    Hello people,I have created a grid composed of square ground polygons to be used as the airport tarmac...     Hi,I have used autoasm and landclass assistant to correct a coastline near the airport I am modelling. After doing this I made a terrain mesh for the area. The 'land' that I made with autoasm and landclass assistant is actually a 100m hill, but I'm sure the mesh is not affecting the new 'land', also the autogen scenery is floating in places and the default coasts and rivers seem to drag the mesh to sea level. Is there a way around these problems?David

    Hello people,Just when I was about to start digging into GMAX, NovaSim has appeared into the scene!! Since I really enjoyed Nova to create macros for FS2002 but decided to move to GMAX so I could make sure my scenery would be compatible with FS2004 in the future, I would like to know if 3D models created with NovaSim will function as GMAX models?It mentions something about floating points, so does this mean that it will be like GMAX models or not?? Thanks for any help on this before I decide to go with one of them..

    I want to create taxi centerlines in Airport 2.6 using a custom texture. The centerline needs to be an alternating black-yellow-black line. I'm designing for FS2002. I used the Create Road tool to create the centerline using a width setting of 1 foot. Using my custom texture for the road, this creates the centerline that I want. I used the Polygon tool to create my taxiways that the centerlines will go on top of. I understand that the "roads" used for the centerlines require a layer setting higher than the polygon taxiways so that they will appear on top of the taxiways. My polygons are set with layers between 8-13, so a road layer of 15 seems to work fine. The centerli…

    I would like to enhance the scenery in my local area. MS has done a fairly good job as far as terrain goes, but rivers, lakes, bridges, buildings, etc. need a lot of work. I read an add in PC Pilot that Abacus ASD is now FS2002 compatible, but now I find out it is quite limited for FS2002. Are there any other easy to use SD programs for complete scenery design in FS2002 available? Thanks. :-)

    Aloha, everyone . . . recently my hard drive crashed and I had toinstall a new one. Reinstalled FS2002 and since my scenery fileswere all on my second hard disk, just copied a backup copy of mysecenery.cfg into the FS2002 directory. Everything works like adream except when I add a new scenery that has any kind of AFD.bglfile. When I start FS2002, it says it is generating new scenerydatabase and as soon as it reaches 100%, it kicks me back to myFS98 desktop. If I rename the XXXAFD.bgl file, everything is OKand the scenery works fine. However, I would like the AFD filesactive so they show up on GPS.     Hi all, I want to try my hand at enhancing the FS2002 scenery and airport for the area I live in. My first question is where can I get images of my state that can be used? I tried terraserver.com but they only had a very small part of my state (North Carolina). My hope is to get some good (aerial) images of the state and it's land features, then use one of the scenery tools available to enhance or recreate it. Then I will move on the the local airport. Any help is appreciated!Dave

    I usually don't moan about people's free offerings, and I certainly feel a little bad about doing it now, but after three hours of trying to figure out how to decompile a BGL file, I just had to get this off my chest.I have downloaded a number of really nice addons for airports (mainly around New Zealand, but also Aussy, England and US etc) and I have been really impressed with the workmanship... many of you Scenery creators are awesome!HOWEVER,There is one thing that ruins it - badily placed, or WAY TOO MANY static aircraft.     Hi guys!I am designing a dynamic scenery for my airport and I would need a little help with variables. So far I have discovered that 7BE is used for COM1 frequency but does anybody know variables for NAV1, NAV2, ADF? Also a tip on raising or decreasing height of stairs to be on the on appropriate height of aircraft would be veery appreciated. I was think on variables such as 33A or 33B but so far I have not designed any scenery that would raise or lower object regarding of the type of aircraft.     Hi all,I have created some missing islands in Turkey. I used LWM polygones and also covered them with texture using VTP Poly method-2. The Islands are allright in their shapes and textures when the sim is run. They are also "hard" (A Plane can sit on them without splashing).Then, I tried creating a Mesh DEM with the resample program to make them hilly but with no success. I checked my DEM BGL file (LOD=7,8) with TMF viewer and it's allright. Also, the elevations described by it are OK as I can clearly observe from the portions corresponding to mainland portions.     Last week I downloaded FSSC. On thursday I began using Abacus FSDS to give back Spokane(KGEG)International Airport it's dignity and as of last night it is looking real pretty with my limited FSD skills. Yesterday I started to work with FSSC to establish Runways and taxiways and now have them in place, I had to apply a flatten switch to get those surfaces to even out. My delima is when I go to add my Airport texture BGL some of the taxiways just dissapear and if I remove the Airport texturebgl then everything is back to normal. My question is???     Howdy Again :-zhelpI'm trying to cut a lake into the default texture near Anchorage,AK. The center coordinates: N61 29.43 W149 25.72Using Dick's CellGrid files and fantastic little programs I determined 65, 81 is the correct Cell and 6, 2 - 7, 2 and 6, 3 - 7, 3 is the correct Area (LOD 13) grids. I took a screenshot with the CellGrid lines and pasted the layout of my lake area onto it then I resized the image to 512 pixels hight then stretched the image width to 512 pixels making a nice square image but causing my lake to appear out of shape. With that I cut the image into FOUR 256x256 images then started to place 1 pixel white dots along the shoreline of the lake and …

    It is better to create a solid structure, say a box, and then use the boolean method to cut out windows, or seperate boxes to create the building, and boolean method again to cut out windows and doors.I know if I used the separate box method and cut out the windows users will be able to see in the building. I guess its a matter of personal preference. I just want to keep the scenery fps friendly and I understand that Gmax created buildings are fps friendly.Thanks Dave
