The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Thought I would try the Red Wings L1049 in 2024 and found it flies very well. Hand flew a short hop out of Salt Lake City. Don't know if the AP works, but it was a nice smooth flight. T45

  4. Buoyed by my (earlier) success in flying a complete flight in the Asobo 747-8 (please see my earlier post on it), I tested, today, the (Asobo) 787-10, an aircraft that is dear to me, because it belongs to my namesake family ...🙂... (the "787"). This 787-10, per the new MSFS2024 paradigm, is also "Streamed in", just as most of the aircraft in MSFS2024 are (see also my previous post on the PMDG 737-600). I don't know...but my preliminary conclusion (mind you...applicable only to my Xbox/MSFS2024 experience; so, your PC experience may vary), is that "Streamed in" a/c are not performing as smoothly as what I'd seen in my MSFS2020/Xbox. This is almost to the point that at…

  5. It's time for another proper 2024 flight. We're preflighting just before sunrise at the lovely Palm Springs, CA KPSP. A thick marine layer is forecast so we're unsure if that layer restrict our approach (a visual since there is no IAPs at L70). Our alternate is KWJF Fox field just west of Palmdale if the weather doesn't cooperate. Hope you enjoy this flight - using the Black Square TBM 850 with a few minor mods, the iniBuilds "enhanced PSP," and vbazillio's recent L70 2024 upgrade (freeware!) Oh, the routing is KPSP CATH1 PSP PDZ L70 Cool and Dark haha (PSP is semi warm even now) Blasting off RWY 31R The CATH1 departure is ju…

Hi all, recently I upgraded my True Earth SD scenery Florida for XP to HD version because I didn't really like it. Looks perfect and here I fly over to Houston Texas via Alabama and Louisiana. The plane is the King Air 350 by Airfoillabs. This is all perfectly flat land in all directions as far as one can look. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas

  13. Started by andiflyit,

Hi all, now I worked a bit again to get this Aerosoft DC-8 running and it's not easy to handle. But I found the reason for the bad fps in the cockpit, it was simply a pair of landing lights. If these are off it has full frames all the time. Of course no autothrottle and the old fashioned autopilot. I didn't modify anything except that I installed a GPS 530 because I don't want this CIVA Ins. I don't fly it for weeks and than I have forgotten it all. So the GPS can connect to the autopilot and it can follow the flightplan. This flight was from the north of Great Britain at Inverness to Southampton about 560 nm and I let it fly in real time, worked …

  15. In our SIM, propliners are as much fascinating as jetliners. Many of us, throughout our times in this hobby, have come to love the classics such as the Constellations, Viscounts, DC-6s etc. On a smaller scale, at the regional transport level, twin-props such as Fokker F27 Friendship, HS 748, DHC/Bombardier Dash 8, ATR, and Saab 340 have also become our favorites. In particular, I have always found fascinating...the smaller "4-engined" quad-prop (regional) airliners of past times...just a couple of such notable examples been Lockheed L-188 Electra and De Havilland Dash 7, which we might recall from our past SIMs. So, I was intrigued to find today a (curious) quad-prop airl…

Few quick ones from St Barts 2024 runs better than 2020 on my 7yr old PC with only 16 gigs of ram, no stutters, no problems, no preps before installing, just downloaded and ran it, didn't even defrag beforehand .

  17. Started by andiflyit,

Hi all, here I did a little flight with this rather large oldie, so the flight is of course only sightseeing and not realistic. But it's a very nice freeware aircraft by Shenshee and well known in the Xplane community. A Civa Ins can be used but I don't have the addon, I always forget how to use it, too much for my little brain....🙂 So my little fun flight was from CYVR to Victoria, a bit along the West Coast and than Columbia river to KPDX. Thank you very much for …

Hi all, now I only wanted to test how it works flying this plane, so I started twice, in Japan and in Germany, and collected the shots. This is bad, I know...🙂 It's from RJAA to EDDF and it worked well, I will simulate a real longhaul flight later, when I have nothing better to do. 🙃 Today they fly it with the B789. The aircraft is the CS B777-300er, looks good and works well. The livery for Japan Airlines is also well done. The photogrammetry didn't work at Tokio, had to switch it off. A lot of disfigured buildings. . FL 340 now, somewher…

Hi all, some shots from wonderful Oregon here, last shots are at Redding KRDD which is the northern tip of California. The plane is the Aeroplane Heaven for P3dv4 which is freeware. Runs well in v6 except the props which are only very little visible. This is always the same, new versions of the sim.... I was playing with the weather all the time which I do not really understand so far, so it's a bit a variation of light...🙂 Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas

  24. ...OK....🙂...you know by now that my favorite times of the day in MSFS are those twilight moments (dawn and dusk) that surely hold a special place and memories in all our hearts...whether you may have experienced those moments in a mountain valley as the shadows slowly but steadily creep down towards the ground, or on an ocean beach as the sun dips below or rises above the waters in the distant horizon. Even in the dense metropolitan areas of a big city such as Chicago here, occasionally one might spot glimpses of the (unusually) large disk of the golden-red sun in low horizon, visible across from all the man-made obstacles in between...trees, automobiles, buildings, tele…

I am more interested in warbirds, but most of the threads on the forum here seem to be about airliners. I do occasionally fly airliners as well, so here's a small overview of my ' airliners' ... all my own paintwork, as usual.
