I've used my program to generate two test coastlines spanning two LOD8 areas (one above the other). One coastline works fine (see the screenshot - the beach is a generic texture, not a beach, that will come later). http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/coast.jpg But in the other similar area about a degree to the south, the water refuses to appear (it generates flattened water). The area consists of two LOD8 areas, one above the other. If I generate one LOD8 or the other, then it appears correctly. I have made a landarea using LWM area/areapoint.Can I use the same values for the shoreline or do I have to convert to VTP2 points?If so, what is the easiest way of converting from LWM area/areapoint to VTP2points?Also, how do I connect the LWM-polygons when I use them to raise the land?Is it just to place them close enough, or is there a trick with the angle and distance between them?

Hi all. There comes a time in the life of all projects that you must shoot the Engineer, and get on with it. To that end I have stopped "dinking" with my personal start-from-scratch "remake" of Pacific NW landclass files and sent them to the AVSIM library. I've made a special effort to capture the visual "feel" of the area, and kept the texture type count under 20 for faster load time and memory usage. The area covers from Monterey, Ca on the south to above Vancouver, BC on the north (I included two northern california LC areas I am currently working on). I am trying to put ground light around the terminal and gate area's. Just trying to put where the light beams would hit the ramp and some lighted areas.Have made the polygon area's and assigned some different textures to each to see how they look. Some show during the day as black boxes and none show at night. I have tried them on the same and higher layer number as the ramp area polygon.Do they need to be a LM.bmp texture or does it matter? I have tried them both ways.Using Airport build 157 and FS2002.Thanks, Jay

I'd like to create my local airport for FS2002, but I've never touched scenery before, so I don't even know what questions to ask.Where do I go to learn how to create mesh?How do I create a photo-real area? (land, not buildings)I tried using the Landclass Assistant to update the surrounding city, but it doesn't seem to have a high enought resolution to do what I wanted. Can I adjust landclass for an area smaller the 1 square km?

I know there is a ton of thread on this in the library here, but still I am unable to get objects to animate in FS using GMax.I pretty much tried every tip I could find in the forums here:- Use Tick18_ prefix;- Add one or more static objects;- Group objects;- Used both Middleman as well as the orginal MakeMDL (CD and new version);- Used a keyframe animation;I'm at a loss here... Could anybody give me a quick step by step guide on how to make an object animated in FS, or point me to a tutorial.Thanks.Johan

I want to replace the lead-in lights on the JFK VOR 13R/L "Canarsie" approach. There *are* lights in the scenery -- if you fly right over them -- but that's not how approach lighting is supposed to work! I want lights that can be seen from a distance, big bright lights with a rabbit strobe.Where do I begin? I am a computer programmer, so I think I can do this, but I am totally unfamiliar with the environment. I looked at the SDK docs, but I didn't see anything on guidance lighting.Since there are existing lights in place, it seems that at least placement should be easy.

How do you do CSG in GMax? The docs say to select and object and click the Boolean button. Only problem is I don't see a Boolean button.

Hello all! Since the removal of the scenery section at United Aircraft Design company.....much planning was going on at the time. The scenery department is back and is working on new GMax terminals for our sceneries, NRI, RCH, etc.We also have a new line of productions coming up. We cant promise they will all be out tho.here is a list so far. Hi all, do ya know about some European LandClass update available as freeware for the whole europe?The problem is that Europe appears all the same, and it spoils the fun to fly in my home continent. Has anyone here done an elevated platform (eg for a heliport or ship etc) using BGLC? I did a search but couldn't find anything of value...Apparently fsregen can do that for me, but it's nowhere in the readme...Reading the FS2000 sdk, I have to use AREA_SENSE and SET_ALTITUDE. The sdk says it has to go into the misc section. Is that right, or is this how things where pre-fs2000 and M$ didn't changed their documentation...The other thing I'd like to know is if the SET_ALTITUDE scales with SCALE_AGL, ie does the altitude count from the ground or from zero. If it counts from zero, that would be a bit of a problem, because the building height can change (using SCALE_AGL) depe…

Hi.I'm not sure is it bug with FS2002 or problems with my video card, but only on Zurich airport i see weird texture, when I'm performing takeoff from active runaway.At greater speeds (Beechcraft for example), when I'm looking from virtual cockpit down left to runway, weird green squares appears, like some kind of flickering, it looks like mixing grass and concrete.It appears only at higher speeds, and only on Zurich (default).Also I notice on airport buildings on top of it strange flickering.Does somebody have replacement of this airport, or information where I can make download.My system is: AMD XP1500+ Abit KG7 MBO Gaiward TI/450 GS TI200 Gefo…

Hi everyone, I'm finding it very difficult to make fsregen work properly. I've just downloaded fsregen v0.20b. I also have the latest version of makemdl dated 05.04.02 (I hope if I'm correct about this). Unfortunately when I try to open the xx.asm file an error pops up saying that the 'file has already been processed'. Do I really have the correct or latest version of makemdl? If not, from where can I download it because that's what's available from microsoft's website. Am i doing something wrong? Please help!!!RegardsDaniel

Hi,LoadBitmap() can load the proper season texture if its name is xx_WI.bmp xx_FA.bmp xx_SP.bmp and so on. My question arises from the names MS gave to the seasonal trees textures: treessu.bmp treessp.bmp treesfa.bmp ... Is there any flag for LoadBitmap() to use this new name convention or do I need to use some sort of "conditional" programming?Kind Regards, Luis

I'm wondering if some could convert S. Gonwa's Timmerman (MWC) and Gen. Mitchell International (MKE) sceneries from FS2k to FS2K2. Without the conversion there is an empty ring around the airports with no auto gen buildings and trees. These two sceneries are exact replicas of the real airports. First post ... :-newbie I have recently go into scenery design and, modelling my home city. I was about to use Landclass Assistant but tried using the new customer terrain texture sdk to add aerial images obtained from the web.The results are amazing (roads, railways etc) and I'm now adding bits of auto gen to make it even better. The aerial photos themselves images themselves are "tasters" captured from the web - i.e. lots of compression artifacts and screwed up color/brightness mappings. The company that produces them sells full hi-res versions.So my topic for discussion is - can I upload my scenery when finished to avsim or will I be infringing copyright? :-hang
