    Thanks to Holger I was able to quickly color some of the Winter (WI)desert like textures provided by Microsoft to a more realistic coloring for my area near Pittsburgh, PA. Very unexciting task. See Below.Just to make sure that I am not off on a tangent, has Microsoft eliminated the blending of adjacent textures in FSX? On my system trees pop up at odd places within textures, some with very simple straight boundaries which is quite unrealistic. This seems to be a significant step backwards and a compromise for some unknown reason.     According to the Excel spreadsheet that was listed recently on Avsim Scenery forum the actual file for class #30 is 007B2xxn.bmp . However, when I changed the textures to the FA (fall) series the original desert textures remained. So I moved all series 07b2xxn textures from the world/textures folder. I still had the original textures. I then moved the entire 07xnxxn.bmp series out of the texture folder and the originals remained. I did the same for the 08 and 05 series since they were used in other areas. The originals remained. Next I changed the name of the World/Texture folder and then (finally) the program reverted to a lo-res default texture. The Excel sheet seems t…

    Hi,I should really appreciate some help. I wonder does any one know how to simply and easily determine which texture sets belong to which landclass values. I have discovered that by modifying the default textures of Fs X it is possible to go quite along way to removing the drab brown desert appearance of FsX autumn. So far, I have been identifying the textures I want to change within the sim and then been rooting around in the worldtexture folder to find them: this is very tedious and time consuming, hence my question.     Hi thereI have been able to cut my aerial geotiffs up on export from global mapper for bgl size reasons but when I view them in FSX I have a small but very defined black grid where the seams are and I get different ones as I move away from the scene (Some sort of LOD anomaly?.     Hello gang!I have been simming since FS98 but am completely new to the design aspect. I have read the beginner's guide to scenery design at the top of this forum to get a feel for what I'm in for. For my first attempt at enhancing FSX I would like to add vehicle traffic to main highway that currently does not have any. I have the deluxe version FSX and have installed the SDKs. Using TmfViewer I have located the correct bgl and can see the vector information for the roads currently in place.     Sorry if this seems dumb, but I have GeoTiff's that need editing and I really prefer to use GeoTiffs as a way for Resample to get it aligned in FSX especialy if you use multiple sources but when I save them in Photoshop it losses all the Geo data. Ughh! I can export the Geo Data using Glbal Mapper and I know there is a way but I cant find a way to add the Tag info back into the tiff after I ahve saved it.So I don't see how you can make a water mask geotiff as well as a blend mask as wouldn't all of those need to be GeoTiff as well?Thanks for any help.

    Hi all.When I add a new scenery to FSX, I do not see any modification to the scenery.cfg file (no new entries in the file) as it used to be in the previous versions. At this point it still remains dated the day I installed FSX, 11/7/06, eventhough I added a couple of sceneries this 14 november. Yet the entries do show normaly in /Settings/Scenery Library and work correctly as addons in the sim.So, if scenery.cfg is no more 'updated' by an addon, which file is and where does it reside?     I've just about finished the first part of my landclass project, but have encountered a rather major problem that has me stumped. Seeing as how this is my very first scenery creation for FSX I certainly could have messed up a step somewhere, but as far as I can tell I did everything by the book.The screenshot shows my landclass in action near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The way I understand it is supposed to work is by overlaying the updated LC tiles over the worldlc.bgl, which I assume occurs automatically by giving the scenery a higher priority in scenery.cfg.     Hi,I've tried to exclude all objects in a small area with the following xml code (I've omitted the FSData tag and xml prolog).It doesn't remove the default FSX autogen objects. Has the behaviour of exclusions changed in FSX? I've placed the exclusion bgl file with a lower priority than my custom scenery folder, but with higher priority (above) all other scenery entries.It might be the coordinates that are faulty. I've manually converted the FSX coordinates, for example: "N55 45.20" to decimal "N55.75333", which is 55 degrees plus 45.20 / 60.Any help will be appreciated :-)EDITED: Sorry for this post - I found the answer in other posts.   20. I see all different types of data and am bewildered by all the choices, I expect to use the data to help in photoreal scenery and will load into Global Mapper.Accurate is best, and I don't mind paying for it if its not free but I just need some direction.Thank you.

    Im having a problem with the tree results using default trees.When I plant a tree , in the sim I get a single tree in ther center and 4 sections on the outer corners similar to a 5 on a dice.I only get this with the default trees, If I plant Gerrish Gray's trees I get 1 single tree.See attached image.     If I recalculate the Millennium info I get the same values as in the INF. However, when I use a Terraserver or Google Earth photo and calculate the Cell size the x & Y values are not equal. It seems that every successful INF has the cell sizes equal??Dick near 5G8
