Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.

Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.

[Side Note: Today, I was pleasantly surprised to find MSFS2024 already installed for my Xbox/TV. Of course, it says I cannot use it yet. Apparently, my teen has coaxed one of the parents...🙂...to extend the Xbox Game Pass subscription and has overnight installed the MSFS2024, hopefully ready to go for me on the opening day... (hmm...all these without my permission) ...Oh well...who is complaining...🙂...] As the unique sensations of the Fall season are slowly and steadily permeating the atmosphere around here, and simultaneously foreboding the reality of the harsh winter just up ahead, I am thinking today about the migratory birds of Chicago, especially the Canada Geese …

Here, via this follow-up post (please see my earlier post, if you like), I wish to wrap up the remembrances of Wiley Post, one of the most colorful and fearless aviators that world would ever know. First, some explanation about the Title of my post. Triggered by the title, Around The World In Eight Days, of the account of aviator Wiley Post and navigator Harold Gatty's 1931 eight-day flight around the world, my mind naturally drifted back to the (other) fictional account of similar nature, Jules Verne's immortal classic, Around the World in Eighty Days. An abridged version of it, I'd coincidentally happened to reread just a couple of weeks ago...🙂...Obviously, as authors,…

For business, I have to go to New York soon. Sometimes things go right because my meeting hotel is the TWA Hotel (https://www.twahotel.com/) located inside JFK airport. I wanted to have a look, as a virtual tourist, if the iniBuilds MSFS rendition of JFK depicts properly this iconic hotel. Wasn't disappointed although I'll certainly will have a different feedback after leaving it in real in few weeks for the first time. Talking of "real", this MSFS session was also an opportunity to partially recreate what is maybe my unforgettable real flight as a private pilot. The only on-airport hotel, AirTrain-accessible hotel at JFK! I'm really not an aficiona…

As you will see, this flight does not take a direct course from Salzburg to Stuttgart. Instead, I first fly to Lake Constance, then to the Black Forest and along the Rhine River before I change course towards Stuttgart Above Lake Chiemsee If you enlarge the picture, you can spot the Neu-Schwanstein Castle above the plane’s fuselage Above part of the city of Lindau Lake Constance The Mainau Island. It’s very similar to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC Above Strasbourg And finally approaching Stuttgart …

Good Morning from Innsbruck. We were expecting to land in Salzburg this morning but unfortunately I think the co-pilot had one of the passengers homemade brownies mid-flight. He is now fast asleep in coach and so the return flight has been delayed indefinitely. PS this post is for amusement purposes only and is not an endorsement in any way. Cheers, Calum

The English word "memoir", it's to be noted, is derived from the French word “mémoire” (or “memory”). It stands for a written record of a person's knowledge of events or of a person's own experiences. So, here we go...bits of my personal experience from (numerous) past travels over the short (but fascinating) stretch of about 20 miles of Lake Shore Drive (aka U.S. Highway 41) in Chicago downtown, alongside Lake Michigan. You might recall from my previous post of the virtual flight from Louisville to Chicago, that I'd arrived at O'Hare (KORD) following the ILS Rwy 28R approach. My path, westward into the airport, from over Lake Michigan, had passed north of the main segmen…

So, this EN-3 was out on a trial run after a refit, and while testing the electronics the crew picked up a broadcast out of Nashville with a previously undiscovered Willie Nelson recording. So they decided to pop down and grab a copy. But they were running a bit late on the test flight so had to make it just a quick stop and then head straight back to Tinker. So here we are, parked up while they change back out of their stetsons and prepare to head home Taxi-ing out A quick view of the airport (this is the new DDT version) quite nicely done Meanwhile, we're waiting to go And we're away! Quite a big old airpo…

So, just got myself the latest update/rip-off from CS for their Herc range. Meant to be the -J model, but not exactly accurate, or so I'm told by a man who knows. It should have a glass cockpit, but it's pretty much exactly the same model as their -H (and I assume their -E). It seems the only real distinction between the models is the propellers. But, and here's the thing, is does have a working parachute cargo drop function. Eight pallets included, one dropped per key press (you need to bind the "toggle logo lights" function to a key/button to do this), and it all works quite well. "On offer" on their own website at the moment, still a dubious proposition, but I'm h…

Situated at the center of The Netherlands on Flevoland is Lelystad Airport operational since 1973. It's the 2nd busiest for GA flights and contains an aircraft museum called Aerodrome. Modelled for MSFS by Papa Hotel-Dutch Scenery Design, hereby an overview after landed in a Cessna Longitude in KLM colors.

I'm flying by the seat of my pants in the YMF5 Waco (rhymes with taco) from Winsted MN (10D) to Stanton MN (KSYN). There's no autopilot, no GPS (there is a VOR that I use for reference to make sure I'm not busting the Minneapolis Class B!) But mostly I'm looking outside and using pilotage. The weather is CAVOK with a decent breeze from the southeast. The flight takes about half and hour doing a bit over 110 ktas. Pulled her out of the hangar at 10D and ready for engine start We're up and away off 10D's runway 27 The Waco, originally Waco Aircraft Company, built bi-planes in Troy, Ohio, USA from the 1920s to 1940s. I'm probably butcher…

Sometimes, even if a miniscule bit of inspiration from fellow simmers, here, touches your fancy, that might propel you do something similar...🙂...I am here referring to extra-long-haul flights with the B748 e.g., "Flight was from WMKK Kuala Lumpur to EDDF Frankfurt...with 747-8...took 12hr 18min and was flown in real lifetime and with no time compression!! The day I did this long-haul flight I woke up at 5'o clock in the morning and couldn't sleep anymore..."...🙂... Indeed, immensely admirable, and of course, it was clearly NOT me...🙂... Anyway, I, at least, wished to fly the 747-8, if not on an extra-long-haul flight. Additional motivation for this post: I had a pac…

Hi simmers 😊 ...my longest flight i did with MSFS ( since August 2020 ). Flight was from WMKK Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to EDDF Frankfurt am Main with a 747-8 MALAYSIA AIRLINES NEGARAKU and took 12h 18min and was flown in real life time with no time compression !! The day i did this longhaul flight i woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning and couldn't sleep anymore, and since the flight was planned I thought I'd take a look at it. The flight plan was created the evening before with Simbrief so I had already done this work. And so here we go, depart from WMKK.. ( and by the way, i love that Malaysia liverys and they got a lot off different beautys in there f…

Loving the Himalaya scenery, I performed a short flight in a PC12 from VNKL-Kangel Danda, modelled by Aerosoft to the iconic airport Lukla(VNKT) who is splendid modelled as default in MSFS. It's a very challenging approach to Lukla airport because no possibility for a go around if you misses a fair landing on the steep uphill runway 06.

I pre-ordered MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe (gotta have that PC24!) and about 24 hours later the CL415 showed up in my 2020 content manager. Overall I find the plane to be really cool, and really well modeled/textured, with surprisingly good sounds (including beta/reverse), and multiple night lighting options. The water scoop function works (along with increased weight!) and the water drop works as well. In fact, you can't drop if you haven't scooped so I found that to be a cool realistic feature. There is no manual that I could find (semi annoying), so I had to ask some friends, and look at some videos to see how to get this operation working. Perhaps I should ha…

Early morning departure out of Tenerife South in the A320neo. The peak of Mount Teide, which can be seen in the background, is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic. Its peak stands at 12,188ft above sea level - and if measured from the ocean floor, it would be the third highest volcano in the world at 24,600ft. Mount Teide sits within the Teide National Park on the island of Tenerife, which is part of the Canary Islands and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
