    Hello fellow Scenery Designers. Recently, a certain problem's been bothering me. I've run out of airport scenery projects to do. I don't have any more airports conveniently close to me to take pictures of and turn into scenery! So this got me to thinking... what if other people were to post pictures of their local airports somewhere for Scenery Designers to use? Scenery Designers would have a great resource to create new scenery without having to travel the world, and those willing to take some pictures of their local airports, previously unfeatured in the FS world, get free, accurate scenery.     I am trying to make moving jetways in FSX, but I cannot get the Jetway object to display.This is what I have done up to now: There is obviously something wrong in my coding, but I cannot figure out where... If I call the object on it's own, without using the jetway entries, then it displays, but not if I use it as above.I suppose that the TaxiParking Number and the Jetway Parking Number must match.Can someone please point out to me where I am going wrong?Thanks in advance!

    Hi all, I am trying to cover a little part with custom textures but I am unable to get a resample work.I noted with the "millennium3.tiff" of the example all right and the RESAMPLE tool builds the right BGL file, but with mine nothing.I export from global mapper a geotiff with the correct parameters in lat/long... but nothing!I will appreciate any kind help from youRegardsGiorgio

    Matt Fox has available a replacement default.xml file in which he edited out and removed certain autogen buildings, like certain restaurants, gas stations, water towers, etc.http://www.fox-fam.com/wordpress/?page_id=41This is his file:http://www.fox-fam.com/FSX/reduced_default_xml_alt.zipI downloaded it and replaced my default.xml file with his in the Autogen folder.     I've taken a model with animations in gmax and exported it to fs2004 and it worked fine. I have another model from a different artist and i do the same thing but most of the model doesn't show up. Any ideas?Thanks,Steve

    Gentlemen,I spent some amount of time learning GMAX and completing a couple of projects with it so to avoid loosing backward compatibility with FSX.I now have FSX and have properly installed the two airports in question. Most is well. Objects that I colored rather than textured with GMAX are black. I assumed that this was a new reality and reopened one of these objects and applied a texture to it. It is still black in FSX.Does anyone have a handle on this yet?The Adventure Continues,Mike Eppright (KICT)

    Hello all, I was surprised to note the absence of vector autogen in the first demo and I see it's still missing in the new demo.Does anyone know if it will be in the final release, or has Microsoft dropped this feature?If FSX has no vector autogen then I think I see a gap in the market. AutoAsm can currently automatically create 'vector autogen' e.g. trees, buildings, light poles, telegraph poles running along roads - and moving road traffic.     Hi all.It's not clear to me whether the current range of design utilities will work in FSX, such as SGX, APW, Rwy12, ObPlacerXML, EZ-Scenery, EZ-Landclass. It seems that it comes down to the connectivity moduls (given that all these utilities talk to FS about the aircraft's location). There's no problem about the BGLs they produce given FSX's backward compatability. However, it's not clear where the DLL files should be stored in FSX (there's no 'moduls' folders, as such) and whether the utilities have to be re-configued to read the new location where they are stored.Any thoughts?Cheers,Matthew.

  14. Hi. I have installed a couple of so-called 'star' AFCADS, made using starcalc (on AVSIM). They work fine and a/c now use all available (including non-parallel) runways at those airports.The only problem is that, even though the 10ft 'dummy' runways are all marked as being closed for take-off and landing, ATIS reports each one as active (takes for ever, and sounds absurd!). How can I stop ATIS from doing this?Thanks,Martin

    The old 32 pixel wide mask etxtures worked fine for FS9 when the terrain textures where limited to 256x256 but with the new 1024x1024 textures the 32 pixel wide mask textures are way to narrow, by this I mean that the end result is the dreaded cookie cutter effect.Beautiful 1m terrain textures, but "blended with too narrow of a mask leaving us the "cut" out look between landclasses.I want to blend them much more...the idea is to change the mask textures from 32x1024 etc. to 64 or even 128x1024.Is this doable?can we still use Martin Wrights graphic tools?or any other ideas?

    G'day all.Is there someone out there that know a thing or two about editing m-files, you know the long, thin, 8-bit bmps that blend the ground tiles together. Always been a mystery to me. Can't see how they work. If anyone's any clues I'd really appreciate the feedback.Cheers,Matthew.

    I've successfully created a flatten for a particular airport using bln2shp and shp2vec, shp2vec produced the file cvx0501.bgl. However, there is now a dilemma, what happens if someone else creates another flatten in area 0501 and creates a file of the same name? This seems somewhat reminiscent of JABBgl which modified the FS9 default AP files.Can I rename cvx0501.bgl or does FSX need to have a fixed filename?George

    There's no metion of how to add a fuel truck to the airports in the SDK. Works great at KJFK but at TJSJ it says "no fuel trucks available".Any ideas,Juan

    Has anyone heard if Christian Fumey is planning to upgrade Grnd2k4 for FSX?It is a great program and easy to use. I have been able to add some lakes to FSX, but cannot do anything else.I imagine it would be a big job, but we sure could use it after the mess MS made of the shorelines, lakes etc.Mac

    It looks pretty trivial to create photo scenery in the new resample. I took some 0.3m USGS color geotiff that I have and output it from Global Mapper @ 1.1m in Geo/WGS84 and fed it to resample with LOD "auto". My source tif was 120mb and resample created a 31mb bgl. I don't have FSX installed but looked at it in tmfviewer and it looked OK. With a little tweaking of the inf it should look pretty good.Also, it looks like it will be easy to use my 4km grid northern hemisphere snow cover data to update the seasons.scott s..

    Hello again, Is it essential that individual waypoints have the correct Magnetic Variance specified? I'm working on PACOT and other lat/long Pacific waypoints and I was curious if I really need to specify the exact MagVar to make them work properly. So far, the 300 or so points I've created display in FS9 perfectly where they belong with me having set magvar for all of them of -16.00000. However, will the MagVar affect their actual location in the sim? How important is it that I specify exact magvar? Thanks in advance for the help!-adam
