I'm using Architect2002 to create my airport, but it's Overrun (yellow chevron area) function doesn't work. I saw them in default FS2002 airports, but how do I get them into my scenery? A2002 generates SCASM source code to allow modification before compiling.Thanks again!Enrique

I'm planning to send an email concerning a suggested improvement that could be done to the GMAX program which would have quite noticable improvements from within FS.You ever wanted apron, or parking bay lights to reflect off your a/c's body as you taxi in/out?It works with light reflecting off the ground, so why not a/c!?At the moment this hasn't been possible but i'm sure that Gmax would be able to do something like that.Should I be sending this email to MS FS group (if so whats their email) or should i send it to the makers of Gmax?CheersWill

I have no idea how to install addon scenery. Someone please tell me where to put all these files! I just downloaded the new cyqm scenery and am dying to see it. I can install airplanes fine, but this idea confuses me, Any help would be great appreciatedCheers

Dear All:I hace created a building with 12 polygons by face or side, but i see a black edegen between the texture polygon.I assign the corrcet parameter in the UVW mapp and on the Edit UVW windows uin the unwrap uvw map, but in FS2002 i see the black edege between polygons.I FSDS i din't have that problem.Is there any solution?The FSDS object will be compatible with FS2002?Thanks.Alfredo Mendiola LoyolaLima Peru

Hi all, I found I don't know how to re-assemble a dxt1 file without losing edits I want to make in a lower mip image. I don't want to edit the main image, just change some lower mips. I have bmpext, bmp2000, bmpdxt, convim, and of course the image editors. So far, my editing of the mips appears fine, but the saving in bmpdxt process results in a totally blank image. If I do a "save as" dxt1, then it recomputes the mips and my edits are lost.I'm finding that my fence texture looks great at the best res, but lower mip images can't display the "knit" of the wires, and it needs to be replaced with a semitransparent film at those distances.Thanks in advance,Bob Bernstein

Is there anyone willing to do an update of Piarco Airport in Trinidad, WI? There in now a completely new airport on the other side of the runway yet I find it depressing that I'm relegated to using the old terminal, esspecially now that BWIA has a new A340-300 in service!!!!Is there anyone doing an update or can we get the ball rolling somehow?

I did some more experiments.It seems as if the texturing in gmax for scenery hasn't been finished in time for FS2002, so we just have some semi-support, some stuff works, other things don't.In general, the main support we have for buildings is:TEXTURE_BUILDINGTEXTURE2_NIGHTThat's how it's written in the SDK, and that works fine for me. Now, I'm sure we can also use TEXTURE_SPRING, etc to make seasonal textures, but that's not supported by gmax. I think Arno got this to work...As we've seen, oddly enough, gmax doesn't export TEXTURE_BUILDING but TEXTURE_AIRCRAFT instead, which can cause vanishing textures. I already had a suspicion why gmax does this, and I just confirmed …

I recently got FSSC. It is a great program. I built a custom airport in New Orleans East and it looks perfect. The I added towers, their ids and numbers but what about gates. Can I somehow set it up for gates. I tried using afcad to add gates but i cant make afcad read anything. Does anyone have an answer?

I'm building a new terminal for PVD, and to get the process started, I created it in gmax with the proper formatting (basic size, anyhow) now I want to import this into FS, but I don't have a clue on how to convert my .gmax file to a mdl or macro file. Dear All:I have made a building with 12 polygons, each polygons has a material assigned, but when i use the Edit UVWmap option i can't know what material i'm seeing.Is there a way to know what material i'm seeing in the UVWmap editor, i see all the names like bitmap...When i use the pick bitmap option in the UVWmap editor, i can't get some textures for non square polygons or small polygons.Is there any solution.Thanks.Alfredo Mendiola LoyolaLima Peru

I just acquired Photoshop 7.0. I want to take a texture and change every pixel of a certain color to a another color. As an example, I would like to select a specifically colored pixel and then tell Photoshop to change every pixel of that color to another specific color.Thanks,Dick

Hi,I have been working with my Swedish helipad scenery for FS2002 for some weeks now, and for information I have made all 3-d design in Gmax. On my helipad apron (mark polygon) has been lift up a little bit in the air due to place sides rocks around my helibase, more realistic look with that. But my problem results: Then I try to land on the polygon the helicopter sink down to the main (mesh) polygon's. So I have work out with some types of options to fix my polygon to be landable BUT I can't get it to work. Hi everybody ... I've been reading some earlier posts about textures getting distorted when mapped to a GMax model that has an irregular shape. Has anybody found a good way to map textures to GMax models without it getting distorted (ie. stretched, non-aligned, etc.)Thanks,Jay

To all those who haven't followed the recent reports buried in two or three threads on this forum and 'General Discussions' :-There appears to be a fault in the gMax~makemdl.exe~FS2002 interface that can cause incorrect handling of textures applied to 3D objects in BGLs. The fault does not affect aircraft MDLs.The symptoms of this fault observed so far are:[ol][li]loss of texturing of objects at an unexpectedly near range, so that they are displayed in middle distance with the underlying fallback colour in place of the applied texture[/li][li]incorrect handling of the alpha transparency channel from DXT3 bitmaps, resulting in a 'hazed' background in some circumstances of…

Hi everyone.I will really appreciate somme comments about this number. I am working a a quite complexe scenery and I found that over 20 000 polygons inside the scene built with Gmax the objects are not appearing any more inside FS2K2 !!!!I try many tests, I did split the BGLS in different parts and even if it always display correctly in GMAX and I don't have any error while exporting the result is always the same : after 20 000 polygons the next objects added under gmax are not appearing ro appearing corrupted in FS2K2.Thanks in advance

I'm looking for someone who is skilled in Land Class scenery to work on a scenery project. I have been working on several Vermont airports and the default, and FSLandclass scenery packs are ok but not quite 80% perfect. I would like to add in small (around the airport) landclass files that are more accurate. I can't seem to get my head around Land class assistant so I'm hoping someone might to try to work together on something.Either reply here or send to [email protected]
