HI, wondering if anyone can help me?I get an error message when I open my scenry file in fscand it does not tell me what the error is.But I have worked out it is a marco called macro 0which is a windsock that is not showing up properly in fs2002.But because within fsc I cannot click on the macro and check it's properties, it is hard to work out what macro file it is, so I can check it, because as soon as I clcik on where the macro is, fsc closes down on me.Thanks in advancePhil

Hi all.I've made some progress with FS2002-style shorelines. There's still some I need to discover, but the good news is: there are waves!By themselves, there are no waves for shorelines, but when I laid down a decal... waves magically appear. So as in real life, you need land to make a wave. :-lol

Hello All, First of all, bear in mind that I am a complete newbie when it comes to scenery design :-) Question: Are there any tools available (preferably with source code) to loop through a BGL-file and dump all the section contained in it? Basically what I need is all the coordinates of polygons contained in the BGL. I have looked at the Scenery SDK for FS2000 (don't think the SDK for 2K2 has been released yet) but did not come up with anything.Any help is appreciated... With thanks in advance :-waveLevEKCH

Hi folks.I dislike the light grey roads we have in FS and would like to edit them. I found the right textures. I even was able to copy the night-time texture over the daytime one, resulting in black roads. Now I'd like to really edit them (or use the "major road" texture in one of the other default texture directories as a basis for a new one.The problem I run into is, whenever I edit the road file and save it, FS fails to load correctly when it gets to the Loading Scenery Textures part. It bombs out. I can copy existing alternate road textures back and forth all day long and it's fine. Edit the file and resave it, and it's a no-go.When I save the 8-bit BMP files, t…

Hi guys,I was using Airport 2.6, but I found a little aukward to work, so I'm trying Groundmaker now, and it seems more easier. However, one thing is not! How do I insert in FS2002 the World Menu entry data? I inserted the object in the scenery but it only has the name of the airport to enter, and I can't see it in the GoTo Airport inside FS2002.Help please.Thank you.Miguel

OK, after the frequency controlled animation that is now working, I am doing some tests on control the animation bu the plane speed. So when the plane stops in a certain area, the gate starts moving. The problem with this is that I need to find a variable for the speed of the aircraft. Until now I haven't found it, does anyone know any?Arno Member Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[a href=http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/banner.jpg[/a]

I was doing some test on using GMax for my groundpolygons, but while doing that I discovered that the frames are lower then when I use the SCASM version I made before.I have the polygons in a DXF file and I imported that into GMax. After exporting it to the ASM files, I edited the source to have the shadows displayed correct. But when I loaded this file in Fs2002 I noticed that I had lost 4 frames (22 to 18) and I hadn't even added all the polygons that were in the SCASM file (the one that gave 22 frames). So, I think that using GMax for the ground polygons of a big airport is not a good choice, as you can get better frames by splitting the polygons in different Area's and …

I am looking for pictures/drawings/specs for those approach lights that you see at the end of runways that are arranged off the ground on tier-like structures. I don't even know what they are called, but if anyone has info on them I would appreciate it. I want to model them/it in gMax.

Hello to everybody off this site and in advance thank you all.I m a newbee in the sim design and begin with a not to big airport. It is in mye opinion that MS did not put enough thoughtinto the matter of Gmax scenery design to include a formof control for scenery animation in thier makemdl.exec programif the tick18 is all they came up with then they area couple bricks short off a full load!We as a community fellow scenery designers need tostand up let our voices be heard in this matter please posta comment to add to this list!I have supported Flight simulator from dayone of the firstrelease they need to do us right and help with this matter!Rusty Harris

Anyone an idea if there is a tool like 'image tool', where I can define how much mipmappings are defined. In 'image tool' I can make (and edit) mipmappings, but I want only 3 or 4 levels, not all of them. Mipmapping works good if you look with the spotplane and you can look down. But in a cockpit view, you look far away and the the textures are too blured. I want to have something between mipmapping and 'no mipmapping'.I've read in de sdk of VB that you can define mipmapping with less levels as standard in 'image tool'.Anyone tried something like that?regards,Johan Calj

ok, I just decided to have another go at a decal poly exporter for ArcGIS.I just wanted to check (Rhumba, Lee?), do you know if polys have to be concave or can they be convex. I doubt they can be convex, but I hope they can be, otherwise I'd have to program a tesselator (in the long run I need one anyway, I guess, for water polys).Lee, have you thought (or done) something on the poly splitting? My idea was to insert new vertices as required and redefine the polys. Haven't really thought about how to implement that yet though...Cheers, Christian

Hi,I use Airport for Windows. In the past, with fs98 I made good use of the possibility of adding Atis messages to scenery. In fs2k2 this was just not possible. Is it possible to add Atis in fs2k2?If not, is there a way to add text or voice messages that one could pick up if he passed close enough to them and had his radio on a set frequency?ThanksDanny Levin

Arno, Bob B any other guru can help with this?I made this terminal with g-max and after finally getting the windows to look the way I want, I can now see through the other side. How do I get the inside walls to show up correctly. I selected "2 sides" option when I set up the material box. Is there a way to apply texture manually on the inside or does g-max do it on it's own when I apply it on the outside? Thanks!!! Jorge(Yes terminal is not in final position, just for testing purposes) :)

Is anybody aware of any specific programs to create textures for FS scenery? I was looking at purchasing PhotoShop, but it was expensive and looked complicated (for the non-graphic design artist in me). What other programs are available to create textures? Thanks,Jay

I am trying to do some transparency tests and I can't get it to work! I have a 24 bit bmp. I then make a black and white bmp out of that for my alpha channel, keeping what I want to show white, the other, black, and name it somehing else. I then load the regular bmp in DXTbmp by Martin Wright. Then I import my alpha channel and save everything as a Targa file. In Gmax I make a rectangle and apply the Targa texture to it. Keep in mind that I have named the material something like zbias_5_test. I don't know if zbias hurts or not. This is a ground rectangle that has some scenery I want to show and some I want the default to show through. I export it as usual and mak…
