 out of North Weald, towards London heading over the Edmonton tower blocks towards Wembley The 190 again out of KSQL And lastly. my first flight in the iFly 737. Lovely cabin, complete with opening luggage racks! and back on the ground after a quick circuit from LEMD. A bunch of fun aircraft. Looking forward to 2024 but even if that all falls apart 2…

Here's some screenshots from the Tech Alpha 2024 preview build - and some commentary from me. I'm not necessarily cherry picking amazing shots but there are some neat things I've found in the short amount of time I've had to play with the tech alpha. And there are some "meh" things hehe... For some reason my shots no longer show full size on this forum... neither avsim nor Flickr seems to know what's wrong... but click on the pic for a larger version. Here's a "meh" item... yes we have the newer imagery now but the airport runway is placed incorrectly.... and there are still plenty of missing buildings at default airports such as 21D shown here. Fall s…

A rare evening flight in the CJ4. I didn't intend to take pics (I was just enjoying the flight) but with the clouds and sunset it became clear that it was to be haha! I add some pics of the lovely freeware KDTW scenery at the end too. The routing is KTVC PNNTO GRAYT2 KDTW - at FL270. This is me blasting out of TVC. I did a quick climb as there was icing and I wanted to get well clear of it fast... the cloud tops were around 16k or so as I break into the evening sun Even though the CJ4 is a default aircraft, it's been heavily modified over the years by WT and other freeware devs - it's a superb aircraft for flights in all weather! Greeting th…

Here are some impressions after about twenty hours of use.I did not go into details but rather the broad outlines of my interests. The positive part: -I loved the exceptional performances . A feeling of flying in a bubble without constraints. -The speed to open FS24 or change airports is phenomenal. -The lighting is amazing. -The aircraft's behavior on the ground and in the air is excellent. -Live weather rendering has progressed. -All the new interactive features. -FS24 in 4K...otherwise nothing. The negative part: -LOD distance is not good, it ruins everything. -The harmony of autumn colors is not bala…
