Hi all!TTools docs says a helicopter cannot be made into an AI.Has someone found a way around this?I'm still experimenting with AI and I did have a go without any joy, however this could be my fault.One more thing; Can the same Airport or to put it proper, the same geographical location exist in more than one ADF bgl?I thank you all for your tipsRegardsCarmel

Hi all,Is there a way to transfer the contents of flightplan.txt to an Excel spreadsheet? I would like to do that in order to tweak arrival and departure times using the various functions available on excel.I've read in various places here about folks using excel.Just doing a copy and paste is no good since all the info is shoved into a single cell.Thanks!Brian

I was reading the AFCAD manual Sunday afternoon, and realized that it's much more powerful than the mere "adding gates for AI" stuff we usually use it for.Specifically, for those of us interested in some bush flying, AFCAD can designate a runway ANYWHERE, and have it show up in GPS & the Choose Airport screens! So just pick your favourite forest clearing or stretch of beach, and run it through AFCAD. Hello all!I have finally taken the plunge into adding AI traffic at the airports that I have upggraded scenery to (Simflyers NA, Airport2000 V.1,2,3 and various freeware add-ons) and have gotten as far as installing the autoinstallers off the PAI website. Where I am now stumped is what do I need to do to add AI to these add-on airports in terms of a "step-by-step" process so that I don't screw up what I already have in terms of the PAI.Help would certainly be appreciated!Cheers!Richard

Recently at small airports with one long, one short crossing runways I find my aircraft permanently stopped behind stationary AI traffic queueing at the short runway, which ATC has told us to use to taxi to the longer active.As I've come across this problem twice now, at EGNJ and EICK, I am wondering if anyone knows a fix.I have tried adding a normal node close behind the hold-short node in AFCAD but that does not fix the problem. Aircraft, usually a small GA type, still get stuck permanently stopped there when told to taxi that route.Anyone know a fix?Peter

Can I tell just by looking at an airport's AFCAD file in notepad whether it has been set for multi-runway operation or not?Many of my AFCAD airport files have become detached from their readme files (I know, I know), and I don't want to replace a multi-runway file with one which viewing in AFCAD might tell me has more gates, but which might not have the multi-runway enhancement.(When I found my download folder had accumulated more than 1000 files not yet archived, and many not yet installed, I decided some urgent housekeeping was in order!).

I've added DME to some ILS's at one airport and for the love of money, (and I love money), I can't get them to work..... Question: can you add DME to ILS's using AFCAD? Thanks

Hi everyone,is it possible for a departure AI flight to use an airport overlay different than that of the inbound AI flight. The problem is that I want the departing ai aircraft to taxi out of the parking stand, in the opposite direction of how it came in. I don't want my aircraft to make a 180 degree to taxi out of the parking stand.regardsDaniel

Hi Folks,after designing and installing an addon scenery with an according afcad layout, I happen to have a strange phenomena.On FS startup, all traffic is properly placed at gates/parking etc. All behaves well (within fs and flightplan limits) until I do a trip myself. On arriving at this specific airport, the aircraft hang in midair, about 110 ft over their parking positions. Departing traffic "beams down" to the apron before taxiing out normally. Arriving traffic behaves normal, too.I had to use a flatten area to have the area useable for this (new, no MS-default) airport. May this affect the AI positions when the airport area is out of visual range?Any help is welco…

I have been running into an awful lot of the AI traffic not moving due to my Aircraft in the area. I was at KPIT and an aircraft had stopped an awful long way from myself and would not move. I was in no impeding on it's way to taxi to the active. I have had this happen now at various other airports. Is there way to reduce the distance an AI plane needs to be from the plane I am flying so these hangups stop.Thanks Andrew

How does FS2002 AI handle differences between the number of flightplans and available parking slots? Are flightplans ignored once all available parking slots are allocated?I'm creating GA traffic for Alaska, and don't want to spend a lot of time creating flightplans that will not be used.-Basil

I've just added a bunch of taxi ways to EGDM and when I save it all appears normal. However if I close AFCAD and re-open the airport all the nodes are still present but all the links have disappeared. Is there something I've missed on this?

Need help with Afcad Program. While using the program to modify an airport.I tried 1st to load (defult fs2002 airport) then save without changes to the aiport and gave me an error when I ran fs. I dont know what to do now, I guess my hope is up using the program. Anyone know of a resolution to this problem. Thanks for any help.Dairon

It took a little longer than expected, and I had to switch all my files when my website went out, but now I have a nice new one, and it's all ready for the debut of my program. (Hit F5 if you don't see a January 6 entry.)Thanks to all those who offered tips and suggestions. I hope you'll like this new improved version. It has a more user-friendly interface (though still in a DOS window) and generates 24HR, multi-leg plans rather than the original two-leg, weekly ones. It also does its best to automatically detect the airport region, and to generate aircraft registration numbers appropriate to that region. Hi,I have discovered that, using Downson's WideFs and TrafficLook combined with Wright's NAV30 (+NAV31beta), one can display and follow all the AI traffic in a radius of 40Nm on a map on a second PC. I was looking at an airport in AFCAD "DXXX", according to AFCAD it exists and has parking spots and taxiways, and navaids etc. But when I go into FS2K2 and enter DXXX in the search airport area - the section to choose where at the airport you want to be placed is blank. You can't even choose active runway. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks!!

I have made a layered AFCAD for simflyers PHL so that all commuter aircraft use the shorter runways as in real life. The problem I have is that the aircraft only use a couple of gates. I have many spots available. When an aircraft lands it disappears from the runway. When I land it always assigns me to one of two gates. Can anyone help me with what I have described. It may be more info is needed but this is the basics of my problem.Thanks in advance Andrew
