    Does anyone know what tools Georender and Megascenery use for generating their photo real sceneries?I'm not interested in their scenery - I'm just interested in the tools they use.Terrascene is the only tool I've found that does something similar but it's pretty old now and the data formats it accepts is limited.

    Ok This is my first time using AFCAD.. The default Airport in FS9 for Tunica, MS is really out of date. It contains the airport M97 which has been changed to KUTA. The new airport contains an 7,000' RWY with an ILS approach for Rwy 35. I've put all the information into AFCAD2.1 correctly but the ILS is Shutting off appox 300' above the RWY. Can anyone help me with this. The XML stuff that's another story. I have no IDEA how to do that type of stuff.     Vector flattens which cross a QMID 11 boundary are not split at the second crossing.     The only add on scenery I have ever installed recently finds the desitnation airport about 150 feet in the air and trees in the runway. I have Ground Effects Pro and FS Genesis 79m mesh terrain installed. The area in question is in Germany. Any suggestions for why this might happen. This scenery is used for multiplayer by a VA and no one else seems to have this issue? Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.Cheers,

    I have got the polygon that I want to flatten with BLN2SHP and ShptoVect but am having problems. No info came with the utility so I assumed they were Lat/Long.   8. Hello and happy new year!I started experimenting with gmax (included in the fsx copy) about a week ago. My question is how can I apply the "array" option on a group of polygons and not on an entier object. I want, if possible, the new polygons created to be part of the same object with the first polygone.I tried to apply array with only the desired polygon selected but it din't work.The reason I ask is because I want to array some polygons on a cylinder and I end up having 16 cylinders in one place.Thanks a lotJim

    Hi all.Could someone please tell me whether the G2K 'exclude' files (the 0_Exclude* ones) can be included in a scenery folder that has an associated 'texture' sub-folder? I understand why the _3, _5, _9 and _9nn files have to be in a scenery folder without an associated 'texture' sub-folder (because of the memory leaks issue), I'm not sure if the same logic applies to 'exclude' G2K BGLs.Cheers,Matthew.

    I am not expert on scenery development, but I've been trying to correct and improve my local airport (Jundiai - SDJD). The default airport altitude is almost 500ft above than it should be. I edited APX file and it corrected only runaway and a small area around it. The region around airport boundries is still high. I tried using flatten area with SceneGenX software, but it did not work. I realize that flatten areas generate and separeted .bgl files. Maybe FSX does not read this files.But when I use airport polygon (APRON) it works as a flatten area. Sure it's not pretty to use APRON to flat region around airport boundries because APRON is covered by a texture.Any suggest i…

    Hi,Since a short time I realise that my taxiways and apron became a little bit bumpy. I checked the situation on another airport I made for testing files, and there is no problem at all.I suppose that I better rebuild the airport, but I like to know what the reason could be for this bumpy thing.Must say that I use Airport for Windows 2.6 (on disc 2) and using recently AFW 3 (on disc 1) and running FS2002. Perhaps I may not mix up the .apt's.I decided that I only will use AFW 2.6 + GMAX + Groundmaker.Greetz. Jos

    Hi,I posted a thread on the FSX Forum and at last no clear answer... even someone said: this topic belongs rather in the scenery forum. I doubt that a little bit, but here it goes.The facts are:1. If there is an exclude switch used for your own scenery in FSX, then the lights you make will not be displayed.2. These light effects are far from bright. We could test an example and only a poor lightspot could be seen on the ground from a lightpole and that only in the default airport.     Hi all,The sea is represented just blue around Spain in the flight simulator (I think thats valid for the entire Europe).In reality there are, however, many nuances from ice blue to turquoise.     I have some glitches in my FSX photoreal scenery made with resample.Attachment (1) shows the black lines I get where one BGL adjoins another.Attachment (2) shows the black rectangles at the corners of adjoining BGLs that overlap each other.Attachment 3 and 4 are the same as 2, except that now, the water effects slider advances to low 1.x, for attachment (3) and medium 1.x for attachment (4).

    I have been combing through the forums here in search for an answer to my question regarding objects for RWY12 / EZ Scenery Designer. I am having a very difficult time as I am not even sure what to look for thus pardon me if I have opened a new thread on a old or ongoing topic.     I want to modify the underlying landclass in my area. The Terrain SDK states that this is possible, I followed the whole description through to the point where resample examples are found, I see whats going on and I have no trouble using resample.exe to create the example .BGL files which then show up in TmfViewer.My problem is that I do not understand the relationship between the values in the source greyscale image (say "ModifiedGlccSubset1.tif") and the resulting Landclass values found in the .BGL file that is generated.Lets say I want a landclass value of 10 "Irrigated grassland" in my BGL file, what greyscale value in my source image will give me that result?I have…

    I used blend, waterland and tiff by 3 files without problem. Water is transparent, nice rendering.When i want to create night variation, i have trouble with same files plus one.It seems that the blend mask wasn't used anymore by resample.exe.I tried black or white portion in my night tiff, but same result with the blend mask : land where i have no photoscenery texture is now white and i have no more sea. I tried too the 2 bgl way, one for day only and the other for night, same panic, even if different, for the mask !Bug or advice needed ?thanks a lot.

    Hi,I'm looking for some suggested techniques on colorizing USGS black/white aerial photos, such as those from Terraserver. Are there any tutorials or general methods that describe how to do this in Photoshop or other software?     Can anyone tell me which program supplies the grass textures around the default airports. Obviously I have FS9, with Ground Enviroment, UT-USA, AE7. Before I got GE Pro, I had the FS Scene textures and used them with a program form the Avsim library. I was very happy with the way everything looked. Now with GE Pro, etc., I am very happy with the way everything looks except with the default airport proper textures. The grass is a "hodge-podge" of greens, browns, tans, and grays, and resembles nothing like the rest of the world.I'm not sure if one of my add-ons changed, or controls these textures, but would like to keep all my add-ons and get the airport grass textures to l…
