Hi,In the real world (as well as FS-world) there exist several airports where an aircraft is required to backtrack the main runway in order to reach the threshold and then turn around 180 degrees in order to line-up for takeoff.When such a maneuver is executed by AI Traffic aircraft, they usually end up taking off parallel to the runway and not aligned with its centerline. Reason being that they execute the 180-degree turn starting from the center (middle) of the runway, and not by first turning towards one of the runway sides before exeecuting the turn.Is there a way using AFCAD to better design this 180-degree turn so that the aircraft is properly aligned before commenc…

I imported some AFCAD airport files and saved them as it say on the instructions. Now, my problem is the there is no traffic in any of the airports I imported and when I try to go to the specific airports it shows on the listing but it does not show runway or gate. See the image attached:

hi!all,i'm wondering if anybody out there have used this aircraft as AI succesfully,i've tried many .air files but still unsuccessful landing,it can takeoff fine except landing,it just on crashed on the runway and disapeared.thanks for your help!

hi folkshas anyone had any luck in finding a Boeing 757 which can be used as an AI plane and still shows the landing gear etc. I have downloaded numerous 757s but am getting slightly frustrated with them hovering about. or if not is there a way to edit the air or mdl files to show the gear. as always any help appreciated.Tom

I dont want to sound like I am bashing Mike Stones designs in anyway but the ERJ-145 seems to have a slight problem.The nose wheel seems to steer in the opposite way that the aircraft is going.I was just wondering if there was a fix for this that I might of overlooked?Other than that this aircraft is a work of art.We all should thank Mike for his hard work that he put into these aircraft.I have everyone of his aircraft and find them a blast to fly!:-jumpyThanks again Mike for your Work and hope to see more of your work soon!!;)Cheers!:-waveJared

I just tried to move the NRE VOR near Tokyo Narita. AFCAD does everything it's supposed to by appearance, i.e., when I input new coordinates and frequency, the graphics displayed changes to reflect the new location and frequency. Yet when I try to save the AFD (Japanafd.bgl) after I changed it, nothing happens. When I reopen this same VOR, it's back where it was. When I open the simulator, no update is accomplished which tells me that the AFD file wasn't changed.Doesn't AFCAD have the capability of deleting or editing VORs or NDBs? AFCAD works when dealing with airport Navaids such as localizers and such, but I've no luck trying to delete or edit this VOR.

I now have 306 aircraft in my source file and when I try to run my compiler, Ttools always stops running and gives me an error message saying "aircraft doesn't exist" eventhough the aircraft exists and is properly coded in the source file.:-grr I did some research on the forum here and saw that some people seem to have run into this problem and others haven't, to date the most aircraft I've seen reported that were succesfully compiled by Ttools was 1107(approx) and another person had 400+. Anyone else notice that sometimes AI Aircraft do some VERY STRANGE THINGS???Every once in a while, I will spot an AI Aircraft taxing all over the airport like it is lost or something. It does not follow any particular path, goes right through buildings, crossing runways and taxiways at odd angles, sometimes just stopping for a short while and then changing direction to head off again in some other weird direction.Anyone else see this happening or is it just my imagination??? :)Bill

I am trying to establish 9 boeing 747's to fly the pattern in KLAX.I setup the runways: 24R for takeoff and 24L for landing. As far as ATC that works fine. All the planes are directed to takeoff from 24R and land on 24L. The AI planes comply all the way. I've found a way to force AI ATC to use correct rwy depending on the wind.In the AFD file, all the runways you want to use as possibly active have to be exactly same length. For some unknown reason, I recomend to set the length to the length of the shortest one. I've already modified AFD data for LKPR airport and it works.If you modify the AFD, AI ATC will choose the correct runway this way:If there is no wind, ATC will choose the first one in the list.( rwy06 on LKPR )If there is soft wind, ATC will choose one of the runways equiped with ILS navaid depending on the wind.( rwy06, rwy31 or rwy24 on LKPR )If there is strong wind, ATC will choose any runway, that is not clos…

First off I am running version 1.2 My decompile went well and I have built up some new flight plans in excel when I go to compile though, I briefly see the compiler dialog box and the its gone I am not given the option to "press enter to finish". and when I go into the sim nothing has changed with my AI. I don't have a backup traffic bgl file in my scenery folder. What I did find when I went in there was a file called a traffic_temp.bgl about 52Kb in size. I checked my coding to make sure it was all proper and it is, commas are where they should be. I also have the compiler and decompiler and the three source files in thier own folder... Any clues what I am doing wrong?…

I was trying to modify an airport file with afcad, and I some how deleted all the airports from certain .bgl files? I was trying to delete the default taxiways and parking spots from EGNV. I selected Edit-select all and hit the delete key. All the files are still in the afdfiles/scenery folder. I can still open them with afcad, if I select "open from specific file" on the open/search page and browse to Scenedb/afdfiles/scenery. However if I try to search "from all scenery files" I only get a blank page? Also, there appears to be no starting points in the "go to airport" page within the sim. How do I get the sim to recognize these airports again?

I'm just starting to get into Ttools to add different planes to the AI traffic. The readme says I should stick to GMAX planes to make my life easier. I have downloaded bunches of planes, some GMAX, some not.Is there any way I can easily tell which planes I have downloaded are GMAX? If not I will just redownload tons of GMAX craft to use as AI.Thanks

It appears that aircraft are classified into types: Huge jet, micro prop etc etc.Where is this classification set for each aircraft and what can I use to edit it? I can't find any reference to it.I have a number of aircraft that obviously are not classified, as they come up as "Unknown" type when trying to schedule AI Traffic.Another dumb question, but I'd appreciate some help.Thanks

Hey there is a brand new and nice ATR-42 available at www.flightsim.com and www.avsim.com in Air France colors.It is Gmax and fly well as an AI.There is also repaints of the GMAX ERJ-145.Go and get them.And please do some textures too. You'll have to forgive my ignorance on this issue, but I was wondering if someone could confirm how to effectively add add-on aircraft into AI aircraft along with flightplans.The way I do it is use TTools to uncompile the three files. I then add the flightplans from the specific airline I want to add. Since all of the flightplans use the infamous AC#23, I have to manually figure out which aircraft the aircraft type corresponds too and then go thru each line and manually change it to pick the correct # that I have matched up in the Aircraft.txt file. has anyone got the pss airbus to work as an ai traffic. it seems to take off ok in my setup but those aircraft landing seeem to crash whilst on final approach to an airport. im using heathrow mainly for my trips by garry summons. anyone else experienced this, if so how can it be fixed?jamie [email protected]
