The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Thanks to a recent (member) post, we all, know a bit about DCS's incredible MiG-29 "Fulcrum". That (DCS) SIM is actually "designed and tested" by a former MiG-29 pilot, which is a testament to the extreme fidelity of its simulated systems...If you recall, that post had also generated some "Russian" linguistic discussions, and, further, even though, personally, I don't own DCS, there was a (suggestive) note in there, that had attracted my attention: "Indian Air Force versions of the MiG-29 which you can get for FSX/P3D from FlyFreeStd, actually have English language placarding and Imperial symbology on the HUD. Guess we can thank the British Empire for that one....Tho…

Since a short while ago, that I'd flown (and posted about) the mjc8-Q400, I've been thinking of a flight with my all-time favorite turboprop SIM, the PMDG classic JS4100...! It has been probably a year or so, since, I'd last flown that SIM. As I recall, this (legacy) SIM has (sometimes) created some issues on my (moderate) FSX/SE system, regarding performance (such as frame stuttering). So, today, for this SIM, I started out by moving my slider-set, one extra notch lower, than my normal. This was the right thing to do, here! Today, I faced no (detectable) issues at all, during this entire ~500 nm flight, and neither was there any noticeable loss of texture resolution, e.g…

This is my new happy place! HF2 is great. Updated AIG, ASP3D, ENV*, and I'm really happy with P3Dv5HF2! Captions above each pic. A2A C182 with RXP GTN750/650, ASP3D latest update for HF2, ASCA full dynamics, Orbx global stuff including vector (and KACK but you can't see it due to fog), AIG traffic and some misc GA and military AI injected using realtraffic and Lorby live traffic (LLTX). I turn off HDR and enhanced atmospherics (AE is not capable of displaying weather in a geographically accurate way, so defeats the whole reason for using real weather in my opinion, but it does look good). Here's the GOES16 - fog and low clouds at KACK. Departing IFR to K…

[Note: This post was triggered by a (recent) Top-50 (Library) Freeware (Repaint) contribution, that I came across last week...] The 747 is a plane, which, both as a masterpiece of original engineering and because of its rich and abundant history, has never failed to fascinate me on a continuous basis (and, of course, most of us, too) ...I still vividly recall the first time ever, I'd seen, up close, that (bulbous) nose of the big Jumbo (747-400) sticking up against the glass of the waiting (lounge) area, prompting me to wonder to myself, how does this thing get up in the air and stay up there..? The 747, although, is still flying in its most modern versions, the icon…

This post and the set of images, below, are triggered, thanks to another recent post, here, about this (same) but, otherwise, rarely seen aircraft. First of all, I've been a fan of Captain (Sir) Geoffrey de Havilland (OM, CBE, AFC, RDI, FRAeS), right from the earliest days of my aviation interest...🙂...Anyway, in one of the (long past) Just Flight SALEs, I'd acquired this nice (de Havilland) plane, but, rarely ever flown it. The other (member) post, this week, brought it out to the forefront of my memory (and out of my virtual hangar)... The Dove was a popular aircraft and is considered to be one of Britain's most successful postwar civil designs. Several military va…
