Hello guys, I've not begun making animated objects in gMax. The animations seems to be nice and smooth when viewed inside gMax, but in FS2002 the objects stays still. What's up with that? Is he cold and frozen? I used FSREGEN to generate an api that calls the library object which I made in FSREGEN. Does animation not work this way, does it have to be exported directly to the correct coordinates? Also I did not check the "No Animation" tab in the export. Any and all help appreciated, thanks, Leandro.

Hi all, back again!!!!!This texture seems to be the common texture used under default runways, other than deleting it, when I tried, I discovered that it took out a Road which is crucial to my design.Has anybody discovered a clue to resolving this in the new Scenery SDK for FS2002.does the 'TerrainTexture.cfg' hold the clueAny help appreciatedRegardsDave

I have been playing around with the timer and a single light in scasm. This gives me different ways of flashes, long and short and various patterns. But i'm not able to make the light make a very short flash, what is the shortest possible time I can get it to stay lit, and what would be the variable for this?

I spent some time modifying an existing airport in AK for my VA, it all went great until I sent it to the other guys, now the ground around the default concrete is creeping into the taxi area and altering the airport. I tried a flatten switch , but that made the default taxiways vanish. Any ideas on why it is doing this, why did it not do it until now and is there a fix?? I spent allot of time on this, and I am ######!Thanks, Michaelhttp://www.geocities.com/res052cd/cmhbanner.gif

I have read thru several posts and learned allot, but not a simple answer to this, so I am posting. I am modifying an existing airport (PAKT) and added several blended texture bmps with alpha. I used a flatten on the airport that matched the default and it all looks good and works great, but now I have lost all the autogen buildings and trees in a wide area, wider than I imagined! Is there a way to get it back, or do I have to lose the flatten? Seeing as I want the trees and the buildings, landclass isn't an option from what I can see, maybe I am wrong, please enlighten!Regards, Michael http://www.geocities.com/res052cd/cmhbanner.gif

I used DefArea by Christian Fumey and SCM2VTP by Falko Dienstbach to exclude and include FS2K2 roads in some scenery. I used Airport for Windows (AFW) to define the FS2K roads, then cut and pasted the roads to a small source file for conversion to ASM and then compiling with BGLC.They are in two separate 1K *.bgls. I think I should be able to include the exclude and include in one *.bgl. If someone with more knowledge of ASM/BGLC could confirm this, I would appreciate.Christian recommends placing the exclude *.bgl in a scenery folder that has not texture folder. I placed the *.bgl with the other AFW *.bgls, which has a texture folder associated. It still seemed to ex…

I have installed all available airports that taxiwaysign.com have develpoed and would like to create some of my own. I would like to try this on a small airport such as Jeffco (KBJC) and if this works share with others. I am not sure what I need to get started. Any help would be appreciated.

Hope I'm in the right forum. :-roll I downloaded the CYYZ scenery from http://pearson2001.8m.com/ It works well, other than the runways and taxiways are bumpy, so you need a lot of thrust to taxi or takeoff. You stop quickly and could crash if you landed a little more firmly.Anyways, is there anyway to smooth the bumps out? I'm not a scenery person so I'm out of my league here. Thanks a lot

I am new to FS Architect 2002. I have designed a replacement for EGAA. My problems are:1. Does the flatten polygon go to the top of the list?2. Do I exclude the FS2002 scenery with an exclude area, does this go to the top or the bottom of the list?3 Why are there no exclude and flatten entries in the scenery.cfg file? Does the free comiler program not really cope with these?3. The Architect scenery seems to have strange elongated taxiways right across the area in addition to my placed ones, although they do seem to co-incide with some of them. How do I get rid of these. Is it a problem with the free compiler program which comes with Architect?

AutoAsm is a prototype program that allows you to turn polygons drawn onto a .raw image into FS coastlines, rivers and lakes. After much pulling out of hair I finally solved the problems caused by multiple visits of the datastream into a given LOD13 square. It now uses a different algorithm based on calculating the azimuth angle of points around the edge of the square. The result is that I believe the program can handle shapes of virtually any complexity. It now handles multiple LWM polygons so you can draw any number of separate lakes as well as coastlines and rivers. The creation of the asm file is significantly faster. Finally I've added a coastline import function (…

I have just started experimenting with some of the scenery design tools, and have what I hope is a very simple question that someone may be able to answer.I have created a simple building and positioned it in the correct spot, but it is surrounded by trees and some houses which should not be there. I presume autogen is responsible. How can I exclude from an area say of half mile square?ThanksDavid

I have been having an ongoing dialogue with Dick Ludowise (rhumbaflappy ) about the removal of coastline flattening poly's from FS2002. These are the poly's that describe the coastlines and also drag elevation down to zero. It appears from this and all the other forums that I am one of the few who have any concerns. My concern stems from the fact that without a method of removing or at least modifying them it is impossible to import any photo scenery into FS2002 that contains detailed coastline information. You are stuck with MS's rather crude coastline data as these poly's will drag all terrain down to zero elevation. I would be interested to know if anyone else is facing…

Hi everybody ... I've searched throughout the AVSIM Forums, but couldn't find the answer - does anybody know if there is a way to modify the landclass of a small area (such as an island) using Landclass Assistant? Thanks ...Jay

This was a note I said to Page Cline but I am unsure if I have his correct e-mail so maybe one of you designers can be of some help.Hi, Would like to ask you a favor regarding your wonderful kcvg scenery. I originally had flashing ground textures with out your scenery and then I installed a 3rd party patch and installed your scenery. The flashing textures are gone the scenery looks great, but everytime I go from taxiway to runway the plane hops in the air and if I go too fast the aircraft will crash. It seems like the runways are either lower or higher than the taxiways, but I cannot notice it visually. I have to go to approach the runway at a virtual crawl inorder …

I am making a macro which will include one library object which will be repeated several times in the same macro. Using refpoint I can use lat/long to place it in different locations in the macro, but in this case it would be more practical to use x & y coordinates in reference to the macros location. Anyone know the solution on how to to this?Regards Kjell A.team Norwegian Airports

Hi All,I have a question. I'm currently working on a small bushscenery called the "hunting trail" which features the live and doings of a poacher. It's meant as a couple of cabins and campsites with a story and situation files. I'm not great at 3d design/macrodesign ..just learning. My question is if you have or know if there are macro's of fishing rods, snowshoes, rifle's?If so would you please give me some help..such little objects in my opinion really adds to a realistic but also fun atmosphere. Many thanks in advance Rob de Vries

Dear fellow designers,I managed to create a lake using LWM polys. However, in order to attach it to a default river I would have to draw OVER its bank/shoreline. I understand that you can do that by using FS2002 layers. But what is the code that must be put into my asm file? It begins with something like that:include TDFMacros.incinclude TDFHeaders.incBGLHeader 89,-89,179,-179,LWMHeader,TerrainHeaderStartLWMHeader label wordLWMFileHeader 513,LWMIndexStart,LWMStart,LWMEndLWMStart label worddatamark_0 label wordLWMDataAreaDrawPolygons 1,3,1,9,10LWMPoly2 52,0,0,20,0LWMPoint 1,72LWMPoint 36,70LWMPoint 38,71LWMPoint 38,73LWMPoint 40,75...Thanks a lot for a hint o…
