Hi,I have finally got some time to do a little more programming and I want to make a major rebuild of my AI Traffic (AIT) program. I am sorry i didn't have the time to answer all the e-mails I got and I promise to be much more supporting form now on. I got one question for you guys:Which compiler is the best of TTools by Lee Swordy or the TrafficDatabaseBuilder provided with the FS2002 SDK? I am not sure which one to use for my upcomming program.I would be great to get some objectively viewpoints and answers for this quesiton. I made the parallel runways at KSFO (San Francisco Int'l) set for landings on 28R/10L, and takeoffs on 28L/10R.It appeared everything was OK, as I was cleared for landing on 28R as I heard a request for T/o clearance for 28L.While on final, I noticed an aircraft sitting on 28R. I thought, "here we go, I'll get sent around ...".But no, Tower cleared me right on in, and told me to "... take next taxiway ...", etc. After clearing, I slewed around, and there sat a "heavy", just sitting there right in the middle of the runway, and did so for as long as I watched (about 10 minutes, while putting clothes away).Might this be due to not enough gates?But, I thought it would just …

I just used afcad to create ai traffic for an airport that didn't haveit (KBIF). I went back into flightsim and I see the aircraft but when it's time for departure, it dissapears from the tarmac. I know this aircraft works at other airports that I have tried from afcad files made by other users. What could I be doing wrong in afcad? Thanks.

Through AFCAD, I have noticed difference in the placements of Localizers, Glideslope objects, and DME objects.Can I safely move these to experiment with the touchdown points of AI Aircraft?BTW, they seem to vary greatly their proximity to runways, etc., across airports in where MS put them in FS2K2.

When I try to open some airports, nothing comes up. Try KIND, KBMG, KMIE. All are in central Indiana. However, KBAK opens fine (also in central Indiana, and in the same bgl file).Any idea?James

I have recently uploaded AI flight plans for United Airlines and Alaska Airlines to AVSIM and to my website:http://www.buckeyediscus.com/fs2002/These plans are a 7 day schedule for United Airlines and Alaska Airlines. You must have TTools to add this to your traffic.bgl file. (this file was created with real life data downloaded from the Department of Transportation and depicts actual movement of United Airlines and Alaska Airlines by N-number for the week of Feb 1 to Feb 7, 2002).Exceptions are listed on my website (and in the readme.txt file).Thanks-john

The glideslope on one layer's runway seems to be off calibration or something. Planes are up and down on final.Just watched my early night traffic flows (at the now layered KRIC) and would have to say it id working just as you folks said it would.It's neat watching the planes land and go to the correct parking area.

Hi, another newbie question. :)Living in Manchester, I (obviously) fly out of Manchester airport in FS2002. However, I was/am a bit disappointed in the fact that I never seem to get instructions for the second runway there. Also at all other airports I always seem to get landing/takeoff clearance for the same runways.Is there a way to get the AI use other runways? If so, what do I need and how do I go about it.Thanks.

Hello. I am currently working on gates for the new KDTW scenery. I had to redo the gates, move and rename the runways add a runway and redo most of the taxiways. Everything seems to be going fine except all of the aircraft disappear after landing. Some even come to a complete stop on the runway before they vanish. There is plenty of parking so that is not the problem. I have changed runways and the ac still disappear. Hello All - A question. I am contemlating a full reinstall of FS2k2 ( I know, reinstalling All of my addons again is a pain) because I am having issues. I want to clean out my fs partition, and get it going again.My question is, can I back up my traffic.bgl file and replace it after the install, to preserve my afcad creations? I know I can save my decompiled txt files from my last ttools decompile, but I don't want to lose all of my AFCAD designs ( I have created AI/ATC at many small airfields in NY/NJ)Any suggestions / ideas would be much appreciated.RedRock

Uploaded yesterday was a zip archive which includes all of the airports I have edited with Add A Gate which are in the state of Ohio:ClevelandColumbusCincinnatti (although, it's really in Kentucky)with two previously unreleased edits:Toledo ExpressCox-Dayton InternationalThere is only one other airport in ohio that has a destination within the AI files I have created (KCAK), however, it has enough gates currently to accomodate the ONE commercial flight per day that arrives there and therefore, will not be edited.these files are also available individually on my website:http://www.buckeyediscus.com/fs2002/-j

Hi Folks,Re my post of a few days ago suggesting duplicated stands numbers might account for some overshoots.While I've still not been able to confirm my earlier finding, I had an interesting incident last night. I had changed some of the aircraft to C182's with retracting gears. That aircraft, as well as a PA28 overshot rwy 21 at Shoreham as in the past. When the C182 overshot it still hit the ground (as indeed the PA28) but its gear must have been retracting as she ended up wheels up on the runway, thereby blocking it for all traffic.Perhaps AI is more to life than we thought! :-eek :-eekRgds Ron

Thanks, first of all, to TOM GIBSON and others who had faith that I would overlay KRIC and get AI traffic in and out. Just as I was about to "toss in the towel", I downloaded TTools 1.2 (had been using 1.1).That was apparently the difference. I probably learned more than I could ever have if all had worked correctly the first time through.Now, I need to go back and re-layer the airport, fixing the taxiways etc.Thanks again for all the help!

In one of my many KRIC overlay configurations, I had completely removed all taxiways and parking on the opposing sides of the layers (each side had one runway, with adjoining taxiways; none "shared" across sides).From the RIC2 layer (its RWY is 2/20) last night ... after finally getting everything working ... I was cleared by "ground" to RWY 16 for departure, which is associated with the other layer.I would have thought that runway to be unavailable since there was no association with the side I was parked on.

I dont know whether this topic has been discussed before as I am a new member but I was having trouble with Mikes A320s as AI aircraft. They came onto the approach and all crashed a couple of miles out. I just deleted the air file and used the air file from the default 737,renaming it to the original (A320200.air). Since then they land as they should. Sorry if this has been discussed before.

I think I've got it figured out. Need to isolate frequencies. Departing 32R, Landing 27R;landing ry27L and Departing 22L;Departing ry32L from T10 intersection; What it looks like on TCAS.

Hello,I have been using Dean Chamblee's Alaska Air timetable (It's awsome) but I also want to add Horizon Air's timetable. When I tried to add the Horizon Air with the Alaska Air timetable already compiled and successfully used in FS, it would crash TTools1.2 when it got to around 6500 flightplans.I backed up the origional .bgl and replaced that to get rid of the Alaska timetable. I then installed the Horizon timetable and it worked! But when I tried to put the Alaska one back in TTools crashed on the same flight plan number. Is it possible to have these two flight plans together?Thanks for the help,Chris

Hi Folks,Not been able to fully test my theory but while adding some gates and getting a/c to fly around Shoreham (EGKA) I kept seeing them go around but after two tries at landing they disappeared just before touchdown on the third approach.I later noticed that I had some duplicated stand numbers and once I had sorted them out the aircraft landed and taxied back in normally.Can't say if that was the reason for the disappearing a/c although will test this and let you all know but in the meantime you might want to check to see if you have any duplicated numbers if you get the vanishing tricks as well.Rgds Ron

Tom,Thanks ... you have finally made me understand how TTools routes work.Now, because I may have screwed my airport up on my first pass with AFCAD, do you think I should just use my back-up of the ".bgl" for KRIC, and do the layering all again? I kept a back-up of my SCENERY folder from a month ago when I had a planned system upgrade underway.Thanks ...

Hey Tom!I think I have pestered you enough ... the answer has to be in something I'm simply overlooking.I'll sweat this thing out when I get home this afternoon ... I'm gonna start with the original ".bgl" once more; this time taking all the taxiways and parking spaces out from the opposing sides (I thought I had all the parking out, but apparently hadn't).I'll post when the big "DUUUHHHHH" finally hits me.Thanks for all your tutoring!
