Hi Bob hope this helps you to understand what a "simple" patch object is. Like I said a patch object is a "flat" object (to start anyway LOL) Feel free to ask a few questions!. BTW the one that's been "pulled on" was made by simply pulling on one of the 9 yup only 9 vetices that make up each patch object. Dan

Hi there,I managed to annotate photoreal textures to add some autogen objects to the scenery. However, I would like to use different textures for the builings to reflect more the local reality. For this purpose, I took one of the texture files, eg bldf2.bmp, changed it (mainly colours) and saved it back in dxt1 format with MIPS.In the annotation tool, instead of the default buildings texture I selected the texture file I just saved. I tried saving this file in both scenery texture folder and main fs2002 texture folder. The only way I can have buildings showing up is by using the default texture, ie, selecting default texture in annotation tool.To test whether the problem wa…

With the wealth of info out here, I was wondering if someone could compile a list of very useful tutorials and walkthroughs for the various common procedures talked about out here... Mainly landclass editing!A few great tutorials are referenced in the forums, but without links it's tough to find them - especially if they are located offsite somewhere.Looking forward to some tutorial/article links!-Greg

Boy, I have spent a good part of the last few months learning and using SCASM, which is a quite a bit different from the SMF object model format used by Fly II (of which I am very familiar).I decided to look at the new floating point BGL Opcodes used by FS2002, which are recommended for new FS200x development (as you know).I was surprised to see that creating a new object using only Floating-Point BGL opcodes, is almost exactly the same as the SMF object definitions used by Fly II. It looks like you could easily take a Fly II SMF object and translate it right into the floating-point BGL opcodes.Go figure. I could have saved a couple of months of work if the Scenery SDK …

Hi all,Does anybody know what filename I should give to an object for making floodlights and obstruction lights, so that they are lit only during the night? So far, the lights I have made light up continuously, even during the day. Also, is there any way to modify their brilliancy, or light intensity? Thanks,Daniel

First, Is this the right forum for fssc?Second, If it is, why after picking fs2002 under preference do you only get the one choice of "transparent" for ground texture under synthetic scenery?Third, after making a .scn file and clicking on the export wizard the program says "The specified scenery compiler was not found on your system." So I moved the BGCL.exe into the same folder but it still wouldn't compile. Then I tried just draging to the compiler and that didn't work either. Any suggestions would be appreciated?Ray:-newbie

I am wondering if it is possible, and if so, how, to add a DME frequency to my local airport, Gloucestershire? There is both a NDB beacon and a DME frequency installed there, but only the NDB is included by MS in FS2002. Adding scenery as a DIY job is a completely new thing for me; I've just installed downloaded scenery without difficulty up to now.If someone can help, many thanks..

I am trying to make some bgl files wit navaids but i am having problems with the coordinate system, both latitude and longitude. For longitude, we have 2^24 values, given that we have to fill 360 degrees, i get a seconds/unit value of 2.7809. well with this values all is misplaced. Or my math is very bad or there is something im missing. For latitud, its the same but now each unit represents 2 meters (i dont know why the hell did they do it like this). Given that the polar circunference is 40007 km, again aplying math i get 2.3324 seconds/unit. This doesnt work either.thanksmakEDIT got it, my math was wrong doh

Okay, here I go with another uninformed newb question. I've seen a lot of references in this forum and others to concave and convex polygons. Can someone explain what this means with regard to 3D object creation? I understand the greater meaning of the terms, but am not sure how they would apply to, say, a ground poly.thanks,
