The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Thanks to ORBX freebie airport SIJY in southern Brazil, I now have a nice place to spend the holidays. Not only is it a good GA airfield in an interesting, warm part of the world, It has community of homes complete with private hangers surrounding it. There is even a private lake with dock to land your amphibian. Feel free to drop by, have a cold one in the hanger and watch the football.

  7. The luminous light was really good under the grey sky . I also liked the lake shores, had really the feeling to land in the proverbial middle of nowhere.

  10. Mountains are fascinating...I was fortunate, decades ago, to, once, catch sights of the majestic Himalayan ranges, from a visit to Kathmandu... This past week, while looking (virtually) around NZ-SI scenery, a bit, I'd come across Mt. Cook, so, I wished to pay one more visit to this remarkable mountain. Regarding my choice of plane for this post, the PA28-140 Cherokee, along with its cousins Archer and Arrow, have been all highly regarded as staple a/c for pilot training, and are considered great for learning to fly...in the RW...! So, today, in the library, when, I came across, a freeware Piper Cherokee variation, curiously, fitted with floats, I wished to merge thi…

  13. Small (or extra-small) and big (or extra-big) airports are all unique in their respective ways...in RW...or in our SIM. It's truly fascinating to be able to (virtually) visit not only the smallest (and scenic) airfields, e.g. a tiny airstrip somewhere, in Southern California, but, also, the big and busy international airports like e.g. Dubai (OMDB)...see below...! I'd previously (virtually) visited (and posted about) a small Brazilian Airport Joinville (SBJV), with a 5,000 ft runway, and, a couple of cargo and pax docking stations etc.. The airport was seen consisting of old-fashioned terminal buildings and roofing, but, nonetheless, displayed its own (characteristic) old…

Had a flight up the coast from LDPL in the Grravel, and arrived at LJPZ, just round from Trieste. Planned to come back and continue the trip and fly round the coast to Venice, but then thought it micght be nice to take a little cruise first. In the nautical sense, that is. This is one of the vessels in the Controllable Ships Fleet (https://flightsim.to/file/18668/controllable-ships-fleet), the Dannebrog. Unfortunately, no wake effects on these yet, but still fun and great for a bit of scenery gawping. More and more options to let us enjoy the world in the sim. Bring 'em on! Another Martini, Moneypenny?

  20. Years ago, I was flying the Airbus planes (318/319/320/321), mostly from Aerosoft, quite regularly, as often as I would be flying the PMDG/iFly 737NGs. Somehow, after the years of break from SIM, when I resumed, I never got back into flying these jets much. In recent months, I've occasionally flown (and also posted) about PMDG/iFly 737 NGs, but, I don't recall having flown any Airbus in recent memory. I like flying the Airbus SIMs...I've recently made a couple of posts about e.g. the early A300/A310 variants, and, have periodically (but regularly) enjoyed flying the SimCheck A300B4. After all, the history of Airbus planes is as fascinating, as that of the Boeing, tho…

  21. Was looking at the new Tomcat, like the look of it but holding off for now (trying to develop some self restraint), and also saw the payware carrier so thought I'd try out Superspud's freeware one first. ( https://flightsim.to/file/4930/aircraft-carrier-uss-msfs-uk-mooring ) Seems more than adequate to me, in fact very impressive, like all his stuff. Plenty of explanations about locations etc, all the settings seem to have fake ICAO codes to make them easy to select and all show up on the world map. Definitely recomended. This sort of aircraft is not my favourite to fly, much happier in the Grravel and similar, so I'm not even going to attempt a landing. If you selec…
