I see two processes inuse when developing a new layer.1.) Mike Lyons deletes the runway(s) on the "other" side;2.) The AFCAD instructions suggest shortening the "other" runway(s) to force the traffic onto the one you desire (by having it available as longest).Which works best?

Am working on runways for KORD. Am trying to get 3 pair, but will probalby end up with 2 pair and a single. The other day (real life) they were using 22r,27l and 27r for arrivals, 32r and 22l for dept and 32L from Tango 10 intersection with 8500 ft left for another departing ry. I'm using World Ai traffic and the pictures below are AI set at 55%. The only non GMAX would be Bac111. Gates were full, ground was way too busy and computer was slow. The current ry setup is 27L (arr) and 22L, 32R (dept) and 27R (arr). Am working on 32L both up and down. first view is east bound, second form the tower south view.

I need some help....maybe I am missing the picture here but, I am unable to make any of my add-on acft AI traffic. Hello,When AiShuffler makes the flightplans it makes like ALLOT of small aircraft plans like cessna's/pipers, how can I decrease this making more room for the big airliners?, the +/- 20.000 flightplans it makes is fixed right?Greetz,Paul

Well I loaded up worldai10a.zip through Traffic Tools, linked in the 10 most used aircraft in those flightplans, downloaded a few AFCAD gate edits, and went to watch the show at some of the gate-enhanced airports with 100% AI traffic set.Good points: lots and lots of planes, and lots of ground frequency radio traffic requesting and permitting taxi to the runway or taxi to the gate.Bad points: a few aircraft pushed back or turned away from their gates, but none continued taxiing. No landing aircraft made it off the runway (or any further than the grass by the side of the runway).Hmmmm. Not enough CPU cycles in my AMD1100MHz/512MB/GeForce3Ti200 system to handle the volume…

I noticed that if you seperate the parking you can have ground take you closer to were you want to park. At KPDX I have my gates ie gate A 1, gate C 2... then I have NE parking, N parking, SE parking S parking and so on. When I landed in my Archer and switched to ground I had the option to taxi to gates, NE parking, N parking and so forth. So if you break up your parking instead of everything being parking you can choose your parking. It didn't break down the gates. Too bad, if it did you could at least choose the terminal. So for those adding gates & parking, it would be nice if you could seperate it into different areas and use gates at the terminals instead …

Has anyone found a workround to the problem of aircraft "sticking" when queueing at the holding point or is it just my problem? This seems to happen at any airport where queuing occurs. Have tried fiddling with the nodes via AFCAD but with no avail.

Hi Folks,Just started to get to grips with AI traffic, already learn a lot from reading this group. As a result I have two runways in use at Heathrow and some aircraft going around minor airfields as well.However hopefully someone might be able to assist me with regards to scheduling airliners using the many published files available.I notice that some lists show a single rotation only and as a result the aircraft sits on the ground for most of the day using up a valuable parking slot. I went to their web site and downloaded the program but I noticed that it hasn't been updated since March and, even though it talks about version 1.2, only 1.01 is available.Should I send these guys any money? I would like to have the full program but they sure seem idle... too idle for payware.

You must have TTools to add this to your traffic.bgl file. (this file was created with real life data downloaded from the Department of Transportation and depicts actual movement of US Air by N-number for the week of Feb 1 to Feb 7, 2002).There were no exceptions that I encountered.Thanks-john

Hi folks,Does anyone know if its possible to edit the ATC centre files that are in the ATC directory (not the airfields ones in the AFD files).The rerason I ask is that for the UK there are so few Centre freqs and it gets very busy with a lot of AI traffic. I would like to reduce the areas size and fit in some new one, with the same name but with extra freqs.Rgds Ron

Please forgive me if I have missed anything about this in the forums lately. But, I can't seem to get the ttools compiler to accept weekly schedules that I have downloaded recently, the compiler just stops & reports an error under the 1st weekly input it comes to.Is there a later version of TTools I shoud have downloaded that accept weekly schedules instead of the 2hr,12hr,24hr etc?Any advice will be appreciated.Ned.

Ok, once again I'm coming back to the pond for suggestions......In my 3rd overlay for KCVG, I have a Northwest Boeing 747 scheduled to land each evening at roughly 11:30PM. Runway 27 is programmed as the longest runway in the 3rd overlay. The plane does land on 27 and usually right on time. However, each and everytime it makes its right turn to the taxiway and stops. Right when ATC advises it to contact ground is when it stops. It never does move again from this spot and forward to the ramp.If I load FS2002 with the time after 11:30PM, I find this 747 parked where its suppose to be. I'm pulling my hair out.Any suggestions???Some notes:

I'll leave it to John Stottlemire for now :)I have the Usairways daya but assembling it manually is a nightmare :(I sat down for 30 minutes today and did 2 aircraft!! :-newburn Maybe when I do my next CS classes I can automate it...International flights will have holes as flights such as US1480 goes CLT-STT-SJU-CLT taking a full day to do so (DEP1110 ARR2110) Some of their other carriben flights do the same, but there are so few that one can piece them together easily.Tim

This is an amazing situation I am in:I created an overlaid airport at KRIC to send commercial traffic to the existing airport, and general aviation to the "other side".I think I followed the instruction to the letter (I used the AFCAD "HELP").ATC is vectoring me, when I fly over to the "new" layered airport, to the general aviation side, and I have heard ATC send commercial traffic (and I have seen the AI commercial traffic) to the correct side.I was baffled, however, that I was seeing no general AI aircraft parked at the airport at all, nor landing & taking off.I went back into AFCAD, and tried to open the "new" (general aviation) side, and the diagram was not there.…

Hello all,I finally succeded overlaying KMSP(Minneapolis/St. Paul International) airport. http://sc.communities.msn.com/img/emoticons/emsmiled.gif Now I have all the runways active. I have KMSP and MSP2 overlaid.KMSP has 12L/30R and 4/22MSP2 has 12R/30L All runways are 11006' long.Two runways are active at once for take off and landings depending on the wind.One cool thing I noticed was, even if I am on the KMSP side, Ground sometimes assigns me 12R/30L runway(MSP2 airport) for takeoff. Same thing when landing on one airport and I am assigned to a gate from another airport. Progressive taxi works like a charm even when taking off from the different airport(KMSP - MSP2).…

Overlaying KRIC with a "side" dedicated to general aviation traffic.Do I need to add a new tower to the new side in order to get my general avaiation AI Traffic to land there?My commercial traffic seems to be doing great on the "old" side KRIC.But nothing is coming or going at RIC2 .....Any help would be much appreciated.

So I download the flightplans for the various airlines. I import them into Excel and I notice things are missing... times, fligt numbers and some other things. How do I get this info and do I go in and individually change each and every leg? Very time consuming but I am willing to do it. But where do I get the info for the flights? They are all 0/00:00:00. ;-) TIANathan

Hi, I succesfully made FS to use 2 runway, 1 for Landing and 1 for Take Off, with my own experiment. It looks great for AI. However I starting getting confused when I land on those airports, The ATIS always give me the same Rw for TO & Landing, but tower assigned me to another Rw that is supposed to be the landing Rw. During VFR approach, I cannot contact tower right? so I just rely on ATIS, but when I close to airport, the tower gives me another runway, this is quite confusing.My Question is, Is there any way to change for ATIS to give the same landing Rw as tower will give? (not the Ms default one please).Thanks for the answers before then!

I converted WA96 to a live airport using AFCAD and it has been a trying session trying to get AI to land there. I have adjusted the airfield altitude up and down in the Airports database file to no avail. I have also fiddled around with the pattern altitude and the airport altitude in AFCAD and still no luck. The only way I was able to get the AI to land was by moving the center point of the runway farther away from the real runway, that way the AI would complete the base run farther out and would have enough time to descend to the runway, that ofcourse means landings in the other direction can't happen because the center position of the airport is off.
