Hello,Maybe an easy question about textures.- I am covering my airfield ground with a poly textured with an aerial photography. This phot is 3072x2048 in size. It is cutted in 6 squared parts (1024 each side) and assembled with gmax in one plane polygon divided in 6 segments.The 6 images are used as DXT1 mipmaped files.My problem is the display of kind of blured lighter lines between each division when inside FS2002. Those lines are appearing at a small distance from the plane so I expect them to be linked with the mipmaps. I looked at the images files but everything looks OK.Does someone know what the reason is ?- To avoid those blured lines I tried to display my image i…

I'm having a problem with the install of the Terrain sdk for fs2000. I'm running Windows XP Home and after downloading I click the file I get a non Win32 application error. Any help or fixes to this? I'm trying to use the resample method for a local airport photo. Are there any other options/tools available other than M$ sdk? Thanks for any help!

After +/- 5 hours work to understandhow it works, reading a lot off post and try a lot of time I succeed with making an object, texture it and making an API with it using fsregen :-)Now I have a last problem:- my gmax settings are units setup : meters grid / home grid / grid spacing: 1 mI make my object (cube) 95m x 21 x 5 texture it and export it.I make then my api using fsregen and let the settings off the library compiler : Power: 100 / scale : 1 / object type : 0 / object size : 50I make my library source file / compil to bgl / create API macro and compile my xxxlib.asm in bgl.Then when I put the "cube" in my scenery with AW2.6 156 It looks 2 ti…

Hi allI have just learning about FSREGEN for make the light or strobe at top of 3d object. But when I use MIDDLEMAN1.2 for make XXX.asm files for FSREGEN. When I use FSREGEN open XXX.asm files ,Program still call for XXX_0.asm files.In other hand, I use prefix name eg.. LIGHT_STROBE , LIGHT_BEACON, LIGHT_LAND,... for part name in GMAX part. The MAKEMDL was ERROR complies. I use this ones for created scenery.Please tell me.Thanks for your reply.Naphon Sudprasert....Fly highest has too quited cold......

Hey how come there are no NYC helipads(Charles Poletti, Wall street heliport, etc...) in FS2002. And does anyone know of some addon scenery to correct this problem in fs2k2?? Thanks,Matt G.

I finally got my light on the ground, but it's rather...greenish at the tip. I selected a light yellow as the color, and it shows like that, but it gets green at the end. Look at the pic attached. What can be done to remove this green?

Imusing Gmax to re-create my home airport.However, sometimes it works, and sometimes (or most of the time) the sim hangs on the "Loading elevation data" and I have to reboot.Can anyone give me a hint as to why this is happening??Seems I remember something in the FS2K2 "read me" (which I inadvertently overwrote) about measurement units in Gmax having to be set a different way for it to work.Meters or feet, american or metric....As I said, it hangs on the elevation laoding, so I assume theres some measurement unit FS can't translate or something.Any help??ThanksJohnW

In designing landclass scenery it is possible to use value 254 and the layer underneath your file shows through. Is it possible to make a sort of "decal", a big photoreal area that lets the default scenery show through but has roads painted on so that they will conform to mesh as does photoreal and landclass?

I've never done any scenery editing ever, coz i don't have the time. I was hoping for someone to create taxiways to Manchester EGCC's second runway, but no one has, so i'll have to learn how. Could someone advise me on what i need to add the default FS2k2 style taxiways and if possible how to do it.Thanks

Okay, so I've tried to make flatten switches for a couple add on airports (FS2000 and 2002), but I can not the dang things to work. I continue to get bumpy taxiways on these airports. I've changed the elevation so that the plane sinks halfway into the ground, all the way up so that the taxiways are blanked out. Anyone know a thing or two about flatten switches that can help me out a bit?Thanks!Rob Diebold(If I start from scratch, I can do it, but who's got that kind of time?) :):-beerchug

I have found myself drooling over the quality of the scenery in Emma Field. Just a quick general question. Can the average scenery designer with tools such as Photoshop, Groundmaker and GMax create such scenery? I've been accused of many things, but never of pretending to know something when I don't. So here goes:I'm new to scenery design, but in creating my first scenery for FS2002, I've learned a whole lot about how things go together. I can make 3D objects in Gmax, place them where I want and create textures that are, in my own humble opinion, pretty nice looking. I've even got a method for creating pilot-controlled lighting on my airstrip that seems to work. But there's one aspect to scenery design that has me baffled... ground textures. Hello all, this is my first post here, although I've been looking at other people's messages for a few days. My first question is about a frusterating problem with makemdl and gmax. I've been using the version of makemdl that came on the FS2002 CD, and that has been working fine. However, I just made a custom rumway with gmax, and I'm trying to get rid of the shadows and flickering using Arno's method of editing the .asm file and then using bglc to compile the bgl file. The CD version of makemdl does not have the option "keep files" so I tried using the version that came with the makemdl sdk. Now the "makedmdl not found" error comes up in gmax when I try to export. Hi, I want to create my volunteer hometown in FS2K. In FS2K2, I visited the spot where it should be to see the whole terrain is faulty. Can somebody please give me a short tutorial (or a link to one), what to do for:-1) altering the mesh in some spots-2) give them a photorealistic texture set (textures already acquired)Also, is there an easy way of putting 3D-objects into the scene (with airport/FSSD) that will sit on the slopes and not sink deep into the ground?Thanks for any help,ToMey

Hi there, i am new to scenery design and i am having trouble with the traffic at my airport. I have Excluded everything over the entire area of my airport (EGBE) and all is well in terms of the look of the airport. My problem is this, the AI traffic will not follow the taxi ways or use the runway. I have used AFCAD to place all of these in the correct place but it seems that fs2002 is still using the defult traffic routes for the airport. Does anybody know how i can fix this?....This may just be telling me where the original traffic routes are. I dont understand this because my new airport in AFCAD has no traffic routes but the old routes are still being used. Thanks in a…

Fixed my last problem now i have another. I have recreated EGBE and used AFCAD to get the taxiways and runways sorted. Now for some reason no AI aircraft actually move. There are at the gates at the correct time but when an aircraft is given taxi clearence it disappears and none land at all. What is going on here??Cheers....
